Turner & Hooch Finale: Alternate
This is the whole point of fanfiction; right, guys? I felt that that finale was a bit too abrupt, but then again, I thrive on drama, so I decided to create a version that added more. I hope you like it!

Scott Turner groaned and tried to right himself on the floor as the criminal who had taken him hostage opened a padlocked door in front of him.
"Here we go", he said as he came back out holding a blue cooler.
Scott's head throbbed, and he was sure that he had a concussion.
"What do you weigh?" the criminal asked. "180, give or take?"
Scott's eyes went wide as the criminal started filling a syringe with a clear liquid, and he recalled part of the phone conversation his captor had had earlier in the woods:
"Good idea. Same ones I use on the dogs?"
Realization filled his eyes: He was going to be drugged.
Gathering all of his strength, Scott started pushing himself back, keeping as much distance between himself and that needle as possible. The criminal growled and grabbed his foot, brandishing the syringe in his other hand.
"Hold still!" he demanded as Scott kicked out with his legs.
Scott grunted as a kick landed to the guy's face.
"No!" he yelled, landing another kick. "Help! Help!"
The criminal quickly recovered and threw himself on top of Scott, covering his mouth and muffling his cries for help.
"Keep your mouth shut!" he growled, and plunged the syringe into his neck.
Scott let out a muffled cry of pain as he felt the horrid drug enter his system.
"There", said the satisfied criminal, getting up.
"You won't get away with this", Scott said, his vision already beginning to blur.
"Sleep tight, Agent Turner."
"Hooch…"
Scott Turner groaned as he fell unconscious.
…
Meanwhile, at Erica's party, Jess was getting worried. The plates that Scott had asked her to run turned out to belong to some of the city's most wanted criminals in a dog fighting ring. When she tried to call Scott back, there was no answer.
"Hey, where's Scott?" Erica said, coming over to sit down. "I really thought he would be here by now."
"You and me both", said Jess, staring down at her phone. "I've been trying to reach him for the past few minutes, and he's not answering his phone."
"What?"
Concern flooded Erica's face and she sat up straight.
"Do you think he's in some kind of trouble?"
"I don't know; he wanted me to run some plates for him, and the results I found were-"
"Bad?"
Jess nodded.
"Well, we have to go find him! Can't you, like, ping the location of his phone, or something?"
"I can see the last cell tower he was near, yeah."
"And someone should call his sister."
"Call me what?"
At that moment Laura, Matt and Hooch arrived.
"Hi!" Erica said. "You must be Laura, Scott's sister."
"I am", said Laura, smiling questioningly.
"And I'm Matty", her son announced.
"It's lovely to meet you", said Erica, "and I see you guys brought Hooch!"
Upon hearing this, Angel trotted over and the two dogs began running around each other.
"Now, what was it you were going to tell me?" said Laura as Matt was dragged away by Hooch.
"Hi, I'm Jess; I work with your brother."
They shook hands.
"We think Scott might be in trouble."
Laura's face fell.
"What kind of trouble?"
…
A silver truck pulled up to the criminal's hideout and Walton Hollis got out, sighing heavily. He had worked so hard on this money-making scheme for many years, and here was another Turner trying yet again to ruin his plans.
"Alright, where is he?"
The criminal, who now had an ice pack on his face, gestured to the cages down the hall. Hollis walked down and saw Scott Turner slumped against the wall of his former prison. His ankles had been retied and there was now a piece of tape over his mouth.
"How did this happen?" Hollis demanded, turning back to his employee.
"He must've followed us", the criminal said. "We didn't even know he-"
Hollis backhanded him.
"You didn't know that you were being followed by a US Marshal?"
Hollis turned to look at the sleeping captive.
"Well, at least you managed to keep him here."
"What are you gonna do with him?"
"You let me worry about that. How much longer is he gonna be out?"
"The stuff I gave him was pretty strong; it'll probably be a while."
"Good. The fight's gonna start soon. We'll take him with us. Might come in handy, if his nosy sister decides to come looking for him."
The criminal nodded and opened the cage door. He grabbed Scott's limp form by the back of his jacket and dragged him outside to the truck. He and Hollis tossed him into the tailgate and covered him with a tarp.
"Alright", said Hollis. "Let's go."
The criminal nodded and got into his own vehicle, following his boss's truck out into the street.
…
Officer Grady Garland drove down the road in his patrol car, listening to his pop playlist. As he bobbed his head to the beat of the music, he noticed a stray dog on the side of the road. Raising an eyebrow, he slowed the car and got out, cautiously approaching the dog.
"Hey, buddy", he said, taking slow steps. "How'd you get out here?"
The dog barked once, and then took off.
"Hey, wait!"
Grady chased after the dog as he ran through the woods. It wasn't long before he came across the criminal's hideout, and he saw the dog digging in the dirt.
