As exams ended and Christmas are coming close, the atmosphere and the student's mood began to lighten up. The 1A girls decorated the dorm common space with lights and festive decorations, a short relaxing break from the stress of hero training. While some students were bummed about missing Christmas and New Years with their families, most were content with celebration with their friends, their new families.
Earlier in the day, Aizawa left Eri in the hands of Mirio and Midoriya, he told them he needed to pick up something. As far as Midoriya knew, this would be the first time that Eri had a chance to celebrate Christmas so it was his duty to make sure it would be memorable. Along side Mirio, they spend the days cutting out snowflakes from paper and making a snow man outside.
When Aizawa-sensei finally came back, it turns out something was actually someones. He walked into the common room with suitcases in each hand and accompanied by two women and a guy. UA has had their fair share of visitors, but normally they're other pro hero that Midoriya could easier recognize or Aizawa would at least warn them beforehand if reporters were coming. Midoriya did not recognize these people, and they didn't really look like pro-hero or journalist. Midoriya knew that appearance could be deceive, it's not like Aizawa looked like much of pro with his messy hair and general tired look. The first women had long dark dreadlocks which she style into a sort of half up due with random strays framing her face. She looked like the kinda of person to frequent music festival and drink kambucha. The guy was a foreigner with short blond hair and a goofy looking smile. Before then, Midoriya didn't actually think this type of guy was real. He thought that these types of guys were a Hollywood invention, just like crazy parties and red plastic cups. But there he was, wearing gym shorts in the middle of winter. The other women had the total opposite look. She looked like she just got here from Ginza or Paris or New York or somewhere like that. Her black hair was neatly tied into an elegant bun which showed off her high cheeks bones and dark red lip sticks. Despite it snowing outside, she worn a short slim fitting dress underneath her oversize fur winter coat.
"Wow UA has changed for much since my years, hasn't it Shouta?" said the women with the dreads. Midoriya didn't even register the she was talking to Aizawa at first, since he's never someone speak so casually to him before.
"Um, Aizawa-sensei… Who are…" Uraraka started to ask. The rest of the class looked equally as curious about their visitors.
"Introduce yourself," Aizawa told them as he walked away to put away the suitcases in his room.
"Nice to meet everybody. I'm Aizawa Shoko, I'm your teacher's sister. This is our youngest sister Tsuyoka, and my boyfriend Chad," Tsukoya and Shoko bowed their head, Shoko with her hand together as if she was praying. Chad looked confused of a second, then copied what Shoko did.
"What up" Chad said in English, with a small wave and a nod. He had a very vaccinate expression, as if his mind was in a completely different place.
Once Midoriya heard "sister" he could see the family resemblance, even their general style was completely different. Midoriya could only image the mismatched family pictures. The image of his teacher taking a family portrait while he napped in his sleeping bad did make him laugh a little. The three of the were slim and tall, with the same dark hair. The main different is that it actually looks like Shoko and Tsuyoka spend a healthy amount of time in the sun and get a decent amount of sleep.
The room burstle into excitement and whispers. Some introduced themselves while other gossiped with each other. Tsuyoko-san looks so familiar, where have I seen her before? Isn't she a model? Wait is she the one what was dating Pressure hero? As soon as Kaminari and Mineta hear model, they exchanged a look with each other and proceed to pull of their phones to look her up. They both started to drool as soon as they found some particularly provocative photographs of Tsuyoka in a bikini.
"Wow it's so nice to meet you! Aizawa-sensei never told us he had any siblings! Is it true that you're a model Ms. Aizawa? Can we all get a picture with you, please?" Ururaka beamed from excitement with stars in her eyes.
"What was Aizawa-sensei like as a kid?" Mina asked excitedly. This is probably the only time they could get personal information about their teacher, she thought.
"Ururaka, Mina, please let them settle down first," Yayorozu said.
"It's a pleasure to have you here, I hope you find you safe welcome and informative. If I'm not mistaken, were you a student here Ms. Aizawa?"
"Yes, we all were. But Yoka and I was in general studies,"
"Aizawa-sensei! How dare you not tell us your sisters are total ba-" Mineta's sentence was cut short as he found himself tied up by Aizawa's scarf.
"I've invited my sister to see if they can help Mirio get his quirk back. They'll only be here for tonight, so I expect all of you to be on your best behavior and not to bother them," he spoke, "I'm going to get Mirio.." Aizawa said as he walked away.
"Excuse me miss, how exactly can you help Mirio-senpai," Midoriya asked excitedly, notebook and pen ready in hand.
"My quirk is kinda like your teacher's, but it requires physical contact. It can permently erase someone's quirk. I can also undue it."
"I can boost anyone's quirk by looking at them, so I just here to help Shoko out,"
"Oh cool! So it's like the opposite of sensei's" Kirishima said.
"What is your quirk Mr. Chad," Midoriya's English lessons finally came in handy.
"So like my spit is kinda like weed, it's dope," Chad replied, but Midoriya had a hard time understanding his slang.
