Garrus growled softly low in his throat as Nihlus' laughing face stared back at him.
"I don't remember inviting you to my family vacation, Nihlus," Garrus growled as he took a sip of his turian brandy and looked out the port observation.
"You might not have, but your lovely wife did," Nihlus' subharmonics filled the room with glee.
"Will you two shut up? Jeez you two are killing my buzz," Jack growled from across the table, a drink in her hand as she stared at them with an angry scowl on her face. "Who's bright idea was it to take us to Elysium? That place is freezing cold!" she scowled down at her drink and quickly drank down the bright pink fluid.
"Cold? Turians don't do well in the cold," Nihlus complained as he rested his head on his hand and stared at Garrus with a fake hurt expression.
"You two didn't have to come," Garrus growled as he glared at his two drinking partners.
"Jane said it's a vacation for all of us," Miranda said as she strolled in and wrapped an arm around Jack's waist. Causing the smaller woman to lightly nuzzle Miranda's neck. Miranda smiled at Jack's drunk affectionate gesture and reached for an empty glass, holding it mutely towards Nihlus who poured her a drink.
"We're also almost there. Jane sent me to look for you all," she turned curious eyes at the two male turians and raised her brow. "Well?"
Nihlus pushed back from the table and bowed, a smirk on his face as he made his way out the door with Garrus in tow.
"Garrus! Nihlus!" Lisa's voice echoed off the metal walls as she raced towards them, her face lit up by a smile.
"Hey pyjak! Didn't your mom say no running around?" Garrus' mock growled as he made to pounce on the little girl causing her to break into peals of laughter. Lisa screams playfully, causing the two Turians to wince slightly at the sharp peal of her laughter. "Nihlus! Save me!" She says running towards the other Turian, arms outstretched as Nihlus quickly picks up the little girl.
Garrus' mandibles flared in a grin. "Makes you think of getting your own?" He says teasingly before he keys in the elevator that will bring them to the CIC of the ship. "Why get my own when I can just borrow Jane's?" Nihlus counters as Lisa starts poking and prodding the inside of his cowl. "Hey now, little one. Your fingers are sharp!" He says with a mock growl, causing the little girl to laugh again. "Nu-uh! You and Garrus have pointy fingers!" She says pointing to Garrus' hand. "Ah yes, better to tickle you with!" Nihlus says, wiggling his fingers gently ever so gently against Lisa's side.
As the group cleared the elevator, Garrus' eyes drifted towards Jane as the woman leaned close to Liara's shoulder peering at something on the datapad held between them. "So we've booked one of the larger cabins here, yours and James is this one here." There was a pause as Liara nodded in agreement. "Jack and Miranda can stay with us in ours," Liara says softly and then looks up towards Garrus and Nihlus. "Nihlus, is going to be staying with you three." She gestures towards them in greeting, waving them over to look at the datapad. "I've also taken the liberty to make sure your armory chests have also been brought."
Nihlus looks to the datapad, shifting his arms to hold Lisa in a more comfortable position as the girl is now humming a song and poking at Nihlus' fringe. "I also have taken the liberty to book the surrounding houses just in case to afford us more privacy and a better defensible position."
Garrus frowned and shook his head, amusement coloring his subharmonics. "A vacation while preparing for anything to happen? Why am I not surprised?" He takes a closer look at the datapad before bringing his omni-tool up, with a few clicks of a button the image on the datapad shifted to replace the Galaxy Map. "I've never been to Elysium before but this ridge here would look good for an ambush. I'll make sure we'll have some men patrolling the area and looking as casual as possible."
"Jane, we've been cleared for landing." EDI's voice echoed briefly in the room, causing everyone to look up. "Joker and I will remain on the ship, I believe it would not be prudent for the population to see an unshackled AI walking around."
"Alright gang, let's have ourselves a nice vacation," Jane says with a rueful laugh, feeling a touch of relief that no one had thought it strange that despite it being a family vacation, that they were planning for any possible outcome. The group dispersed, everyone moving to gather their things from their respective bunks, leaving Garrus and Jane standing in the CIC alone. He took a step closer to her, a small flare of his mandibles as Jane's eyes met his. He lowered his forehead against hers and sighed. "Do you think…?" He says eyes closed and a soft rumbling purr came from his chest.
"I know," Jane says just as softly, arms moving to wrap lightly around his waist as she pressed against him briefly. Garrus' chin moved to rest on the top of her head. "They've been watching us for a while now. They'll have to make a move. Her chin rubbed against his chest, causing him to wince slightly. He marveled a bit that despite being soft and curvy, she had her own sharp angle, his hands moved to run his talons through her hair before he pulled away and leaned down placing a kiss on her lips. "Are you sure it's a good idea then to bring Lisa?"
She takes a moment to ponder this and nods. "It's still our vacation, our first family vacation," She looks up into his eyes and smiles. "We need this, to show them that humans and turians can co-exist and can live together as a family." Her fingers tightens around his briefly before she turns and pulls him towards the elevators. "Come on, we've got to get our gear, Nihlus will keep a close eye on Lisa and...by my counting we've a good fifteen minutes before we board the shuttle…" She says, turning her head and giving him a quick wink. "I'm sure we can fill that time with something more interesting to do, hm?"
Garrus did not need to be told twice, he pulled her into the elevator. Before the door even closed he had her pinned against the wall with her legs around his waist. Hands tangled in her hair as he kissed her deeply. It was strange to him, he never saw humans attractive, and yet his wife. His human wife has captivated him entirely. He chalked it up to the bondmark, but he thanked the Spirits that she also found him equally intoxicating.
Clothes came off, hands grasping at fringe, hair, skin and everything between. The Fifteen minutes passed too quickly for the lovers. But they managed to make it on the shuttle, ignoring the smug glances tossed their way as the group quickly arrived at the resort.
Yes, I'm back. I'll be working on this more frequently so at least expect a new chapter once every few days. I'm going to admit, I never put much thought what kind of vacation resort Elysium is suppose to be. I've pulled up the wiki and still drawing blanks, so please forgive me for taking some liberties.
