Nichole wasn't sure she would ever understand the pull that Sookie Stackhouse had over her friend Alcide Herveux. She had known him for the better part of 10 years and since he met Sookie a couple of years ago he was infatuated with her. Now don't get it wrong, Nichole thought that Sookie was a nice enough girl but it was clear as the day is long that her and Alcide were never going to happen. Sometimes Nichole got a little upset because it seemed like Sookie was ok with leading Alcide on if it was going to benefit her in some way. But maybe she didn't realize what she was doing? Alcide was a big boy and could take care of himself of course, it still definitely made Nichole wonder though.
It was Friday afternoon and Nichole was just getting ready to head out to meet up with some friends for a drink. Happy hour started at 3 at the local bar and she was ready to kick back and relax sooner rather than later. Alcide was one of the friends that she was to be meeting up with and she had a text from him that simply said "Be late, Sookie needs me." Always something with Sookie, she thought to herself. She drove from the insurance office she worked at across town to the bar and saw her friends already seated at the outdoor patio. A round of beers sat dripping sweat on the table. Nichole sat down next to her friend Mila and let out a huff.
"Well, I'll take mine AND Alcide's. He'll be late. Sookie needed him. Again." Nichole said as she took a long draw on the ice cold beer in front of her.
Mila grinned and poked her elbow into Nicholes side. "When WILL you admit that you have a thing for Alcide babe? It's so glaringly obvious…"
"I do not have THING for Alcide ok? I just hate seeing Sookie take advantage of his friendship all the time. And bless his heart he's too blinded by his infatuation with her to see that a relationship between them ain't ever gonna happen," Nichole said with attitude. Her other friend Martin chuckled across the table at her. Martin and Mila were the closest thing to family that Nichole had these days. Besides Alcide of course. Martin was like a big brother to Nichole.
"You know, Mila's right. As much as that pains me to say," he said with a grin. Mila stuck her tongue out at him and Nichole raised her eyebrows at him defensively.
"What I mean is, you and Alcide have chemistry. I know you don't want to admit it for whatever reason but you two would be great together. Honestly, if we could get him to see that Sookie isn't ever going to be interested in him then maybe he would see it to." Martin chugged his beer and leaned back in his chair.
Nichole hated how right he was. She DID have a thing for Alcide. He had been there for her when her parents died, when her boyfriend cheated on her and left her, and for every other minuscule thing in between. So why was she lying to herself and trying to deny how she felt about him? Oh yeah. Because of Sookie. As if on cue her phone started ringing and she grabbed it to see none other than Sookie Stackhouse on her caller ID. She sighed deeply and answered it.
"Hey Sookie, what's up?" Nichole asked, trying not to let her irritation show through her voice.
"Nichole hey I need you to get to my house right away. It's Alcide. He's, well he's, oh I just need you to get here." Sookie was panicked and that freaked Nichole out. She and Sookie weren't enemies by any stretch of the imagination but they weren't best friends either so if she was asking for help this was big.
"I'm on the way." Nichole said and hung up. "Guys I gotta go, Alcide is at Sookies and he's in some kind of trouble. I'll call you when I get there."
"Yeah yeah go, call us later with what's up!" Matt shouted as Nichole grabbed her purse and keys. She ran to her car and took off. The drive to Sookie's usually took about 10 minutes from town but she made it there in 5. Her heart was pounding loudly in her ears and she kept reminding herself to breathe. She threw her car in park and ran up Sookie's front steps.
Sookie ran out on the porch to meet her. "Nichole I'm so sorry. I know you don't like me much and I know it's because you think I lead Alcide on. And I probably do and I'm so sorry for that but please, you have to listen to me."
"Where is he, what's happened?" Nichole tried to push past Sookie and into the house but Sookie grabbed her by the shoulders.
"No Nichole you can't go in yet I have to explain. Physically Alcide is fine. He came here to help me track someone. A witch. When we confronted her she put some weird spell on us but it didn't affect me, only Alcide. He shifted back from a wolf thank goodness but he has NO idea who he is. He's totally lost his memory Nichole…" Sookie trailed off and Nichole stood dumbfounded on the porch. She couldn't even believe what Sookie was telling her.
"So he knows nothing, no one? Doesn't remember anything?" Nichole's head was spinning. Sookies eyes were filled with tears. She shook her head and Nichole let out a big sigh. She couldn't stand the thought of Alcide forgetting her. Or anyone else in his life.
"Ok so if he doesn't remember you, how'd you get him to come home with you then?" Nichole asked, puzzled.
"Well I convinced him I could help him so he said he'd come with me. He was definitely weary of it. I had his clothes in my car from when he shifted so I think that put him at ease a bit. I'm so sorry Nichole. I do care a lot about Alcide. I know you do too. So I'm going to figure this out and get his memory back I swear it." Sookie was genuinely crying and Nichole believed her. Maybe she wasn't so bad after all. Maybe, and this was a big maybe, they could all be good friends finally.
