A cool breeze swept through Langley Falls. Summer had ended, school was back in session. Nothing weird... Yet!

Stan was at work typing on his computer. Bullock walked up to him in surprise. "Stan, I need you to take charge while I'm away." He told him. Stan looked up. "But you just came back from vacation last week." Stan said.

"I know. But it's only to run to the bookstore. There's this new goosebumps spin off series called "Brainmares." Everyone's saying it's the coolest book series." Bullock said. He held up a newspaper with the front paging reading. "Brainmares New Popular Book Series."

Stan didn't look amused. "Isn't that copyright. I mean who's the author? R.L. Stine?" He asked.

Bullock shook his head. "Nobody knows. But some people have been calling him. R. Jam. That's just what people have seen on the cover."

Stan pushed the paper away and continued to work. Bullock left. Around closing time, Jackson walked up to Stan as he was walking to the exit.

"Stan, didn't you here. Goosebumps is back!" He announced excitedly.

"What do you mean?" Stan said not amused. "The original series by R.L. Stine?"

Jackson shook his head. "No. Brainmares. It's like Goosebumps." He held up the same paper that Bullock showed him not long ago. Stan was still not amused. He said meh as he walked to the car and drove home. On the radio, the man only talked about the series Brainmares.

"Brainmares. It's a new book series created by R. Jam." He spoke. Stan turned the station. "And now that was Jerry Wheel with Hold That Thought. Breaking News, a new book series called Brainmares, has recently been selling like crazy all over town. Hurry and pick out a copy..."

Stan turned the radio again. And all they were talking about was Brainmares. Even the old station. He was fed up and drove straight home.

He walked in and gasped. His whole family were reading the new book series. "Hey, Stan." Francine greeted. She went back to reading her book. "How was work?"

"Tiring!" Stan groaned. "People started talking about this new goosebumps spin off series called Brainmares." He sat down and groaned. Hailey walked down. "It's a good book series. Especially this one. The Unknown Across the Street. It's about this boy named Michael, and..." Before she could continue Stan interrupted.

"Sounds stupid!"

Steve scoffed and walked over. "This one is way cooler. A Week At Camp Snake. It features a boy..." Before he could continue, Stan interrupted and said the same thing.

"Sounds stupid!"

"Just read one chapter." Francine insisted. She held her copy of The Headless Hitcher in front of him. Stan snarled. "Fine. One chapter. This better be good." He snatched the book and began reading.

His eyes widen as he read. "Oh... Oh my... What, what's going to happen to him?" Stan quivered. He turned the page and read on. Sweat fell down him. His teeth gritted. He handed the book back to Francine and said. "Frightening. Cool. Guys, when's the next book supposed to be released?"

"It was already released. Number sixty, Wolf Fur. But the next book after this one is The Snow Guy From Alaska." Steve said. He picked up the book and flipped it to the back with a piece of paper that read. "Don't miss number thirty-eight. The Snow Guy From Alaska."

"According to the fandom. It says it's about this girl named Callie, who goes on a trip to Alaska and finds this snowman creature."

Stan was excited. "Hm. Well we better hurry to the bookstore." He grabbed his jacket again. The family walked out except Roger. He apparently already had a copy. He sat in the attic with his feet on the table. "Pretty good. Not bad. What's the next story?"

Back to the Smiths. They had just arrived at the store. A employee walked out and began to lock the door. Stan approached him. "Excuse me, what time do you guys close." The man turned around and said "Now."

"Well can we at least have four copies of Brainmare book, The Snow Guy From Alaska. As well as four copies of Wolf Fur?" Stan said. The man shook his head. "I told you guys, we're closed. We open tomorrow at nine."

Stan angrily grabbed the guy by the shirt. "Please. Will pay double the amount." The guy scoffed. "Fine." he unlocked the door. "Be quick." The family rushed in and grabbed their copies. Stan even grabbed a few of the previous releases. "Thank you, sir." He stuffed a hundred dollar bill in his sweatshirt pocket.

Back home. Everyone sat on the couch and cracked open the book. The story started off pretty simple. "Alaska. The coldest state. That's where we're going, me and my brother Jimmy, and my dad Dr. Ben." Stan read allowed.

