Alan's point of view
Well..
….
Didn't expect that today.
…..
After all the crap he has put me through.
'And also saving your life'
Yeah I guess.
To be honest I wouldn't be here in the first place if he didn't catch me in the tavern.
'Well it was a stupid place to scam people'
Where would you have me do it ?
'Outside'
Just outside ?
'Where you can run away without being noticed'
….
'Not stuck in a small crowded room'
Look..
Doesn't matter.
'We know that Marian is his world.
You should be chuffed that he has trusted us with this task.'
….
For once my inner thought was right.
'For once ?'
Alright alright.
Still I'm happy with the level of trust he has shown in me.
Maybe one day I can repay him for it.
'I think watching over Marian would be fine'
….
I closed my eyes and leaned my back against the stone wall.
Taking in the moments silence and let my thoughts drift to Lucy.
How beautiful she is.
Her laugh,
Her smile,
Her heaving bosom.
I wish I had the chance to snuggle in between them and sample their..
'Open your eyes'
…
'Open your eyes,
Your drooling'
I did as I was told and quickly wiped away the drool that was slipping down my chin.
'There's a time and a place for this'
Yeah and it's now.
I closed my eyes again.
'Snap out of it'
Why
…
I sighed as I already knew why but then I thought 'what if I don't survive ?'
Now I know how Guy must have been feeling when he asked me to watch over Marian.
Who would watch over Lucy if I were to die here today ?
….
'Why don't you find sir jasper and talk up Guy ?
Make him see that Guy is worth being saved and put to use in another town.
It couldn't hurt as we know Guy never talks about himself in such a way.'
Now I just have to find him.
So I set off on my new mission and soon enough I saw the back of him.
"Can I just have a word ?"
I asked as I came up behind him.
"I assume your talking to me ?"
He said while turning the corner and continued his walk.
Who knows where to exactly.
'Be calm'
"Sorry sir Jasper, yeah if you've got a moment ?"
He gave a long exhale at my question.
Well I'm taking that as an opportunity.
If this wasn't calm enough then I'd be a monkeys uncle.
'Remember to talk up Guy'
"Well between you and me Guy's not good at speaking himself up.
And I just want you to know that we are doing everything we can ere,
Even if he's not showing it."
We turned another corner as he simply said.
"Good"
Good ?
Just good ?
'Just keep going'
Another corner approached and he still kept walking so I still continued to follow.
"Their's not a lot of men doing what Guy's doing right now.
You should keep him in mind for other things really.
Could be very useful in another county."
Now he stops and turns to face me.
"What"
All I do is look at him.
"Him and you ?"
He then carried on walking.
Myself also ?
"Well yeah,
I suppose so"
I said before I also carried on walking after him.
As we again turned another corner he stopped and slowly turned to face me.
"It's interesting isn't it that when people realise that their gonna die all this new found loyalty just creeps out of the woodwork."
New found ?
I have been loyal to Guy for months now.
'He doesn't know that'
Behind him now was another walkway and I could hear the sound of spurred footsteps echo slightly down the hall.
A couple of seconds later Guy turned round the corner and calmly walked down towards us.
'Be honest'
"Well I wanna live yeah"
"Alan"
Guy said sternly.
Sir Jasper raised his voice and just continued staring at me.
"Well you better find the sheriff hadn't you ?"
There is just no getting through to this sod.
I broke eye contact with him and looked at Guy.
Sir Jasper had now turned his back to me.
"Thought I gave you a job to do ?"
"You did I'm on it"
I replied and walked down the way Guy had just come from.
'We tried'
Yeah..
