Chapter 1:
"We have to get out of here! Don't leave me! Fa-"
Those sounds that keep ringing in my head. The sounds of someone crying out. For who? For what? I try to remember but I can't think straight, my head just feels so hazy and muddy. I moan and groan as I rub the drowsiness from my eyes just to open them to a dimly lit lamp hanging above me but at that moment that light felt like I may as she'll have been staring at the sun. Lifting myself up I noticed something. This wasn't my bed nor my clothes, hell nothing here looked familiar.
"Ugh where the hell am I?" I thought to myself but just as I did a painful shock ran through my head.
"ARGH!" I held my head to brace for the shocking pain that felt almost paralyzing. Sucking my teeth, waiting for it to subside. Once it had I had realized something. It had felt as though there were bandages wrapped around my forehead, more specifically around the area where the pain originated, not only that but looking closer at my arms showed me I had bandages wrapped around them, running all the way up to my shoulders. I assume there's more on me but I'm covered in a dingy white shirt that feels like it's a couple sizes too big for me.
"Just what happened to me?" I ask myself, standing up from the bed, the silence that was filling the room interrupted by the creaks of the wooden floor below me. It doesn't take more than a quick look around the room to know something's off. The whole place looks decrepit, as if it's been abandoned, complete with cracks running along the concrete walls. It looks like the only thing in this room is the bed I woke up on, the single lamp, and two doors, one directly across from me and one missing it's door knob located to my left. I decided to get up and try peeping into the room without a door knob, it was difficult to make out given how dark it was but at least it didn't look like anyone was inside, going inside and finding a lucky light switch showed me that it's just a bathroom, just as run down as the other room with rust covering the tiny shower on the right and shards of glass littering the floor around the sink to the left of the room. Stepping inside and being cautious not to step on any glass I see there used to belong to a mirror hanging directly above the sink. Honestly seeing anything on it was a tough task but I did my best to get a good look at myself. Looking into the shattered mirror I saw a young woman, with long flowing silver hair, bright golden eyes, and soft pale skin. Looking back at the person in the mirror, only one question was ringing all throughout my mind. Who is this?
I could feel my body tense up with fear as the reality of the situation started to set in. My legs wouldn't move, my breaths were becoming shallow and hard to manage, it didn't take long for my head to start pounding again with that incessant pain. All while this was going on I heard a loud *Ca-THUNK* come from the other room. Someone's entered the room I woke up in. I unconsciously take a step back completely forgetting about the shards littering the floor and feel something pierce right through the base of my foot and I end up falling back from the pain. I can hear the footsteps rushing towards here, my mind's running wild with a million thoughts per second, is this the person who did this to me? What are they going to do to me once they find me? What do they want from me? The adrenaline was rushing through my body that I couldn't even think straight, the pain burning through my body meant nothing to me as the fear coursing through my body easily overshadowed it. I scrambled on the floor looking for something, anything, until finding a particularly long shard of glass. I held onto it with all my might, drawing blood as it ripped apart my palms and fingers, and held it pointing at the entrance to the bathroom. I could hear the steps getting closer and closer, I don't know if it was the adrenaline or my mind playing tricks on me but I felt as if I'd been holding my stance on the floor for what felt like hours. If this was the person who did this to me I would refuse to be weak, I won't let them make a victim of me easily, I won't die here!
"FAYE!"
A figure reaches the door and looks to be the source of the voice calling out, the voice belongs to a young girl who looks like she can't be an inch over 5'2", she has short curly purple hair with green tips, bright violet eyes and is wearing a black hoodie with a green skirt and heavy looking purple and green boots. Her eyes widened at the sight of me. Her shadow looming over me, I'm sure I look like an animal backed into a corner right now, caught in a trap and on its last legs.
"STAY BACK!" I scream, pointing my shard directly at her.
"Faye, listen to me! Put. The. Shard. Down. I'm not going to hurt you." Her voice was ragged with what sounded like worry but it meant nothing to me. At that moment I only assumed the worst. I couldn't trust anything that she had to say. She takes a step forward to me.
"I said stay back!" I scream again pushing my weapon "Where am I?!" I demand desperately to know anything about this situation.
"Look I know this place is new to you but you're not in any danger Faye trust me!" She yelled back pleading with me.
"Why should I ever trust you, I don't even know you!" I yelled back. My grip on my weapon began to shake, blood running down through my arms turning my bandages into a crimson red, I could feel my eyes getting heavy. I had been pushing my body to far
"Wh-what do you mean Faye!? It's Me! Mallory!" Her voice sounded so pained as she cried out to me
"I-I don't know anyone with that name."
"What do you mean Faye!?"
"WHO"S FAYE!" I finally scream out. Silence fills the room, nothing but my ragged breaths can be heard.
"You mean...you forgot?" She says stunned at the revelation. At that moment everything made sense. I had forgotten. Everything. I couldn't take it anymore. My body was at my limit and it wasn't listening to me anymore. The shard dropped from my hands and I felt my body go limp. Just as I was about to fall face first on the floor I felt a presence hold me from behind followed by Mallory grabbing me, embracing me. Barely conscious I saw Mallory holding me, letting my head rest on her shoulders. With the last bit of strength I had in me I did my best to say
"Thanks. Mallory." though it came out sounding more like a whisper than anything I'm sure she heard me. With those last words I had drifted off into sleep.