It was pretty boring at the beginning. So he decided to flip through a couple pages. "A-ha. Here we go. The snowman stood at least ten feet tall. It had a blue scarf around it's neck, with a happy smiling face made of rocks. I noticed two sticks on the ground, and that gave me an idea. What if the snowman had feet? I picked up the sticks and stuck them in the bottom layer of the giant snowball."

Steve took over. " 'It looks kind of goofy.' Jimmy said. He chucked a snowball at me, hitting me in the back. He started to laugh.""Quite it!" I said. Jimmy rolled his eyes. We both walked back to the cabin to warm up.

Hailey began to read. "Me and Jim walked in. 'Dad!' I called. No answer. He's probably out discovering over something. We both grabbed our hot chocolate that sat on the counter and then sat next to the fire place. I held my hands out near the glowing fire. It crackled and popped. I rubbed my hands together then picked up my hot chocolate and took a swig. 'Ow!' I squealed. The hot chocolate had burnt my lip and tongue just a bit. I laughed before hearing a knock."

As soon as Hailey flipped the page to the next chapter, a knock was heard. This made Steve go wild eyed. He stared at the door, then walked up to answer it. Nobody.

"Ding dong ditchers I guess." Stan said. He went back to concentrating on the book. Hailey went back to reading. "Anyway. Jimmy walked to the door and opened it. A cool breeze swept through. Nobody was there. 'Hello?' Jimmy called. His voice echoed in the distance. The snow continued to heavily fall with the strong winds howling. He closed the door and walked back near the fire. He knelt down and held his arms out near the open fire trying to warm up."

Steve, who was sitting near the window glimpsed from his book to the outside and noticed snow starting to fall. "Hey, snow!" He casually said. Hailey looked up from her book and nodded at Stan for him to read.

" 'Who was that?' I asked, taking a drink of my hot chocolate. Jimmy sighed. 'Nobody.' Weird. 'Nobody was there.' I got a chill. I got up and walked to the window and peered out. It was hard to see with the snow flakes frantically and fastly falling. The wind howled. It looks like it's getting worse out there. And dad was out somewhere searching for some snow creature he heard about." Stan read.

"I rested my head on my hand and that's when I gasped. The snowman we built earlier. It was gone. All that was left was a big, giant mark were it stood. Weird and odd. I started to worry about dad. He's been out there for hours in the freezing cold. I walked to the door and opened it. A heavy cold breeze swept in and smacked my face. I cuffed my hands around my mouth and yelled. 'Dad!' My voice echoed in the distance. No reply. I did it again. Shouting louder. 'Dad!' My voice echoed again."

"I couldn't hear anything. Except the howling wind."

Before Stan could continue, another knock was heard. Stan growled as he got up to see who it was. "Dumb bitches. You guys think it's funny to ding dong ditch me!" He said furious. He opened the door and stepped out. "Who's there! Show yourself!"

But nobody was there. The lights to every house in the neighborhood were off. The street lights panned down on the road. Nobody. The snow continued to fall fast with the wind. Stan peered down at his feet and noticed a newspaper. He leaned down to pick it up, but the paper began to move as a breeze swept through. "Hey!"

He chased after it. The rest of the family stepped out as they watched Stan run down the road and fading into the snowy mist. Hailey started to freak out. "Ok, Steve. What did Callie do again?" Steve held up his book and read the paragraph that Stan just did. "I walked to the door and opened it. A heavy cold breeze swept in and smacked me in the face. I cuffed my hands around my mouth and yelled. 'Dad!' My voice echoed in the distance. I did it again. Shouting louder. 'Dad!' My voice echoed again."

Hailey held her hand out to stop her brother from reading any further. She then walked across the lawn on the sidewalk and cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted in direction Stan ran down. "Dad!" She screamed. Her voice echoed. She did it again. "Dad!" Once again her voice echoed with no reply. Wind howled.

She couldn't believe it. She began to breathe heavily. Everything that happened in the story, was happening right now. She ran to her dad's car and tried to open it. Locked. "Mom, where does dad keep his keys?" She said.

