I Own Nothing. If I did this would have been the start of the series.
AN: I really wanted Victor to go up with Benji for real and not that horrible nightmare he had of it so I redid it.
Summary: While Victor's trying to get up the courage to ask Benji to go on the Ferris Wheel, he gets asked instead.
Title: I'd Like That
Victor was terrified at the moment, but he had the tickets in his hand. He had said it all day at school that he was gay. He'd let his self be who he wanted to be for a long time. He swallowed seeing Benji standing there with his friends. He wanted to ask him to ride the Ferris Wheel with him. He just didn't know if he could do it. When he got closer he thought about it. Benji had been cool today. More than once he'd talked to him and he'd never wanted to let go of his hand at lunch when he'd helped him up. He'd ran away then though because he didn't know how to hide he wanted to do what the guy had yelled out. He also wanted to do something else.
His parents were here and they didn't know, but he hoped they might not be able to see them if he asked Benji to go up. He was almost there and Benji turned slightly looking at him. He gave him a smile and Victor couldn't help his self. He gave one back before he kept walking for a moment. He looked from where Benji was standing to the Ferris Wheel then to where Mia was. He didn't like her that way, but maybe it would be less of a freak out if he went up with her. Then again the school knew he was gay already could he let the world know that? He was frozen in place thinking about what he wanted looking back to where Benji had been, but he wasn't there now.
He'd lost his chance since he didn't see Benji at all now and he couldn't bring his self to do something he didn't want to. Asking Mia wasn't what he wanted, he'd thought about this moment in his head where he'd ask Benji and it would be perfect. That of course wasn't going to happen now since he'd vanished. Victor sighed turning around letting out a startled sound because Benji was standing in front of him now. He looked kind of nervous too yet he was smiling like he had at school that morning.
"You can say no, but would you want to go on the Ferris Wheel?" Benji asked biting his bottom lip looking at Victor.
Victor couldn't help the slight laugh he let out. "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you. I was going to ask you, but I chickened out when I saw you." He said when he realized that Benji might have thought he was making fun of him. "I'd like that, to go with you." He added.
"Cool. I'm sorry about lunch, them being jerks." Benji said as they started walking towards the Ferris Wheel. "You didn't deserve that."
"It got taken down and I kinda just want to forget about school right now. Though it wasn't all bad there was one person that made it barrable." Victor said watching Benji hand over two tickets. He didn't say a word and he figured if he liked it he could get the next ride.
"Felix isn't so bad once you get used to him." Benji said.
"Oh, no, I mean he's okay, but I was talking about someone else." Victor said as they started moving. He wasn't sure if he should tell since they were trapped on the ride at the moment. Though when Benji looked at him he couldn't help his self. "You, because the rest of the day just sucked." He smiled.
"Was it really that bad?" Benji asked watching Victor debating on something.
"Yeah, but it's better now. It's kind of perfect right now." Victor answered wishing that he could possibly lean in and Benji would stop him if he kissed him. He really wanted to do it, had wanted that since the first time he'd seen him walk in the hallway. Everything else kind of vanished when he looked at Benji.
The Ferris Wheel stopped at the top and they didn't break eye contact. They were slightly moving in closer inch by inch. There wasn't room for anything between them after a moment and Victor took the chance he hoped that he wasn't seeing the look wrong as he pulled Benji in the last sliver that kept them apart. He kissed him and he felt like he was waking up for the first time. He felt Benji kissing him back and his warm hand cupping his face back. He moaned as the kiss went on. Until air was required they didn't pull apart, which was when the ride started moving too.
"Wow." Victor said a smile forming on his face.
"Yeah." Benji smiled back looking at Victor.
He pulled Victor back to him kissing him again because he couldn't do just one kiss. It was the best kiss he'd had ever and he didn't want it to end. He hadn't planned on kissing Victor, he'd just wanted to see if he'd take a ride. He wanted to get to know him better, maybe be friends, but he didn't think he could do just friends.
