THEM!

Len surveyed the living room, mentally ticking off a checklist and counting down the minutes until Barry arrived. He'd told Barry to get there at about five, which meant he'd be there in about ten minutes at five-thirty, apologizing for being late. That was the first thing Len had learned to account for with Barry.

There was a ridiculous amount of popcorn popped, soda in the fridge, pizza set to deliver at five-forty-five, a nest of blankets on the couch for a snuggly speedster, and several old black and white sci-fi movies lined up for binge watching into the early hours of the morning. Mick knew Len was having a date night, so he ought to be out all night. And Lisa was evasive about her plans which generally meant she was having an evening with Cisco. Or Cisco and the nerd's boyfriend, Hartley.

Everything was all set and perfect.

There was a knock at the door at exactly five-thirty and Len grinned to himself as he walked to the door. And then he paused a moment to school his expression before opening the door.

"Hey, Len, I'm sorry I'm late," Barry apologized immediately, coming inside and kicking off his shoes by the entry as Len shut the door behind him. "There was a last minute crime scene and..."

Len cut him off with a kiss. "It's fine, Barry. Gave me extra time to set up."

"Or you told me thirty minutes earlier than you actually meant. Again." Barry grinned impishly. "Am I really that predictable?"

"Yes." Len smirked. "I've got the movies lined up. Go get comfortable and I'll set the first one. And there's rootbeer in the fridge, just for you. I want beer," he added as Barry zipped by the kitchen on his way to the couch.

"Got it," Barry promised, already wrapped up in the blanket nest, rootbeer and real beer sitting side by side on the coffee table. On coasters because, cheap table or not, Len was not getting water rings on his furniture.

Sauntering back into the living room, Len grabbed the first dvd case and popped the first movie into the player and then settled down into the nest of blankets with Barry. Not getting too comfortable since there should be an interruption soon, but still taking the time to enjoy Barry's clingy snuggling for a few minutes.

The dvd ran through a few ads - unskipable and an anti-piracy warning that made Len roll his eyes - and landed on the menu. Right as Len was about to hit play... there was a noise at the front door. Like a key in the lock.

No.

Len scowled over at the front door. Mick and Lisa knew Len was busy. Neither of them should be coming over, so why...

The door opened. Mick stepped through with a six pack of beer in one hand and a bag of what looked like Big Belly Burger in the other. He froze and stared at Len.

"Ain't you supposed to be out of the apartment for the next few hours?" Mick finally asked.

"No. Barry and I are having a movie night," Len growled.

"Hey Mick. We're about to start THEM!," Barry chirped.

"I told you what my plans were and you agreed to stay away." Len's eyes narrowed further as Mick shrugged and stepped further into the apartment, kicking the door shut behind him.

"Stopped paying attention when ya said 'date night'. Figured I'd tune into some sports using your cable. Just nodded and made agreeing noises every so often. Always makes ya think I'm listening." Mick kicked his own boots off and then walked into the living room and plopped down in the big chair. "That's the one with the giant ants, right?" He asked Barry.

"Yeah, that's the one," Barry agreed, looking amused.

"Mick," Len snapped.

"Yeah, boss?" Mick asked innocently. Or as innocently as he could manage, which wasn't very.

"Go away."

"Can't I at least eat first? Food'll go cold if I drive all the way back to my apartment."

If looks could kill, Len wouldn't need his Cold Gun in that moment.

Barry snickered. "Let him stay, Len, it's fine."

Huffing a sigh and sending one last murderous look Mick's way, promising violent retribution later with every fiber of his being, Len pressed start. Only to immediately pause again at the sound of... another... key.

"For fuck's sake," Len hissed as the door opened and Lisa pranced in. Then, louder, "I thought you were fucking around with Ramon tonight. What is this, crash Len's date night?"

Barry snickered.

"Oh, Lenny, don't be so dramatic. I never said I had anything lined up with Cisco. He and Hartley have a romantic evening lined up for tonight. And you know how romance gives me hives, so I'm steering clear. I'm joining them in the morning for breakfast, though. But you said that you were having a movie night with Barry and, honestly, we don't get enough time together to bond, Barry." Lisa had come around to drop onto the smaller of the two recliners. "Oh, is this THEM!? I love this movie."

"Me too," Barry said, voice full of all the laughter he was struggling not to give into. "You are right, though, Lisa. We don't hang out enough. We should do something together some afternoon."

"Get ice cream, walk the park, swap blackmail stories about Len," Lisa agreed, ignoring the way her brother was bristling at her.

"Sounds fun," Barry agreed, hanging on to Len so that he didn't go find his Cold Gun instead of just fantasizing about it.

"You can both stay for one movie." Len glared between the two invaders. "And then you both leave so Barry and I can enjoy the rest of our date night in peace."

"He wants to Netflix and chill," Lisa declared, winking outrageously at Mick.

"Don't that mean putting a movie on and screwing on the couch?" Mick asked.

"Yup." Lisa nodded.

Len could practically feel the heat of Barry's blush radiating off of him.

"Ya'd think the euphemism for having sex'd be hot instead of running cold." Mick smirked when Len shot him a dirty look for that one.

Barry snickered, the traitor.

This time the noise at the front door was knocking. "Pizza's here," Len said, moving to get up.

"You stay comfy," Lisa said, getting up. "I'll get the pizza. And pay the tip, since I'll be stealing a few slices. You just stay there wrapped up with your cute teddy bear."

Len's right eye twitched. But he let Lisa go fetch the food anyway.

Once the pizza was set out and everyone was, finally, eating, Len started the movie. And as the first of many giant ants filled the screen, Len began plotting his revenge.