Nichole hugged Sookie tight. "You didn't do anything wrong. Alcide never knows when to stop or say no. He knew what he was getting into going with you I'm sure. I believe you when you say you'll will figure this out. Until then we just have to help him try to remember as much as we can." Sookie nodded at her and then opened the screen door.
Nichole walked through and into the house. Turning to the right she saw Alcide sitting on the couch looking positively lost. He looked up and his eyes met with hers. Her heart immediately swelled up. Alcide's eyes lit up and he stood from the couch.
"Hi, Alcide, I'm Nichole. I know you don't remember me but I'm your friend. I promise, I'm here to help you." Nichole said timidly as she held a hand out to him to shake. He broke out in a huge grin and Nichole was so confused.
"Nichole, baby, where have you been I've missed you!" Alcide exclaimed and he swept her up in his strong arms and twirled her around twice before setting her down and kissing her right on the mouth as he held her face in his hands. Nichole's eyes had to have been about to pop out of her head because what the hell was happening??
She turned to look over her shoulder at Sookie and she looked just as puzzled as Nichole did.
"Uh, Alcide, I thought you didn't remember anything?"" Sookie asked curiously.
"Oh I don't. Except my name. And her." He said as he pulled Nichole into him and wrapped his arms around her planting a kiss on top of her head. "This one here, this is Nichole and she's the love of my life." Nichole did not hate the sound of that one bit. She turned her head to look up at Alcide and he smiled down at her and kissed the tip of her nose. Chills ran down her body from her nose to her toes. This can't be real she thought to herself.
"Alcide, sweetie, you and Nichole aren't…" Sookie started to say but Nichole cut off very quickly.
"No, we aren't going to leave just yet Sookie, we'll stay for a bit longer." Nichole said quickly as she smiled up at Alcide. He smiled warmly back at her.
His eyes were locked on hers and for a brief moment she forgot that none of this was real. His arms around her, holding her to him. She nuzzled her head into his chest and inhaled deeply. He smelled like cologne. And the woods. Earthy but manly. And he was so warm.
"Now that you're here with me baby I'll be ok. You're the only thing I need to remember." Alcide said earnestly. Nicholes eyes welled with tears. She looked at Sookie who looked completely dumbfounded.
"Alcide would you give Sookie and me just a minute to chat. You know, girl stuff." Nichole said sweetly. Alcide grinned.
"Sure thing," he said and placed another kiss on top of her head. Nicholes heart sighed heavy. This was exactly what she wanted. But not like this. It wasn't real. Alcide had no memories of who he truly was. So how did he remember her and why did he think they were together? Her mind was racing. She followed Sookie into the kitchen.
"Sookie what the actual hell is going on? Why does Alcide think we're together? But he doesn't remember anything else??" Nichole asked, completely exasperated.
"I don't know, it's so weird. He literally had no idea who I was, it took me a bit of time to convince him to come back with me. But you show up and it's like he knows exactly who he is and who you are. Except he obviously thinks you're together…" Sookie said. She was puzzled for sure. "Do you have feelings for him, Nichole?" She asked quietly.
Nicholes eyes darted to her quickly and then to the floor. "I didn't think I did. But now? I think I always have I've just pushed it away because all he wants is you…" she said quietly.
Sookie smiled softly. "Sweetie, I promise, I'm in love with Bill. Alcide and I will always only ever be friends. I'm sorry I haven't done a good enough job showing you that. And clearly I needed to show him that too. But I have a theory. I think Alcide loves you. I think he has for a long time. And I think perhaps whatever that witch did to erase his memories actually brought these hidden feelings to the surface. Does that sound crazy?" Sookie asked.
Nichole tilted her head slightly. It actually made a lot of sense really. That was honestly the most reasonable explanation. But how? Why? These were questions only the witch that did this could answer.
Right now all Nichole could think about was the look in Alcide's eyes when he looked at her. And that kiss. Wow. It was exactly how a girl wants to be kissed. Nichole's heart was beating fast. What should she do now? She didn't want to upset Alcide with the truth. She didn't want to lie either. Until they could figure out how to undo what had been done she was just going to have to go with it.
Nichole and Sookie agreed that this was the best way to handle it for now. Sookie promised to call Nichole the moment she had any answers. They walked into the living room where Alcide had turned the TV on and was watching a replay of a football game. "Um, Alcide? Do you want to go now? I can take you home." Nichole said as Alcide stood up and walked over to her. Her heart fluttered as he reached out and took her hand.
"Yeah, lets go home sweetheart." Alcide said. He looked over at Sookie who smiled warmly at him. "Sookie, thanks for getting Nichole over here for me. I'm sorry I don't remember you but you must be a pretty good friend so I'm glad you were there for me." Alcide said.
Sookie nodded at him. "You're welcome. And I promise I will do whatever I can to help get your memories back Alcide. But you're in good hands with Nichole here." She said as she smiled at Nichole.
