Hey everyone. This is my first Fanfic in English. This is not my native language and I do this trying to practice and improve my English so any error or any mistake please comment it and I will try to fix it. Thank you very much.

- ¡Stop it Asuka! - Shinji said - ¡I don't want to hurt you! -

Immediately an enormous robotic red arm hit his EVA.

- ¡Shut up stupid brat! - Asuka replied.

He moves the EVA 01 through the mountains trying to flee from her.

She didn't stop and followed him.

- ¡You are going to kill us, you are going to kill everybody! - She cried - ¿¡Didn't you learn from the last time!? -

- ¡NO! - He replied - ¡I will save us, I will repair this world! -

It was almost the night. The sky was red and the landscape was completely on fire. They have been fighting for around 2 hours. The Wunder has been destroyed by the NERV´s EVA-Series and Mari and unit 8 have been sent to protect the village from the other NERV´s war machines. This fight was between them, nobody was going to help them.

The EVA 01 appears and jumps to her with the progressive knife in its hands. With a fast movement, unit 02 got to avoid the hit. He almost reached her head.

- Oh - Asuka was annoyed -!You really wanted to kill me! -

She took with her hands Shinji's wrist and take away from him the progressive knife.

- ¡Now it's my turn stupid! - Scream again - ¡I wouldn't fail -

After a long time fighting there weren't any more weapons. That progressive knife was the best option for both. Whoever controls it would have the best option to defeat the other.

One hit. Then another. Asuka wouldn't stop. One hit after another. She wouldn't fail. She wouldn't lose against that idiot.

Shinji used his forearms to protect him against the Asukas´s assault. He never saw her like that. She really wants to kill him. And maybe he wanted to do the same to her.

- ¡You don't understand! - He tried to reason with her - ¡I will rewrite the world, I will make this a better place for all us, I will take Misato back! - He said to her desperately.

- ¡Stupid, You can't do that, you can't rewrite anything! She increases her attacks' brutality and makes Shinji fall to the ground - ¡You are being like your father! -

That words make him explode with rage.

- ¡I am not my father! - His fits hit her head and unit 02 falls some meters apart.

Asuka was stun after that strong hit. She caresses her face trying to calm the pain. She couldn't believe what was happening.

- ¡I killed him!- Shinji cried - and I would do it again the times it will be necessary! - He was breathing very fast. His throat hurt after all these screams. He will do whatever it takes to start the impact. To mend his faults.

Shijo took the progressive knife.

- I don't want to hurt you - He said the truth - but, if you keep your offensive, I won't have more options - She could feel the severity of his words.

Then, her rage turns into sadness. A lot of feelings emanate from her. The man who sometimes she loved... No, the man she loves. That man was trying to kill everybody. That man was turning into his father, the worst villain in the world. She doesn't want it to happen. She will kill him if necessary but, she wouldn't let him turn into his father.

- Shinji - Asuka said quitter meanwhile the unit 02 tried to stand up - Please - Her eyes start to fill with tears.

The EVA 01 gave her the back. Her voice tone make an effect on him but he couldn't be weak. He must reach Lilith and start the impact. But then... she talk.

- We don't hate you... if it is what you think... I don't hate you- Her voice turns gentle - When you disappeared, no one of us knows what to do, we feel lost without you... I feel lost without you-

Her words make Shinji turns back to look at her.

- We... I... I just miss you - She wasn't Asuka. There wasn't sarcasm, hate, bad intentions she doesn't look like the Asuka he knows but.. there was her - You have to know... when I ate your bento... it was very tasteful - She looks at him - I think that... I liked you in that time - I little flushing form on her cheeks - I never had a home, but, with you... I felt like that -

Shinji stays quiet. He doesn't know what to answer to her, but he really knows how she makes him feel. That was just so sudden.

- Asuka...-

- No - She interrupted him - I have not finished - She said. She was more serious now - You join your father 3 years ago, you helped him, you fought beside NERV while we were trying to stop the angels and to stop Gendo - She look directly into his eyes - I saw die a lot of people because NERV, I saw how the world turns into dust, I saw all this and more and they always said that it was your fault, that you turn into your father... I never believe them, I didn't want to believe them and I had hope that you come back... then, then you kill Gendo and I dream to see you again but... but now you are here trying to continue his plans and I am absolutely confused... Just... ¿tell me why? -

Shinji looks at the ground. Both EVAs were stand up looking directly at each other. A slight breeze moves the leaves of the forest. The darkness in the sky allows seeing the moon in its best form. The most beautiful one. A lot of fires were around them, turning to ashes the world. A red world with a beautiful moon. ¿Is this the way the world comes to an end?.

- When I joined him, he told me all the truth - Shinji start to talk - My mom, NERV, SEELE, Rei, Kaworu, Misato, Kaji, you and me... - He look at his hand and close it - The EVA... Asuka you have to know that the EVAs are not... They were not built by us -

Asuka open her eyes.

- This is not the first time it happens - He continues - The EVAs are just as old as the universe, they have been always here since the beginning of... everything... My father knew it, also my mother, and now I do, as well as you - Shinji moves near to her - My father just wanted to keep this cycle, to keep this suffering until he got to stay with my mother... She is everything he wanted but... but he never got to stay with her, something always happens and... instead of that, he tries again - His voice down in volume - When I was with Kaworu he showed me all this, time after time, cycle after cycle... the same result, he destroyed himself-

- And he needs the EVAs to start it again - Asuka finished. She start to understand.

- Yes -

Silence

- I want to stop that... A world without EVA, the last world possible... A world of happiness - he looks at her.

- ¿How do you know that it will be a happy one? - Asuka asked.

- I don't know... But without EVA, it will be something different so...-

Asuka keeps silent for a moment and thinks about all this. And she remembered.

- Idiot... You want to escape... The EVA is not the fault, they are not the cause of our suffering... They are the proof of our existence, they are what we want them to be, just a tool of the pilot and if you want to change the world, change the pilot... change yourself - She keeps her gaze at him. Once, who knows how many lives before, her mother has told her that and knows she really understands what it means.

Shinji draw a little smile on his face. He remembered too.

- She told me the same - Shinji pointed to his EVA - ¿Do you know something Asuka? - He asked her - there, with Kaworu, he show me each cycle and... in every one of them, you and me, we always meet each other, no matter what - He smiles to her - We fight, we cry, we talk, we open to the other or we close every way to the other, but, in some point, I start to love you -

Inside of her a warm feeling start to grow.

- Then we fight again... Then an apologize and a time after again another fight... until there is no more time and the world ends - Shinji put a hand in his neck - sometimes I think that is the nature of our relationship, what it has to be... We love each other and hated each other... but whatever happens, I know I will see you again - He was speaking from the bottom of his heart - I want to see you again Asuka.

She understands. She now knows what she must do. She feels the same. She has seen the same. The universe gives the problems but also gives the solutions. That is the nature of them, Asuka and Shinji, Love and Hate. There is always a reason. And now she knows the reason. The reason why she has to fight with him. No matter what. Maybe the universe prepare her for this moment. Maybe the universe make her fight against him all that times before because of this moment.

- I love you Shinji- Asuka put her EVA in a battle position.

Shinji understands what she means.

- I love you Asuka - And Shinji takes the progressive knife.

Then they start again.

One last fight... or not?
