A one shot.
Yugi Muto set his deck down onto the table, spreading out the playmat. The puzzle around his neck swayed in the light wind, and the nearby flag was waving in the wind. It would have seemed scenic, but not today.
The future of the Earth was to be decided by one duel.
The strange man facing Yugi smiled and shuffled a deck of cards, then set them on the table. The energy from the puzzle flew out onto Yugi, bathing him in a golden glow. When the glow faded, Yami Yugi appeared.
"Let's duel!" The pharaoh-teen announced.
"Not so fast!" The man said quickly. "Let's play a...modified version. I have a deck of 40 assorted cards, and we can take turns drawing a random card. After we both get five cards, then we can duel. Keep your cards hidden as you draw them. We each have 500 life points."
"Ok, fine." Yami stated. "What are the stakes?"
"If I win, I will send you to the shadow realm and destroy the earth myself."
"And if I win, you play a penalty game!"
Yami smiled darkly. The penalty game he had was beyond anything fathomable. Now, the time for talking is over. It's time to select the cards.
"I will draw first!" Yami yelled. He opened up the deck of cards and spread them out. He took a random card, then gestured for his opponent to do the same.
After the drawing was complete, the players had these cards:
Yami Yugi
-Alligator's Sword
-Fairy Box
-Lightning Vortex
-Mystic Horseman
-Spikeshield With Chain
Mysterious Man
-Barrel Dragon
-Block Defense
-Insect Barrier
-Limiter Removal
-Mystic Swordsman LV4
"It looks like we are finished." Yami stated. "Let's duel, for real this time!"
"Agreed!" The man yelled. "I summon, Mystic Swordsman LV4! Then, I end my turn."
"Looks like you have chosen to lose a turn early." Yami mocked. "Now, I summon Alligator's Sword! In defense mode!" He slammed a card onto the table. "Then, I lay two cards face down. My turn is complete."
The man smiled. "You fool. I attack your Alligator's Sword!"
"Not so fast!" Yami snapped. "I activate my trap card, Spikeshield with Chain! I chose to give my Alligator's Sword 500 attack points!"
Alligator's Sword now had 2000 atk, which was 100 higher than the Mystic Swordsman.
"I cancel my attack." The man said. Even though it isn't legal, Yami thought, I'll let it slide...this time.
"It's now my turn!" Yami announced, "I will attack your Swordsman with my Alligator's Sword!"
"I now have 400 life points." The man said meekly. "I set a card face down. My turn is over."
"I will attack you again." Yami stated. He then pointed at the man "You have lost."
His opponent slammed his fist onto the table and threw his chair.
"Now!" Yami yelled. The symbol on his forehead started to glow, and same with his puzzle. "Penalty game! Draw Of Fate!"
The man's eyes glazed over, then he fell over. His heart wasn't beating anymore.
