Hi everyone! Welcome to the next part of the series of my Twisted Wonderland series!
I'm super excited to start on the Heartslabyul arc.
If you are new to my story, I would like to say welcome! I would recommend reading the prologue (Welcome to Twisted Wonderland) first of this series which is available on this site.
Get ready to dive into the first official chapter of the series, and thank you for checking out my story!
Chapter 1:
Ace could hear the loud ticking from the clock above his head as he crept downstairs to his dorm's kitchen. It was the dead of the night, and while he didn't want to disturb the other residents of their beauty sleep, he actually didn't want to get caught for what he was about to do.
After today's events, he barely got out of expulsion from his school after doing that crazy magic crystal request Crowley had put him up to. While it was something to celebrate, he, unfortunately, missed dinner as a result, and his growling stomach overrode any sensible reasoning to wait until tomorrow morning for breakfast.
When he arrived, the kitchen was void of any living beings, the perfect opportunity for a midnight snack. Ignoring the light, he slowly inched his way across the room in the dark to where he guessed where the refrigerator was. Feeling out with his fingers, he finally felt the hard surface of the fridge and moved his hand down until his fingers wrapped around the handle. He pulled the door open, hoping someone left a pudding or maybe some fizzy drinks that wouldn't be missed. Instead, he saw three beautiful red tarts chilling on the shelves.
"Wow, these look good," Ace said with his eyes wide with shock. Someone must've gone to the store and bought them. Though why they want three whole tarts was strange. However, they shouldn't miss if he took a small piece.
Without thinking twice, he grabbed the nearest tart and set it down on the kitchen counter. Rubbing his hands together gleefully, he abandoned all etiquette and took a large bite. As he chewed on the pastry filling and crunchy outer texture, his eyes immediately widened with shock.
"Whoa!" he exclaimed, unable to contain his amazement, and scarfed down another bite, "This is really good!"
"Of course, it's delicious. Trey's tarts are nothing but the best," a voice said from the kitchen entryway.
"I've never had anything this good. Not even the stores have –" Ace choked on the tart as the light flickered on. Standing across from him was none other than the dorm head of Heartslabyul.
"You sure have some nerve, stealing things that belong to me," Riddle said, his grey eyes narrowed with disgust. "Queen of Hearts Law 89 states that 'one shall not eat a tart without the Queen's permission.'" He pointed his wand pen at the knave that dared to steal before him.
"Tart thievery is unforgivable! OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!"
Author's Notes
Short and to the point. XP
Also, I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that Ace stealing the tart and getting caught is a reference to "The Queen of Hearts" poem. Would be funny that was true.
As a way to celebrate the arrival of this new story, I will be posting the next chapter tomorrow! Make sure to fav/follow if you are interested to see the continuation of this. Reviews/comments will also help because they will gauge and determine whether I should continue to update on this site.
As a reminder, the chapters will typically be updated weekly every Friday unless announced otherwise.
Thank you for reading, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
