Nikki was sitting at her desk, going over some paperwork with a slight frown on her face as she tried to focus, her mind wandering to the Halloween party Jack had told her he was having that night, realising she still hadn't picked out a Halloween costume before she looked across the room to Simone, standing up as she made her way over to her desk. "Simone? Have you got your costume for Jack's party yet" Nikki asked as she stood beside the desk, Simone looking up at her from what she was working on. "Yeah, I picked it out yesterday, have you got yours yet?" Simone asked as she leaned back in the chair. Nikki took a deep breath before shaking her head. "Not yet, I was wondering if you might help?" "Of course I will" Simone gave her a reassuring smile before she stood up. "Come on, we'll go now" she said as she pulled on her jacket, Nikki moving back to her desk to do the same before she left a quick note for Jack, explaining where they had gone as they left the building.

A few hours went by and they still hadn't found a costume as they entered one of the final stores they planned on visiting, Nikki and Simone splitting up to cover more ground within the store, wandering down separate aisles before Simone spotted the perfect costume, knowing how Jack felt about Nikki and how it would definitely take his breath away. Smirking to herself, she picked it up before going in search of Nikki, finding her in one of the aisles, a crushed velvet blue cape held in her hands. "I found the perfect costume for you" Simone held up the dress, Nikki's eyes widening as she looked at it. "It's so beautiful" Nikki said softly as she took the dress from Simone, running her hand across the fabric. "Wait til Jack sees you in it, I doubt he would be able to take his eyes off you" Simone teased as they headed towards the tills, Nikki just rolling her eyes with a small laugh as she paid for the dress and the cape before they walked out of the store."I doubt that very much" Nikki said softly as they headed back to where she had parked her car. "Well, I've never seen anyone look at you the way Jack does" Simone just shrugged as they reached Nikki's car, placing the bags into the back before they both got into it, Nikki driving in the direction of Simone's so she could drop her off and then head home to get ready for Jack's party. Nikki arrived home about 20 minutes after dropping off Simone at hers, heading straight upstairs to get ready. After having a quick shower and drying her hair, she sat down at the small table in her bedroom, carefully applying some make-up before starting to curl her hair, realising how long it had gotten over the past few months. Once she had finished curling her hair, she took the dress from where it was hanging up, running her hand gently over the red silk before she carefully put it on, looking in the mirror as soon as she had done, taking a deep breath as she realised how different she looked before checking the time, silently cursing as she realised she was going to be late, quickly grabbing the blue cape as she made her way downstairs, putting the cape on as she grabbed her keys, heading out of the front door, making sure to lock up behind her. Nikki got into her parked car, turning on the ignition as she started to drive towards Jack's, her nerves getting the better of her the closer she got, parking outside his as soon as she arrived, taking a deep breath as she got out of the car, heading up the path towards the front door, smiling slightly at the decorations Jack had placed outside, consisting of several tombstones, a ghost, some pumpkins and skeletons. Nikki raised her hand before knocking at the door, waiting patiently for someone to answer, biting her lip.

Jack looked up as soon as he heard the knock on the door from where he was talking with his dad before he made his way down the hall, being careful not to trip over the cape he was wearing, knowing exactly who was at the door, given that the others had already arrived. Jack opened the door, a smile instantly on his face as he saw Nikki "Better late than never" he teased before she just smirked, giving him a quick hug as he stepped back to let her in. "Sorry about that, I didn't realise the time" Nikki said softly, taking off the cape she was wearing as Jack closed the door before he turned, stopping in his tracks as soon as he noticed what she was wearing, his eyes running over her as he took her in the red dress with the gold belt around the waist and the criss cross pattern on the sleeves before he snapped out of it. "And what are you supposed to be?" He asked from where he was stood by the door, unable to take his eyes off her. "A medieval sorceress" Nikki replied as she did a little twirl, a dangerous glint in her eye before she took in his costume "And I guess you're King Arthur?" she said softly as she looked at him, taking in the red cape with a gold dragon on it he was wearing with chainmail underneath and a fake sword hanging at his waist. Jack just nodded, unable to speak for a moment, composing himself before he whispered "I think you nailed it" as he watched her walk down the hall into the living room, her blonde hair falling in soft curls down her back as he heard her greet the others before he went to join them, a small smile on his face as he stood beside Nikki, not noticing the look Simone was giving him as he glanced at Nikki out the corner of his eye as she spoke with his dad and Cara. A few hours later, Simone and Cara had left and Conor had headed off to bed, leaving just Nikki & Jack who were now sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn between them, watching Stephen King's It. Nikki reached for some popcorn at the same time as Jack, their hands brushing together as they looked at each other, Nikki's cheeks turning a faint red as she gave him a small smile before interlacing their fingers gently, Jack keeping his eyes locked onto hers, the movie forgotten about as he pulled her closer, pressing a soft kiss to her hair as she snuggled into his side, his arm wrapping around her protectively before he glanced back down at her just as she looked back up at him, her hand resting against his chest before he started to close the gap between them, her eyes staying locked onto his before their lips touched, her hand instantly moving to his arm as he pulled her closer, one hand going into her hair as he deepened the kiss slightly before he broke the kiss, looking into her eyes as she bit her lip. "I love you" Jack whispered as he placed one hand on her back before she pressed a quick kiss to his lips again "I love you too" Nikki whispered back as she rested her head against his shoulder, snuggling into him as he held her close, a smile on his face, this really had been a Halloween to remember and for once, for all the right reasons.
