The bitter chill of the wind that swept through her was the least of Lily Luna Potter's worries.

For once in her life, Lily felt helpless.

Her cousins didn't want anything to do with her. Not even her own brothers would speak to her anymore. Any kind of relationship she once had with her older cousin Rose, has now been shattered into a million pieces, and it felt like one of those pieces sliced through her heart.

It had all started two months ago…

Scorpius grinned and pulled Lily closer to him, and wrapped his arms around her tiny waist.

"Should we really be doing this?" Lily whispered and tightened her grip on the back of his shirt, as Scorpius left tiny kisses down the side of her neck.

Scorpius smiled, "I think so. There's no one stopping us," he mumbled.

Suddenly, a door slammed shut.

A girl with a short temper, fiery red hair and piercing brown eyes marched up and shoved Scorpius away from Lily.

Lily suddenly felt a sharp pain across her face, and she stumbled back. Tears welled up in her eyes as she rubbed her cheek, where she had been slapped.

"How DARE you, Lily Luna Potter!" Rose screamed.

Rose was known to be the jealous type; Lily just didn't see it very often.

"R-Rose…it was an honest mistake," Lily begged her cousin.

Rose's eyes twitched. "An honest MISTAKE? You call kissing my boyfriend and HONEST mistake?"

"Rose…please, let's not do this here…" Scorpius came over and put his arm around Rose's neck.

She pushed Scorpius' arm off her, and Rose slapped Lily across the face once more, before marching off with her nose in the air.

Lily turned to Scorpius. "I…need to get some air," she said, and rushed away quickly before he could see the tears roll down her red cheeks.

She breathed in deeply, and pulled her knees up to her chest.

It felt like she had been cut off from everybody. Nobody wanted anything to do with Lily Luna Potter anymore; not after she stole Rose Weasley's boyfriend, Scorpius Malfoy.

At the thought of Rose, Lily's eyes darkened and she felt hatred boil up inside of her.

God, how she hated Rose.
She was the one with the perfect life. She got everything she wanted – everything Lily had always wanted. Exceptional grades. Head girl. Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. And -

"Lily?" a voice broke the silence, and Lily's train of thought disappeared.

She looked up to find none other than Scorpius Malfoy, standing in front of her, with his hand outstretched, like he wanted her to take it.

She did. Scorpius pulled her up, and with a finger, wiped the tears off her face and brushed the hair out of her eyes.

"Are you okay?" he wanted to know.

Lily nodded. "I'm okay."

"Want to go back inside the common room?" Scorpius asked.

"Is Rose or anyone else in there?" Lily said.

Scorpius grinned.
"Nope, it's just you and me."

At least she now had something that her cousin no longer did have.
Something Lily had always wanted…

And when she stood in front of the Mirror of Erised later that night; she saw her reflection staring back at her – surrounded by her family, her cousin Rose grinning from ear to ear on her left, and her brothers in the finest dress robes standing behind her, and her parents next to them, all crying and smiling at how proud they were of their daughter.

How proud they were to give her away to her one true love.

Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy.
