Hi Kat,
Hogwarts is beautiful. It's up in the highlands surrounded by a forest. There's a massive lake on the grounds, and the school itself is a miraculously well preserved castle, though that means there's a lot of stairs and no lifts.
The first night was interesting. They have all of the First year students take a test and put us into teams based on the answer. I got put on the Eagles team, which is known for being highly intelligent and creative. The other teams are the Lions Snakes and Badgers. Lions, known for Bravery, Badgers are loyal, and snakes are ambitious. You stay on your team for all seven years!
Each team has their own common room with attached dorms. The eagles are up in one of the highest towers and the view is amazing. You can see the majority of the grounds, including the lake. I think the only thing that spoils the view is the Athletics field, but it's not even bad, it's just not as pretty as the rest of the grounds.
The dining Hall is MASSIVE. There's the teachers table at one end of the room, and then four more tables that run the length of the room, one for each team. We had a big feast in there last night and the food was amazing. Some of the older students told me that at dinner, we have to sit with our teammates, but the rest of the time no one cares. I just sat with the girls from my dorm. I don't know anyone else here yet. I barely know them.
Anyway, My first class starts soon. I'll write more tomorrow. Tell Your parents I say "Hi"
Sincerely,
Cassandra Carson

Rox, it's official,
My life is the worst. You can call it. I thought I was getting a new chem teacher, but I was wrong. Apparently, Humphrey got a promotion of sorts and followed me to Secondary school. Why must my life be like this. Hopefully things are going better for you, I can't wait to hear about your adventures at your grandfather's school.
Your bestest - and coolest- friend in the whole wide world,
Kat
P.S. enclosed is a picture of me and patty* on our first day of school.
P.P.S. He has already eaten all of the cookies you and your family made him.