"His salvia produces a balance of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and Cannabidiol," Shoko translated. "I invited him since he's never been to Japan before so we're planning on seeing Tokyo later,"
"Shoko, Tsuyoko. This way. He's going to Mirio's room,"
"Sir can I please go? I'm really interested to learn about their quirks,"
"If it's okay with Mirio and Shoko then I don't care,"
They all walked away, leaving Chad to sit on the coach and pull out his vape.
"Um excuse me, Mr. Chad, UA prohibits the use of electronic cigarettes on UA's campus,"
"Oh my bad,"
"Before we get started Mirio-san, let's light from incense to cleanse the room and our bodies. It's vital to create a relaxing and safe space for this to be effective. Why don't we also say a short prayer to-"
"Oh my God, Shoko we don't have all day, let's move past you hippie bullshit."
"No it's fine. Whatever you need Aizawa-san," Mirio said. Tsuyoka let out a groan of annoyance.
"Fine, then I'm getting a drink."
Shoko had Mirio follow her in a room cleansing ceremony, a series of movement to open up his chakras and a conversation about why he wanted his quirk back and how his life would improve with it. During this time, Tsuyoko left and came back with a beer. Midoriya, as expected, as eager jotting everything down. Later Midoriya and Mirio would be told by Aizawa-sensei that this is what his sister did for a living. She removed quirks, usually from the elderly or other who's quirk was an inconvenience to their lives. Someone's parents who contact Shoko to remove their quirks until they're more emotionally mature. Shoko charged quite a bit, so where the ritual was actually necessary to the process or if she just did it for show Midoriya did not know.
After what seemed like forever pasted, Shoko asked Mirio to sit on the floor with her, hold her hands and close his eyes. Tsuyoka took a slip from coffee before placing it on Mirio's school desk and activated her quirk. Her eyes had a similar glow to Eraser's, except for they had a yellowish tint instead of Eraser's red.
Midoriya didn't know what to except but it didn't look like anything was actually happening. After a bit, Shoko instructed Mirio to open his eye and try to use his quirk. He let know of one of her hands and place the other of the floor. Shoko gave his hand a reassuring squeeze in support. He concentrated on phrasing his hand through the floor, something that had become second nature during his time at UA. Tsuyoka changed her gaze to Mirio from Shoko, for an added boost.
Nothing.
Mirio had just sat of the hardwood floor.
"I'm sorry, it doesn't look like I can do anything…" she said as she let go of his other hand, "My quirk works a lot like Shouta's, the main different is that while his only temporary blocks the quirk gene expression, mine is able to block it indefinitely. It's as if I can deactivate it. I can create ribozymes that can cleave mRNA molecules and essentially silence the quirk related genes. I can't say for sure but this makes me think there something completely different happening in your genome. Mirio-san, do either of your parents or do you have any siblings have the same quirk as you? Or do you have any samples from before the incident? Like some strands of hair, I know some researchers in the US can now form a complete DNA sample from hair. I know some people at Todai and Stanford that might be willing to do further research."
Togota face fell, his eyes staring at his hands. Well, I guess that what I get for getting my hopes up, he thought.
"Thanks Ms. Aizawa, but I don't want to waste anyone's time. I'll just have to wait for Eri-chan to have better control over her quirk, huh"
"Why don't you look into it, Shoko? Wasn't it always your dream to get a phd in molecular biology to study quirks? Isn't that why you're in the States?"
Shoko glared at him, clearly a sore subject.
"Leave her alone Shouta, she's already smarter than both of us combined. She'll go back when she feels like it,"
"Look I'm just saying you won't be 26 forever, you might want to start looking into-"
"Oh my God, not this again. When the timing is right fate will give me a sign to go back to school, "
Mirio and Midoriya exchanged awkward looks, clearly in discomforted over having to listen to their teacher's family drama.
"As glad as I am it's finally not me that has to listen to Shota's 'concerns over my wellbeing and life decisions' I don't think these two care. Let's go and get something to drinks. We'll give you two minutes max to tell us everything we're doing wrong and about how mom would be disappointed," Tsuyoka said without looking up from her phone, "Mirio, Midoriya, is was nice to meet you. Sorry we couldn't help," She stood up and bowed her head before walking away.
Aizawa signed, "Yoka is right. Let's go Shoko,"
"Yeah ok. I'll go get Chad. I'm really sorry Mirio, even if live has given you this hardship, we must remember that everything happens for a reason. If fate sees it, soon you'll have your quirk again," Shoko said before following Aizawa.
Mirio stood in silence for a long time. It's been weeks since his life was turned upside down, since his career, his future was taken away from him. Aizawa-sensei had warned him before hand, that it was very unlikely that his sister would actually be able to do anything due to the nature of how he lost his quirk. But, was it really a crime to hope? That this was the magically solution to his biggest problems. A chance to have his dream again. I guess not, I'm just have to keep waiting.
"Mirio-senpai, are you ok?" Mirio must have been quite for too long.
"Yeah, I'm fine! This just means I'll have to train Eri so she can help me when she's older," Mirio smiled wide, hoping that Midoriya would buy it, "You know what this also means? You'll just have to work twice as hard for me,"
"Uh yeah, of course, senpai!"