Nichole led Alcide out the front door with a promise from Sookie to call as soon as she had any information for them. They got in her car and Alcide quickly grabbed her hand again and brought it to his lips for a kiss. He brushed the back of it with his thumb in tiny circles and Nichole was filled with emotion. Oh this was torture. It felt so normal. So natural. So right. But it wasn't real. She had to keep repeating it to herself in her head over and over. She shook her head slightly and then looked at Alcide with a smile.
"Ok, lets get you home yeah?" She asked.
"You mean lets get US home right? Both of us. I don't want to be alone Nichole. You're the only person in the world right now that I can actually remember. I need you baby, please." Alcide pleaded with her. Her heart broke. He seemed scared. But he was right. He couldn't be alone.
"Yes, of course. Us. I'm not leaving you baby. We'll figure this out ok? But I won't leave you by yourself, I promise." She said and then boldly leaned over and kissed him. She felt fire in her lips as they connected with his. Fuck, she thought. This is going to be both pure heaven and pure hell.
The drive to Nichole's felt like it took forever but truly it was only like 20 minutes. She text Mila and Martin about what happened and they were both in agreement that the best thing to do would be just go with it, as hard it might be.
Nichole was nervous because she wanted Alcide bad right now but it almost felt wrong, like she was taking advantage of him. When they walked in the door Alcide immediately pinned her up against it capturing her lips with his and placing both hands under her ass to lift her up. She instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist and didn't think twice about what was happening. It felt so damn good.
Alcide moaned low in his throat as he felt Nicholes hot center (separated only by a couple thin layers of clothes) pressing up against him. He was already painfully hard and wanting to be inside her. His hands roamed her ass and up her back underneath her shirt. He made quick work of yanking it over her head only breaking their frenzied kissing for a moment. Her hands were tangled in his shaggy black hair. They moved down his neck to rest on either side of his face, holding him close to her. They both leaned away from one another to catch their breath, panting hard. "Bedroom." Nichole said, her voice sultry and dripping with want.
Alcide put his hands back under her and walked down the hallway to her bedroom and once inside he laid her back gently on the bed. He ripped his own clothes off his body in mere seconds and was standing in front of Nichole completely naked. Her jaw dropped. She'd never seen him without at least boxers on and right now she couldn't for the life of her figure out why. She should have made a move on him long ago. His eyes were dark and shiny. He growled quietly and stalked over to her. He made quick work of pulling Nichole's jeans off leaving her in a black set of bra and panties. "God, you're the most beautiful thing I've ever laid eyes on," Alcide said and Nichole could tell he meant it. She blushed and he started to remove her panties then knelt on the bed by her and pulled her up slightly with one arm so he could unhook her bra using his free hand. In moments she was completely naked, totally exposed, in front of her best friend who thought she was his girlfriend. She gulped but then smiled as Alcide looked at her like she was water while he was dying of thirst in a desert. She saw love in his eyes. For her.
"Alcide, touch me, please," Nichole moaned out as she reached her hand out to him to pull her close to her. He obliged happily as he laid down beside her and used one hand to cradle her head and pull her close so he could kiss her. The other trailed down her body, leaving goosebumps in its wake. Once he found his destination Nichole moaned loudly as he plunged a long finger inside her tight pussy which was already dripping wet. He used his thumb to put pressure on her clit and she thrust her hips up at the sensation. He added another digit curling them slightly inside of her as he pulled them out. It took no time at all before she was moaning his name and a string of profanity, her head thrown back against the pillows and her back arched toward the ceiling.
Nichole sat up and swiftly pushed Alcide over so he was flat on his back as she threw her leg over him and sat astride him. Passion glazing his eyes he put his hands on her hips while she laid hers flat against his very toned chest. He was definitely fun to look at Nichole thought to herself as she positioned herself so that she could slide down on top of Alcides impressive length.
Once he was fully inside her she couldn't tell where his body began and hers ended she felt like they were totally connected. Never before had she been so overcome with passion and want. She rode him hard as he pushed his hips upwards meeting her thrust for thrust. Nichole was positive he may actually split her in two but she didn't care, she was so close to the edge she just wanted to fall. Alcide must have sensed this because he sat up shifting their positions so that he was holding her and this new angle did the trick. Nichole screamed his name as she buried her face in his shoulder leaning small kisses on his skin as she came. He followed shortly repeating her name over and over. He whispered something in her ear as she came down from her own high but she couldn't make it out.
She pulled her head back and looked at him. "What was that?" She asked.
"I said marry me Nichole. I want you to be mine forever." Alcide said as his deep brown eyes locked on hers.
Her hand flew to her mouth to cover it as it fell open in shock. He couldn't be serious. She couldn't say yes. They weren't even together. But before she could stop the words, out they came.
"Yes! Oh my gosh yes Alcide yes. I love you so much baby yes, I'll marry you!" She grinned from ear to ear and kissed him hard. He pulled her into him and hugged her tight. Internally she dropped her head and began to scold herself. Oh boy… this just got messy.