"What is it, buddy?"
The dog suddenly pulled something out and walked over to Grady, dropping his treasure at his feet.
"What's this?"
As Grady picked up what the dog had dropped, his eyes went wide. It was Scott Turner's badge. Now on full alert, Grady drew his gun and walked into the hideout. He noticed a broken crate by the window, and that one of the dog cages had been kicked open. When Grady saw the empty syringe next to a blue cooler by the door, he knew immediately what had happened.
"Oh, my God", he said, and ran back to his car.
…
Scott Turner was moving; of that, he was certain. He could vaguely feel the rush of air passing over his body, and something scratchy touched his skin. He heard the roar of a motor and the sound of tires rolling beneath him. When he tried to get up, he found that he was bound hand and foot.
"Hlmp!" he tried calling softly, but his voice was muffled by the tape over his mouth.
Scott laid down, unable to fight against the drug that had invaded his system, and sank back into slumber in the tailgate of his captor's truck.
…
"Alright, when was the last time anyone saw Scott?" said Xavier, who had joined the women at the party.
"I-I saw him when he dropped off Hooch at my house", said Laura.
"Scott got rid of Hooch?!" Erica exclaimed.
"Yeah, the chief claimed that Scott was getting too attached", said Xavier.
"And Brooke did nothing to convince him otherwise", said Jess.
Just then, Laura's phone rang and she picked it up.
"Grady?"
"Laura!"
"What's going on? Why do you sound so-"
"Listen, I think your brother might be in trouble."
"We were just talking about the same thing", said Laura. "Scott's been missing for a few hours now."
"Yeah, well I know where he is...or was. It looks like he's fallen into the hands of some very dangerous criminals. Remember that dog that we talked to Walton Hollis about? Well, I found a dog on the side of the road out here, and I think it might be him."
"Grady, hold on."
Laura covered the phone with her hand and turned to the group.
"Scott found the dog that Walton Hollis claimed he lost."
"Laura, that's not all", Grady said, and Laura put the phone on speaker. "I found Scott's badge in the dirt by a house, and there were some drugs in a cooler, along with an empty syringe. I think whoever took him must have knocked him out."
"Oh, my God!" Laura exclaimed, clutching the phone harder.
"I also found an argyle sock in the woods."
"That's definitely Scott's, then", said Laura.
"Yup, dude's got stylish socks", said Xavier.
"Hey, isn't Scott's dog a tracker?" said Grady.
"Yes!" Erica exclaimed. "If Hooch can get a whiff of that sock, he should be able to find wherever they took Scott!"
"Grady, tell me where you are", said Laura, signaling for Matt to come to her with Hooch. "We're on our way."
"And so am I", said Xavier.
"Me, too!" Erica exclaimed. "Come on, Angel!"
"Erica, no!" Jess said. "It's too dangerous."
"Scott risked everything to save my baby", Erica said. "There's no way I'm not helping him now; let's go!"
Xavier shrugged and followed Erica to his car.
"Follow me!" Laura called as Matt and Hooch jumped into her car.
…
Walton Hollis parked his truck and got out, going around to the tailgate. Scott, now fully awake, struggled feebly against his bonds as Hollis dragged him forward and grabbed him by the shirt.
"Eh e o!" Scott tried to say.
"You might as well give up, Turner", said Hollis, pulling him towards a barn. "No one's coming for you, and you don't even know where we are."
"Hlmp!" Scott continued to yell, and Hollis just chuckled as the barn door closed behind them.
Scott winced as Hollis finished tying him to a chair in the barn and ripped the tape off of his mouth.
"I never wanted this", he said, walking around to face Scott. "Your dad was never supposed to get hurt-he was never supposed to find out what I was doing!"
Scott stared incredulously at the man who was responsible for his father's death.
"I couldn't let him ruin everything I'd built", Hollis continued, pacing. "I've worked too hard and made too much money running this business to stop now."
"Some business", Scott spat, "forcing innocent dogs to fight each other to the death."
"You Turners...always gotta be the heroes, don't you?"
"So what are you gonna do now, Walton? Kill me?"
"I haven't decided yet."
Outside, dogs started to bark and men's voices started to shout.
"But for now…"
Scott protested as another strip of tape was slapped across his mouth.
"Just stay put. We'll see what happens after the fight. Behave yourself, or we might just have to give you another dose."
With that, Hollis left his captive in the dark.
…
Laura's car screeched to a halt on the side of the road behind Grady's patrol car.
"Alright, Hooch", Laura said, leading him over to Grady, "find Scotty."
Grady held out the sock and Hooch began to sniff as Xavier, Erica and Angel joined the group. Suddenly Hooch jerked up, and he took off down the road.
"Go, Hooch!" Matt called. "Find Uncle Scott!"
