"To most of the nation this was a day of celebration, November eighth 2024 marked the day after the end of one of the greatest tragedies in recent memory as just almost six-thousand people awoke for the first time in two years. But to the young man who freed them it felt as though his life had ended. Kirigaya Kazuto had spoken to the authority's shortly after waking and had quickly tracked down the women he loved Asuna Yuki, overjoyed that she was alive desperate the final moments of SAO. She was alive, and awake he some how got the officialese and doctors to let him see her the day after everyone awoke; and it was because of that all of the joy black Swordsman turned to pain. Asuna had died three seconds and some few milliseconds before Heathclith moments after the grace peered had ended and in those milliseconds the nerve gear tried to kill her but failed owing to the games ending; but owing to those short moments Asuna now suffered brain damage all memory's after about a month prior to the dive where gone, any attempt to recall would send the young women into a state not unlike an epileptic seizure. Her family forbid any contact with SAO survivors to spare the girl anymore suffering Kazuto didn't fault them for that but it did nothing for the pain he felt. Fending off a mental brake down of his own Kazuto took some small joy in the fact that Asuna wouldn't know the hardship she faced over the last two years, thinking instead this was the result of a fall. In that moment Kazuto wished that he could also forget the last two years.
