A/N: Inspired by a double date themed story from Mat49328, and The Blue Time Ranger, if I got the names right, though set in my own TS universe. Enjoy.
"We're here." Clover told her boyfriend. He could see they were pulling up to a nice looking Beverly Hills restaurant for their lunch date with two other couples.
"Good. I think Alex needs this more than we do."
"You're probably right."
The blonde struggled to keep it together as she thought of her Hispanic friend. Alex had been abducted and tortured by a former WOOHP agent in Georgia when the group was investigating a series of murders. The agent, Tobias something, had turned out to have three personalities. His normal one, who wouldn't hurt a fly, one based off his late father, who'd abused him for years, and the last based off an archangel type of character, who'd tried to kill her. Clover had been the one to shoot him, as much as she didn't want to do it, but, it had saved Alex's life.
The athlete was struggling with an addiction to a pain killer, one Tobias had used to "help" her during her time in captivity.
Alex and Andrew were next to arrive, with Lancel and Sam being the last. First, drinks were ordered. White wine for Robert, sweet tea for Clover and Sam, coca cola's for Andrew and Alex, and for Lancel, lemonade. Their food was next. A pizza for Sam and Lancel, a fried chicken combo meal for Alex and Andrew, which came with fries and a side of their choice, both going for garlic bread, and for Robert and Clover a pub platter-like meal, fried fish and a large order of fries.
"How're you doing?" Clover asked Alex as she poured Robert a glass of the wine.
"I should be back to myself in no time. I'll give Jerry credit, he really does know some of the best doctors in town."
Andrew bit into his garlic bread, nodding.
"I'm still, like freaked out, I mean-" Clover started.
"If you hadn't done what you did, Alex wouldn't be here." Sam cut in.
Andrew laid a hand on the blonde's shoulder.
"You did what you had to do. It was self-defense."
"He's right." Lancel explained, speaking for the first time. "You weren't given a choice."
"Thanks. Just hope I won't have to take a risk like that again."
Robert looked at her over his wine glass.
"You'll be fine. I'm just glad Jerry's letting us rest after a mission like that."
"Same here. He really felt we neded it." Andrew told them, after swallowing a bite of chicken. "He actually recommended this place, something about someone he knew from England being a former chef or something."
Lancel giggled.
"When you said Jerry had connections, figured you were trying to impress me."
Soon, most of the food and drinks were gone, Robert draining his second glass of wine. Lancel, who never touched the stuff, and probably never would, was impressed at how lucid the Tennessee native appeared. 'Must have a high tolerance for alcohol.' He thought.
Sam had to smile at the blonde Westeros native. She'd saved his life, and both had grown closer as a result. If only she wouldn't be nervous about asking him as her date to the upcoming WOOHP picnic, this year, being held in Berlin, though she was sure he'd accept the invitation. She did ask him later that night, and he accepted.
At her own house, Alex felt more relaxed than she had in days. She soon spotted the two remaining pills in the bottle. She soon thought about taking one or both to get her through the night, but thought better of it, leaving them where they were.