"Follow that dog!" Grady exclaimed.
He got into his patrol car and was surprised when Nuke barked at the passenger side.
"Really?"
The dog whined.
"Okay, come on!"
Grady opened the passenger door and Nuke jumped inside.
"Welcome aboard, buddy."
"Let's go, Grady!" Laura called, peeling out onto the road.
Erica got back into Xavier's car with Angel.
"Hang on, Scott, we're coming!" she exclaimed, and Angel barked.
All three cars followed the slobbering Dogue de Bordeaux, who was gradually picking up speed as he got further down the road.
…
Scott struggled furiously against the tape that bound his wrists behind him. He flexed and pulled, but it was no use. The bonds held firm. He thought of yelling for help, and then shuddered at the thought of being put under again.
"I am completely in the dark and all alone out here", he thought. "How am I gonna get out?"
Scott struggled again, bouncing in his chair. He let out a muffled cry as the chair tilted back. CRASH! Scott groaned as he landed in a heap on the floor, no closer to getting out.
"Great", he thought. "Now I'm on the floor. And I thought Hooch's tongue was disgusting."
Hooch, he suddenly realized. He would probably never see his beloved dog again.
"I'm sorry, buddy", he thought. "I never should've gotten rid of you. You're my forever dog, and I love you."
Scott knew he was a grown man, but he was very scared of what might become of him.
"Hollis is a desperate criminal. If he had a hand in my dad's death, there's no telling what he might do to me."
That thought alone made Scott more desperate than ever to get out, and that was when he noticed that the fall had broken the back of the chair. Raising his eyebrows, Scott wiggled away from the splintered seat and scooted himself backwards across the floor, thankful that no one had come rushing in yet.
"Okay, I'm out of the chair. Now what?"
Scott suddenly remembered an escape technique his dad had taught him; but in order to execute it, he had to be standing with his hands bound in front of him.
Gathering all of his strength, Scott tried to bring his hands to the front by looping them under his legs. With some effort, he was able to slide his body over his hands and bring them to the front. Scott felt like whooping for joy as he got to his feet and held his hands high above his head. Angling his elbows the US Marshal planted his feet, flexed his wrists, and brought the tape straight down.
Scott watched incredulously as the tape ripped in half, freeing his wrists. Quickly, he pulled the tape from his lips and ankles.
"Next step: Finding a way out of here."
BAM! Scott's head jerked over to the sudden burst of light as the barn door opened and two bewildered men stood staring at him.
"Hey!" one of them said, registering what was happening.
Scott ducked and weaved as the men tried to subdue him.
"Help!" he called out the door. "Help, I've been kidnapped!"
One of the men tackled him from the right and they tumbled to the ground, struggling.
…
Hooch's ears rose as he distinctly heard yelling not too far from him and he took off, running even faster as the three vehicles behind him followed.
…
"Agh!"
Scott groaned painfully as the man who had tackled him wrestled his arms behind his back and pulled. The second man chuckled.
"You think anybody out here cares about your safety?" he said. "Face it, Agent Turner: There's no one coming for you."
Scott groaned as he was pulled to his feet.
"Ward was right about you", said the first guy, still holding Scott's hands behind his back. "You are pretty squirrelly."
Scott sighed in despair as he felt more tape being wrapped around his wrists.
"Just tell your boss to let me go", Scott said. "You'll be in enough trouble as it is for the dog fighting; do you really want to add holding a US Marshal against his will to your-"
Scott grunted as the second guy backhanded him, sending him to the floor once more.
"Ward also said you didn't know when to shut up", he said. "Know how we deal with bad dogs here?"
Scott's eyes went wide as the first guy smiled.
…
Xavier's car screeched to a halt beside Grady's as they arrived at the warehouse where the dog fight was supposed to take place. Just ahead of them, Hooch ran towards the sound of Scott's screaming.
"Oh, my God, we found it", said Laura, her eyes going wide. "Okay, Matty? Stay here with your dad. I'm gonna go find your uncle."
"But Mom, what about all the dogs that are trapped here?"
"Don't worry, sweetie; we're gonna help them out, too. I promise."
Matt nodded.
"Now you just stay right there."
Laura kissed her son's forehead, and got out of her car.
Xavier got out of his car and drew his gun, motioning for Erica to stay put. As Grady opened his door, he yelped as Nuke jumped into his lap and out into the grass, taking off at top speed towards the warehouse.
…
Scott Turner's ears rang as he was dragged into the warehouse by the back of his jacket.
"Who's this clown?" a man standing over him said.
"A US Marshal", said Hollis, standing nearby. "He came to shut us down."
"With no backup?" the man laughed. "That wasn't real smart, was it?"
Scott sighed.
"Stick him in my office for now", Hollis said to the two guys holding him. 'We'll deal with him after the fight."
