Last Chapter:
'I feel a small pressure on my forehead, that causes me to look up, just as two people stumble out of the portal.'
Dipper's POV:
The glowing light from the portal vanishes abruptly, causing me to get spots in my vision, leaving two people in its place.
As my vision adjusts, I immediately recognize the one with blue hair as Will.
But who is the other guy?
I note that they're looking around confused and idly talking.
I stand up, since the rapid spiraling caused me to land on the ground.
The one with brown hair's eyes immediately dart towards me as I do, and he does this half-shielding move, half-standing in front of Will,
I slightly hold my hands up.
"I'm not going to hurt you or Will." I say in a calming tone.
The brown haired one gives me a suspicious look.
Will pipes up.
"How do you know my name?"
He steps in front of the mystery guy and the mystery guy sighs.
I half-smile.
"Bill told me all about you. He's been trying to find you since the day he sent you away to protect you."
"Wait your brother's been looking for you? How didn't we know that?" The stranger asks Will.
"Since he sent you away Will your connection grew weaker and weaker until one day he stopped feeling you at all. When that happened he thought you died and it broke him..." I reply, even though I wasn't the one asked.
Will slightly gasps.
I note some tears gathering in his eyes.
"So he's been trying to find me this whole time? I thought he forgot about me..."
The brown haired one gently turns Will towards him and pulls him into his arms, an act that reminds me of Bill.
I don't even notice when the tear streaks down my face, I just notice my vision getting blurry.
The mystery guy apparently noticed though.
"Hey are you okay?" He asks me.
I slightly shake my head no, hunching my shoulders and staring at the ground, as a few more spill out.
"Where is Bill anyway?" He gentles his tone.
I can barely get out the word.
"He's d-d-de-dead." I stutter, my voice becoming shaky.
I pull the sleeves of his hoodie over my fingers and clutch it in my hands.
Will, who stopped crying around the time I started, gasps.
"Dead?? My brother's dead?!" He says in a trembling tone.
I briefly nod my head and try to breath in and out normally and slow down my heartbeat.
I try to remind myself that I can get him back.
It doesn't really go over well because one minute I'm on my feet and the next I'm on the ground, being helped up by the guy.
I stand again with his help and I dry my eyes with the sleeves on this hoodie.
"S-sorry." I say, slowly recovering from my fainting spell.
At that moment it seems Will spots the ring Bill gave me, on the chain around my neck.
"You were going to get married weren't you? You were in love." Will asks.
I nod.
"Yes. Yes we were."
I do that pose, half-looking down, one arm holding the other right above the elbow.
"But that's why you're here." I say quietly, then continue. "You can help bring him back..."
"I can?" Will asks.
"Mhm. You're his twin and so share the same blood, which is what the spell requires."
Will and mystery guy talk at the same time.
"You didn't just bring me here to bring my brother back, did you?" Will joked, which I don't realize.
"What spell?" The guy asks.
I reply, "No. No of course not! Obviously Bill wants to see you again and I wanted to meet you..."
"It was just a joke mah duuuuuuddde." Will says in a stereotypical surfer guy tone, causing a slight laugh to erupt from me.
"Ok." I say, after laughing for a minute.
Then I look at mystery guy, "I'll explain in a minute. First, what's your name? I'm pretty sure it isn't 'mystery guy'." I joke at the end.
The guy cracks a smile and chuckles.
"No I'm afraid not. I'm Mason." He holds out his hand for me to shake.
I don't realize but give him a slight confused look.
As I'm doing so, my mind puts the pieces together.
Bill mentioned that in parallel dimensions, everyone has a different version of themselves.
So I guess he's mine.
"What?" He asks.
An embarrassed blush creeps its way up my face.
"Sorry. I was just thinking about something Bill told me about parallel dimensions. Nice to meet you. My name is Mason too, but everyone calls me Dipper." I shake his outstretched hand.
"Oh cool. So you're the different version of me here." Mason states.
"Yeah I guess so. That's actually what I was thinking about..."
"Oh." He adds, then slightly smiles.
"So how can we help you get your man back?" He asks, jokingly wiggling his eyebrows.
I laugh and begin to explain.
"Well first I'm going to tell you basically what's happened since you've been gone," I say looking over at Will.
Will nods.
"Then I'll explain." I add.
-Time Skip-
I wrap up my story, not realizing I was showing them certain memories that Bill showed me, since retelling his story is distressing, because I miss him so much.
Will cried multiple times due to the happenings in my tale, not that I blame him.
I had to stop many times to collect myself.
And at some point we all recognized we were each demons.
"So yeah. That's what you missed Will." I say.
He looks on the brink of tears again.
"That's awful... what he went through..." Will says quietly.
I silently agree.
"If I'd known he's been looking for me this whole time..." Will says, not finishing his thought.
Mason pulls him in for a hug,
"I know Blue..."
He holds him, again reminding me of how Bill would hold me.
I look away before the tears flood my vision once again.
Once Will calms down again, his breath no longer shaking, I hear him pipe up.
"What do Burning Tree and I need to do?" He asks in a determined voice.
I begin to explain.
"Well since you're his twin, we need to go to the spot he was shot with the arrow, aka our porch, but first we need to go get his body... And will, since you're his twin I need a little of your blood."
Will makes a slight uncomfortable look, but nods determinedly.
"It's not a lot I promise." I add, knowing that the sight of blood makes him sick, as he'd mentioned when we were talking.
He nods again, looking a bit more at ease.
"And I'd say, since there are three of us, we probably have to link hands in a circle, his body in the middle of us. And for there to be an equal balance, I have to shed some blood to, since he's mine... Mason I'm betting you have to be our anchor and don't really have to do much except make sure we come back from the other side of the veil and that our hands stay linked."
After explaining, I look at them.
They nod, indicating they understand.
I nod in return and start walking, indicating for them to follow.
