Companions- Truffles the mole rat, and Jackson also former raider now cook.

Time setting- begins shortly before the sole survivors story and intertwines with it.

It is the year 2287, and the hellscape that we call the Commonwealth is still surviving. The cause of what happened to the Commonwealth and well the entirety of the United States was from the Great Resource War of 2077. When the United States finally dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War 2, scientists wanted to know what else they could achieve from nuclear power. After much experimenting led to the development of nuclear powered cars, robots, and just about anything you could imagine but this also gave rise to a severe increase for the demand of resources and once they were used up… well I'm pretty sure you can guess what came next. It's unclear to those of the current period on who shot first but what is known is that on October 23, 2077 nukes were fired and what was left behind was a nuclear wasteland.