Victor moaned feeling Benji's tongue running along his lips and he opened his mouth letting him in. He hadn't kissed anyone before and he was kind of hoped that he wasn't horrible at it. Though when he heard a moan that was clearly coming from Benji it couldn't be horrible. He didn't want the ride to end. He wanted to stay right where they were. He also wanted to get out of there with Benji so they weren't confined in the seat. The ride stopped and he pulled away needing air.
"Do you want to get out of here or take another ride?" Victor asked.
"Maybe we could come back after we explore some?" Benji offered. "Might be nice to enjoy the carnival. I kind of hadn't come here before."
"Sounds like a plan." Victor replied before they got off which when they did they were face to face with a lot of people from the school. He felt his face heat up realizing that they were looking at the two of them. He didn't miss Felix cheer in the mix.
"Come on or they're going to corner us. Trust me on that." Benji said taking Victor's hand in his and guiding the way out of the crowd.
"What do you want to do first?" Victor asked once they were clear of the ones that had gathered around.
"Second, I already did what I wanted to do first." Benji answered. He took a moment kissing Victor for the third time before they started walking around. He didn't really have a destination in mind but stopped when they got to the game area.
Victor looked at what was there before going towards the ball throwing game. He was good at basketball and decided he'd see what he could do. He handed a ticket over before he was handed three balls. He let the first one miss on purpose before he got the second one almost there. Didn't want them to call him on some how cheating, but the third one he easily got in which could have been done on the first try.
"Okay, pick something out." Victor said looking at Benji. "Anything you want that's there."
"The rainbow turtle." Benji said looking at the animals that were there. He hadn't been to this carnival before, but the one he had gone to months ago in the summer hadn't gone that well. He had almost blown tonight off, but he'd hoped that Victor might show up.
Victor pointed at the turtle to the guy before handing it to Benji when got it. "It's cute, but I think you're better." He hoped that didn't sound lame. He kissed Benji because he didn't want to stop doing that. "Come on, we can see if I can win something and you pick what I get."
Benji laughed holding onto Victor's hand in one of his while he held the turtle close to him in the other hand. "Thanks." He said because it felt like he might be in some kind of dream at the moment.
Victor hadn't even thought about it when he'd said he wanted the turtle. Hadn't told him it was stupid either. He hadn't even made him cough up the ticket. He'd noticed how he'd missed on purpose the first two times only to make it easily on the last try. He'd almost laughed at the guy running the booth since he didn't realize he'd been played. He knew if their basketball coach wanted Victor on the team he had to be great. Their school kind of sucked at basketball. He made the next choice on what they did letting Victor hold the turtle while he attempted to hit the ducks with the rubber mallet. It wasn't hard and he easily got all of them to stay down. He let Victor pick what he wanted this time.
The woman at the booth looked at Victor waiting for his answer. He looked around before noticing that she had an owl that happened to be colored like the rainbow. He loved owls and there was one that he'd heard once that sounded so creepy that it had been freaky, but he'd loved it.
"The rainbow owl please." Victor said pointing to it. "Thanks." He said when she handed it over. He had given Benji the turtle back after he'd won so he took the giant owl hugging it to his self. It was as big as the frog he'd seen his brother with. The same size as the turtle he'd gotten Benji too. "Okay, do you want to go on a ride or get something to eat?" He asked.
"Ride then food, mixing those up is not a good idea if you get dizzy." Benji said as they started walking away.
"Sounds good." Victor said letting his hand slide back into Benji's as they walked towards the food area. Yeah he was really enjoying holding his hand. He was nervous too, but it couldn't be all bad if he had the hottest guy in school with him.

The rest of the night went perfect and some how Victor avoided his family. He thought it was like the universe paying him back for all that was going wrong in his life. He sat with Benji and they'd ate after taking a couple of rides. Felix had shown up and he'd tried the drink he'd been wanting him to earlier that night. They talked to some of Benji's friends that found them too. He found out that Benji had an ex which his friends hated. When Benji had gone to the bathroom the one girl there had thanked him for getting Benji to actually smile instead of fake smile for the first time in the three weeks since he'd broken up with the jerk boyfriend he'd had.