I sat stiff at the hufflepuff table, arms at my side, zoned out, in my Hufflepuff robes watching the Ravenclaw girl write a letter with a pencil and piece of lined paper. She must be talking to a Muggle, but she was so quiet, and the hat didn't even touch her head before screaming out 'RAVENCLAW!,' I wonder who her friend is. Maybe it's her mom? Wait, why do I care? Noo, she's leaving! Wait, are those cat treats she pulled from her bag? Awww that's So kind, I wonder if she's got a cat. Oh, fuck, I'm monologging. I shook my head and cleared my thoughts again, Stupid ADHD. I folded back the letter in my hand from Kat, and put it in my bag, reminding myself to respond later. I snagged my Expansion charmed backpack from between my legs, and proceeded to pull out several tupperware containers, filling each with a different snack for my have breaks, but they don't feed you enough here, three meals is not enough to keep an athlete sated, my Momma says this all the time. Once everything was packed into my bag, I got up and looked again at the parchment with my first class. History of Magic, unfortunately there was a loud boisterous collection of students, all in red and gold, blocking the passage. 'Gryffindors' I mumble, Daddy says Gryffindor is one of the Worst houses, rude and loud. I'm not to befriend them. And after they all blocked the passage for a full five minutes, I agree with him.
looking at the schedule again and noting the Flying classes on thursday, I thought to myself"I need to make Football a thing at the school so I don't have to fly, but right now I wish I could fly so im not late." And then I realised I was closer than I thought. I made it to the classroom with a quarter of an hour to spare. I sat my bag down in the doors' alcove and looked around. The hall was empty spare for the three scattered students reading. I noted the distance from the wall against my back, and the wall facing me, then sprinted across, tapped the wall, and dashed back. I looked around again, made sure the hall was still mostly empty, then casted a timing spell my parents taught me for training. It beeped a start and I dashed back and forth three times before running into another student. I thought it was a wall with feet that made me fly straight into the actual wall, facefirst. I slid to the ground and made into a sitting position feeling my head and legs. No twists or rolls, maybe a slight headboggle, I'm still safe to keep-
"Practicing your tackles, huh?"
"No, they were spr-" I looked up, and then up, and up. I mean. I'm only 4'9, and 11. This guy was.. He was a giant. 6'0 at least, He had to be a half Giant like Hagrid. "Holy fuck, where is your head?" I yelled up at him trying to get on my tippy toes to see his top half. He laughed Loudly and looked down at me.
"Haven't heard that one before, what's your name, Half- Cup?"
"It's actually Mischka, or Roxy, if you want the god given, How about yourself, giant" I teased back. Alexander Sohn shook my hand and made sure my head was okay. We talked for a small moment, then he waved goodbye and went to turn.
"Wait!" I yelled, He stopped, turned with an arched brow, and faced me, "How old are you?" I shyly asked, unsure of why I asked at all. He gave me a questioning look but answered, "12" Then turned and left me alone in the hall. My timer beeped its end and I jumped, tripping on my untied shoe and falling onto my bookbag, thank morgana mom remembered the safety charms on my bag. I grabbed it and tied my shoes as the rest of the students filled around and the doors opened on their own. I found a seat near the front, But away from the teachers desk, and set my bag down, pulling out my history of magic book, a spiral notebook, an ink pot, and my favorite Quill from a dove my father sang to to get the feather, and my mother charmed herself to correct spelling and grammar for note taking. What kind of last name is Sohn I thought as I followed the notes and answered the teachers questions for the class, eating one of the small containers halfway through. After class was finished,I checked my schedule to seeI had no other classes for the day. I remembered to write out the letter to Kat. I tried to find a room quiet enough for me to write, but all of the doors were either locked or full of classes. I managed to find my way up to the seventh floor corridor, and started to pace. 'I just want a quiet room' I think. And across from a tapestry of dancing trolls (how odd) a door appeared with a bright pink knob that looked like the one from my room. I opened the door, and thought my grandfather relocated my bedroom from home. My pink walls, my black desk, and my big four poster bed sitting smack dab in the middle of the room. I squeezed, ran into the room, and jumped onto my bed. I Fumbled in my bag for some papers and my pen, and wrote back to my closest friend in the muggle world.
Kat, That may be the only demon I will ever call cute.
I am so sorry to hear chem is going to be hell. But you aren't alone! My chem teacher is a greasy git who favors his dorm students, and for some reason, my dorm is always laughed at! But I got this cute new uniform with yellow and black! I almost look like a bumble bee (drawing of a bumblebee) I made a friend with a giant, hes really nice, and hes in the Green Dorm
Anyway, grandpa lets me visit home every weekend, and all I have to do is bake him cookies. I miss you, keep me updated!
-the only human who might actually be worth your time,
Roxy.
PS. enclosed is more cookies for Patty, don't let him eat them all at once!

Lights up on The Robinson Family room. Kat walks through the door.
Kat: Momma…. I'm home. (tosses book bag on couch, flops down next to bag)
Barb: (walks in) Ohh Good you have a letter from a (squints eyes) miss Cassandra
Kat: Momma Give me tha letter.
They play keep away for a bit then Barb hands over the letter.
Kat reads the letter
Barb: Brenda is sending off a letter in the morning. Maybe if you get your response to her and ask her nicely, she'll send yours with it.
Kat: (tearing letter open, half paying attention to Brenda): Alright momma, I'll do tha. (runs upstairs to read the letter and rummages for her pen and some paper)
Cass enters downstage. Read the letter.
Cass! Your new school sounds so cool! Meanwhile I'm still going to my boring school. Without my friend this year. Your letter got to me real fast, considering how slow snail mail is. Your momma said it was like magic or somethin when i tried to ask her about it. Speaking about your momma, she's doing fine, but she has been picking up more hours at the hospital. Just thought I'd give ya a report. The weekends are boring without you here, and I think the cats from down the street miss ya. They keep coming to the front yard. Momma keeps sending Patrick to scare them off, but they're back every morning. Anyway. My school is just that, a school. No interesting castles or teams to play on. Just "Group unity". Write me back when you can, although I may not see it till next weekend or later.
From basically your sister,
Kat.
Ps. haven't seen your dad since you left, though I'll keep you posted if he stops by.
