It was finally over. Everything that was planned had worked out to the "T", except for Della.
She had been bait for a man who they had determined to be the murderer in the case they were working on but were still a little unsure.
It had been fine in the beginning, but then the man began to drink and noticed some inconsistences.
That's when things took a turn for the worse. Della hadn't taken a single sip of her drink as the man continued to fill his glass which much to Della's dismay and from what she'd seen, marked the beginning of loose tongues and fluid fists.
"Mr. Carson, please calm down."
Della said calmly, even though her voice threatened to shake. He was catching on to their trap and he was getting quite angry and Perry could tell that it was starting to frighten her.
"Don't tell me to calm down, Miss Street. I know who you are and why you're here and I've had enough!"
Henry shouted as he punched Della on the cheek as she cried out in pain as Paul held Perry back as Henry said with a sneer,
"Yes, I killed her and I'm more than willing to do the same to you."
Henry had killed his wife because he knew that she was cheating on him.
Perry had lost it as he barged in, tackling Henry to the ground as Paul helped Della up as he tried to comfort her.
"Just get me outside, Paul."
Della said with a shaking voice as the police came once Paul made the call before taking her outside.
"Hey, it's OK."
Perry said once he came outside as Della folded in his arms and began to cry as he kissed her forehead,
"I didn't expect it to go south that quickly."
Della said as her voice quivered as tears fell as Perry held her close,
"You did well. So incredibly well."
Della nodded as she couldn't speak as tears took over as she began to sob as Perry held her close as her body shook.