He hadn't asked Benji about it not wanting to ruin the fun they were having. He was glad he had made him smile though and he'd been ticked that the ex hadn't wanted to do stuff like this with Benji. He might have let Benji pick what they wanted to do most of the time after they'd ate. Which were mostly games and smaller rides that didn't matter that they had eaten.
He'd won some other things which Benji had picked, but said he didn't need them. He'd wanted to do it though because he really liked Benji and thought he deserved to be treated like a person. He made sure it didn't seem like he was doing it just from what his friend said though. It wasn't about that because he would have done it anyway. It was how he'd want to be treated.
"I'm going to have to wear this at school only." Victor said as they left the last booth where Benji had insisted on getting him the shirt he was holding. He thought it was perfect though and couldn't stop smiling at it. "My sister's the only one that knows I'm gay." He added seeing the question in Benji's eyes. "My parents wouldn't understand me being me. I'm trying to tell them though. I almost did this afternoon when I got home, then my sister got into a fight at school and they were fighting. I just couldn't do it after my mom told me that she never had to worry about me." He sighed. "Sorry, I just ruined the fun."
"It's not easy to come out. I was there last year. It wasn't pretty either." Benji said. "You didn't ruin the fun either. You're fun to be around and kind of easy to talk to. If I'm being honest it's the most fun I've had in a while." Benji replied. "Which reminds me. If you want to hang out with me and be on the basketball team you could always fill out an application at Brasstown. We're hiring and you won't have a problem getting the job. I know the assistant manager." He smiled.
"Seriously?" Victor asked.
"I don't want to over step or be a jerk like Andrew, I just thought you needed the job and we need the help." Benji said in a rush.
"No, you're not over stepping or being a jerk. You didn't set up some page to donate money. So who's the person I gotta talk to?" Victor asked.
"You already did. I'm the assistant manager. I got promoted after summer ended so I figured since I had say in who got hired you could maybe fill out an application." Benji offered.
"Sure, I was there this morning with Felix. He swears by their coffee and the muffins are perfect too." Victor said. "Thanks, so you want to ride the Ferris Wheel one more time before we go?" He asked. "I got two tickets left that I saved if you want to that is." He said.
"Yeah, lets go." Benji nodded before they got in the line again. The night had been better than he thought it would be and he didn't want it to end.

Victor looked out seeing the entire town from the top of the Ferris Wheel before he turned taking in the sight that he enjoyed even more. The night couldn't have gone better and it was ending way better than he'd thought if he hadn't said yes to Benji. He would have regretted it if he'd gone with safe even if he was already out to most people. He had leaned in kissing Benji as they starting going back down. He hadn't missed the two tickets that Benji had handed over either so they'd get two more rides. He was going to remember tonight forever. He hoped that Benji would too.
As they went back around they kissed taking small breaks for air. It was the best night and a fresh start. The move would be better than Victor thought it would be. He just hoped that what he was feeling would last for a long time. He didn't think anything could really touch it as if he was flying in the air without the ground in sight. He pulled apart as the ride stopped at the ground. He watched Benji for a moment before the gate opened and they had to get off the ride.
They got their prizes from Felix who had held them while they'd gone up. "Thanks for holding those." Victor said taking what he knew was Benji's handing them over before getting his own.
"No problem. I can't believe you didn't tell me what you planned on doing." Felix said.
"I couldn't say no when he asked." Victor said before he took Benji's hand. "We're going to go, you don't mind do you? I know I showed up with you." He said hoping that Felix wouldn't mind.
"NO, go, I will be fine. If I see your parents later I'll say you're still here or something." Felix offered.
"Thanks." Victor replied before he started walking with Benji towards the exit. The night had been perfect. He had a fresh start and things were going to be great some how. He could see it in the future that things would go better even if it took time. He had the time after all he would be hanging out with Benji a lot since he pretty much had the job as he'd said.
