So it has been a while since I have written anything. I am not sure if I will finish Evil Takes All. I seem to have hit a road block with that story. But here is a little one shot that popped into my head.
I do not own Digimon.
She didn't know what to think. They had only been married for six month. Were they ready for this? What would he think? Would he be happy? Sad? Mad? So many thoughts going through her head. She was glad to be home alone right now but she knew he would be home from work soon. She was taken out of her thoughts when there was a knock at the door.
"Kari thanks so much for coming over."
"Of course Yolei. You sounded so worried on the phone."
"Well I have every right to be."
Yolei then showed Kari what was worrying her. Kari suddenly looked at Yolei and then hugged the girl. Yolei was completely taken off guard.
"This is great Yolei."
"Really? You think so?"
"Of course! You were always saying that you wanted to start but I didn't think that it would happen this soon."
"Do you think Ken is going to be upset?"
"No why would he be. He has been wanting this to happen too."
"I know and we talked about it together but we have only been married for six months. I thought for sure we would have waiting a little longer. We were so careful too."
"Sometimes things happen and this was something that was obviously fated to happen to the both of you."
"Kari please..."
"I'm serious Yolei."
Their conversation was cut short when the door to the apartment opened. Ken came walking in with Wormmon. Ken quickly took in the scene in front of him. Being a detective he could see something was wrong. The look on his wife's face said it all.
"Yolei what's wrong?"
"I will leave you guys to talk. Good luck."
"Thanks Kari. I will call you later."
"Tell Davis I said hello."
"Sure will Ken."
Kari left and suddenly Yolei felt her nerves get the better of her. She didn't know how to tell him. Should she just come out and say it? Should she take it slow? No that would just make him worry about her more. Yolei was so lost in her thoughts that she never saw Ken move closer to her.
"Hey is everything alright. You know you can talk to me."
"I think we should sit down Ken."
"Okay if that will help you feel a little better."
They both sat down on the couch. Ken put his hand on his wife's knee. He could feel her body shaking. He looked at her and he could see she was working something out in her mind.
"Relax Yolei. Please talk to me."
"I don't know how to say it."
"Come on you never have problems saying how you are feeling. That is one thing I love about you."
"I know but this is different. This revolves around the both of us, not just me. But you're right. Maybe I should just come right out and say it."
Yolei put her hand on Ken's that was on her knee. She then finally looked up at him and looked him in the eye. Yolei took a deep breath and said the problem that has been plaguing her all day.
"I'm pregnant."
Silence passed between the two of them. Yolei couldn't tell what Ken was thinking or feeling. He was just staring at her, eyes wide. Yolei was about to say something when Ken suddenly pulled her to him engulfing her is a huge hug.
"That is great news Yolei. We are finally starting our family."
"You aren't upset?"
"No why would I be? This is the happiest news I have heard all day. I love you."
Yolei smiled into Ken's shoulder. She was worrying about nothing. Ken was right they are starting their family. Sure they are still young but that didn't matter. He was happy about the news and that made her happy.
"I love you too."