"Think about what you're doing, Walton!" Scott called as he was dragged away. "This won't end well for you!"
"You talk too much", the second guy holding him said.
They stopped as the first man pulled a rag from his back pocket and tied it securely over Scott's mouth. Scott was then tossed into Walton's office, landing with a groan as he was left in the darkness once more.
"That takes care of him", said the second guy. "Now let's-"
He was cut off as Hooch tackled him to the ground.
"What the-!" the first guy exclaimed, only to be attacked by Nuke.
Scott heard his two captors struggling outside.
"Wait a minute", he thought. "Is that-"
"Get off me, you stupid dog!" he heard one of the men say.
"Hmch!" Scott yelled through his gag, squirming on the floor. "Hmch, I en ere!"
Hollis growled as he watched Hooch and Nuke attack the men.
"Unbelievable!" he said.
"US Marshals, freeze!"
Xavier came into the warehouse, brandishing his gun.
"Get down on the ground! You're under arrest!" he yelled.
"Get him!" Hollis demanded, and the rest of his men opened fire.
Patrons ran screaming for cover as a gunfight ensued.
"I got these guys!" Xavier said as Laura and Erica ducked down behind him. "You go find Scott!"
"Okay."
Laura nodded and stayed low as she entered the warehouse, Erica hot on her heels. Erica yelped as bullets landed and Angel barked.
"Scott!" she called.
"Scotty, where are you?!" Laura exclaimed.
Locked up on the floor of Walton's office, Scott could hear his sister's voice.
"Hlmp!" he called as loud as he could, pounding his bound ankles on the floor. "Hlmp, I en ere!"
"Erica, listen!"
Laura could hear a faint pounding behind the door a few feet away from her.
"Scotty?!"
"Lma!"
Hooch crawled on top of the guy he had tackled and pulled a set of keys from his jacket pocket.
"Hooch, keys!" Laura said, and the dog brought them over to her. "Good boy."
Laura quickly found the right key to the office and threw open the door. She gasped.
"Scott!"
Laura knelt down and made quick work of freeing her brother from the tape.
"Scott!"
Erica came in and tore the gag from his mouth.
"Oh, my God, are you okay? I was so worried!"
Erica froze as she realized what she had said.
"Uh, that is, we. We were worried. A-about you."
The girls shrieked as glass shattered around them.
"How did you guys find me?" Scott said once he was free.
"Hooch found you", said Erica. "We just followed."
"Hooch."
Scott grunted as the Dogue de Bordeaux pounced on top of him and licked him.
"Oh, I never thought I'd be so happy to feel that tongue", Scott laughed. "Oh, I'll never leave you again, boy; I'll never leave you again. Forever dog, for real this time."
Scott got up and left the office to see Xavier rounding up the dogfighting gang.
"X?"
"Scott!"
Xavier nodded in his direction.
"Glad you're okay, man."
"Y-you got 'em!"
"Yeah; yeah, we did."
Scott chuckled and then his face fell.
"Wait a minute...wait, where's Walton?"
Laura looked around frantically, but the man was nowhere in sight.
"Oh, my God", she realized. "Matty."
…
Walton Hollis let out a growl of frustration as his men lost the battle with Xavier. That's when he spotted Laura's kid with a goofy-looking cop. Hollis smiled and snuck up behind him.
"So that cat just won't move for ya, huh, buddy?" Grady was saying to his son.
Matt shook his head.
"Not once."
Just then, Hollis struck Grady on the back of the head, knocking him out.
"Dad!" Matt exclaimed.
He turned and started to run before he heard the cocking of a gun behind him.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, kid", said Hollis, holding Grady's gun. "Now, turn back around and walk towards me, real slow."
Matt slowly turned and walked over to Hollis, shaking.
"That's right."
As Matt reached him, Hollis grabbed the kid by the waist.
"Let me go!" Matt exclaimed. "Help!"
Hollis covered the kid's mouth and carried him over to his truck just as Laura and Scott ran out of the warehouse. Laura gasped as she spotted her terrified child squirming to get away.
"No!" she screamed.
"Let go of my nephew, Walton!" Scott exclaimed, drawing the gun Xavier had given him.
"You follow me, he dies!" Hollis yelled.
He opened the door and shoved Matt inside, keeping Grady's gun trained on the kid's temple.
"Don't do it!" Scott yelled.
But it was too late. Hollis peeled out of the grass with the screeching of tires and disappeared onto the main road.
…
Nuke trotted over to Grady and whined. The dog started licking his face, reviving him. Grady groaned and sat up to see Laura in Scott's arms, crying.
"Laura?" he said groggily. "What happened?"
Scott looked over at him and shook his head.
"Matt's gone", he said shakily.
To Be Continued…
