Chapter 1

3rd Person POV:

"I know I've said this like six times tonight, but it bears repeating; we did it!" Rose exclaimed gleefully, raising a glass.

"That we did," Poe said with a grin. "Hear, hear!" The cheer went around the group as they toasted to the end of the First Order. They turned suddenly as Finn spat out his drink over the side of the table.

"Ugh, God, what is that?" he spluttered, a look of disgust coating his face.

"That, my friend, is the finest cider of - unknown origin, the label's scratched off." Zorii said dryly as she set the bottle back down. Rey snickered, and quickly stifled it as Finn gave her a look of joking incredulity, prompting laughs from everyone else.

"Ok, all fun aside, there is the question to be asked of what now." Rey said slowly. The group went quiet, lost in thought.

"Well," Rose started, clearing her throat and breaking the silence. "I've been toying with a bit of a plan for a while now, since the destruction of Hosnian Prime, really… if we were to set up a delegation of sorts. Representatives from across the galaxy, leaders and such, discussing issues and sort of starting to rebuild society."

"Like the Senate? Because that worked out well." Beaumont interjected. He was rearranging some supplies nearby. Rey quickly frowned at him as Rose continued.

"I admit it had its ups and downs, but that's how democracy works. Hopefully, people will have lived through enough now to not repeat the galaxy's past mistakes. Besides, we won't have a Sith lord controlling operations from the inside. I believe the benefits outweigh the cost." Finn nodded.

"The Delegation. I like that."

"So do I." Rey said, giving Rose a warm look.

"Second!" Poe exclaimed, now slightly on the drunk side. "Or wait, third? Whatever. I'm in!" Everyone looked at Zorii.

"What they said." she agreed, after a brief pause of wondering why the attention was on her all of a sudden.

Another toast, this time to the promise of a new era of peace.

A/N: I couldn't quite figure out how to work in a specific description of the setting, so for clarification, the group is on Ajan Kloss, around one of the holoscreen tables. Also, there will be a time skip in the next chapter
