Shadow reads Amy's message thousands of times and he still felt blank at what she sent him. Why couldn't he respond to a simple text? It's the fact that she texts him I love you to him. What does that mean? Shadow may know many things but he didn't know what she meant by this. Did she mean… As friendship? They don't really hang out together besides texting each other. He never really spoke to her, she was the one who went up to him and ask him for his phone number to talk in the text messages. Shadow personally prefers phone calls to typing but it eventually grew on him and found himself texting every day to see how she's doing or whenever he was waiting for something to happen to pass the time. So he thought that maybe she loves him as a friend.

He's also thinking the way she types it. Love. It made him think she means it romantically. Love him? Why? He didn't understand that, it seems it makes more sense if she means their friendship. Who would love someone like him? Especially knowing that he wanted to destroy the earth at one point…

He didn't know how to question her neither. Should he just ask? What if it's not a big deal like it seems? Shadow didn't know how to respond to that, the only one who has ever said that to him was Maria years ago. The black hedgehog couldn't just keep thinking about this, he has to say something about this.

That's what he sent. Amy immediately texted back being clearer about her message.

I mean like… I love you for real you know? like… I actually romantically love you…

That's what she means? Shadow felt warm in his chest when he reads it. He still didn't understand how could she possibly love an ultimate life form? She's… She's strange. Perhaps she's being too nice to him.

Or is he losing his mind? What if he hallucinates all of this conversation? He knows he has mental problems but to come to this? But… For some reason, he wanted to think that it's real. It's too good to be real but he couldn't just imagine this out of nowhere. Amy… She wouldn't do this to prank him right? She has to mean it. She's not the kind of person who will do stunts like this. Sonic will be most likely be doing this to him to mess with him. Then there's another text from her. He blinks his eyes at this.

I know it seems out of nowhere but I swear im serious. Sure we don't hang out a lot but… I love talking to you a lot more than I thought

Shadow had his eyes lidded down as he looks at the text messages and rests his hand on his cheek. He will be lying if he said he didn't love the girl. So why was it hard for him to believe her? He wanted to be happy just like everyone else and Maria would have wanted something like this for him too. Shadow smile as he texted back to her, he deserved to be happy after everything he went through.