"Where do you think?" Francine replied. "In his pocket. Luckily your mother knows how to carjack." She reached in her pocket and pulled out a hairpin that she used to pick the lock with. She then opened the door and got in, then worked on turning on the car. It started.

Everyone jumped in. Francine pulled out and sped off. It was hard to see with snow, even with the windshield wipers on. The car swerved from side to side due to the ice. At one point she nearly crashed into a fire hydrant.

Hailey poked her head out the window and started to call for her dad. Nobody answered. The streets were completely empty. A couple of cars drove by and that's it. Hailey popped her head back in and sighed. "Where could he be?"

She looked up and noticed a silhouette of a creature in the distance. "That must be him. Stop." Hailey said. Francine slammed on the break as the car began to swerve sideways. Hailey once again leaned out the window and yelled. "Dad. Dad is that you?" No response came from the shadowy figure that stood in the middle of the road.

Suddenly it began to rise as it snarled. The creature turned around and howled. This caused the family to scream in sheer terror. "Oh my..." Hailey said. The creature began to slowly walk towards the car. "What is that?" Steve cried.

Once the creature was close enough to make out. Hailey screamed as loud as she could. "No. There's no way. It's the wolf from the Brainmare book The Howling Host!" The wolf howled as it continued to walk to the car. Francine screamed. Hailey shoved her to the back with Steve. "Move it woman." She hoped in the front seat and quickly sped away. The wolf charged after it and then lunged and landed on top of the car.

It tried to pry open the roof. Hailey made a sharp turn and the wolf flew off. She turned back to her frighten brother and mother. "Don't worry. He's gone. Now that's done.""Um, are you sure." Steve muttered pointing. Hailey looked ahead and screamed. A giant beetle stood up ahead. "The beetle from Why I Don't Like Bugs." The beetle screeched as it started to charge at the car. Hailey swerved down a street. The giant bug followed fast. She turned to her mother.

"Does dad keep bug spray in here?" Francine nodded. "A big jug. I don't know if it'll do." Hailey snatched it and leaned out the window. "Eat this, mother fucker!" She chucked the huge bottle at the bug. It screeched and collapsed.

Those seemed to be the only monsters so far. Hailey continued to drive around, speeding down the empty streets. No sign of her dad anywhere. Hailey continued to drive until something caught her eye. Up in the distance another creature stood in the middle of the road.

She gasped as she drove closer and closer to it. She slammed on the breaks. In plain view a young deer stood in the middle of the road, starring at the three. "Oh, it's just a deer." Hailey sighed. She got out to approach it. "Hey. What are you doing out here?"

She constructed it to follow her and get in the car. She popped open the hood and allowed the animal to get in. "You must've came from the forest. I'll drive you back there." The deer grunted. Hailey smiled as she closed the door and walked back to the drivers side where she took off.

Steve laughed as he reached his hand back to pet it. Suddenly he screamed. The deer poked it's head out from behind and began to jab his antlers at Steve. He screamed trying to dodge every attack. "Mad deer. Mad deer!" He screamed. Francine smacked the deers head and tried to get ahold of it.

Hailey began to freak out. She peered in the review mirror and gasped. A blue collar was shown attached to the deers neck. She slammed on the breaks. "Steve stop! If you keep moving he'll only attack more." Francine said, trying to pry the deer from him.

Hailey panted heavily. "No. It's Brian. Brian from the Brainmare book Help! I'm A Deer." She reached back and grabbed ahold of the collar. "Brian! Brian! Listen to me." She started. Brian kept moving. "Brian, grunt this. I'm a human. I'm a human. I'm a human."

Hearing this made him grunt. He continued to do it as he screamed. Hailey let go of his collar as he stopped squirming. Brian collapsed in back. "I killed a deer." Hailey stated. "Don't tell me it's dead." Silence. Eventually a cough came out. Brian lifted his head up over the seat.

"Ugh. What?" He groaned. "What happened?" He was back. Still a crossbreed. Still had his antlers and spots and tail. He opened his eyes and sighed. "I'm back."

Steve gasped as he shielded himself. "Don't hurt me, please." Brian chucked. "Why would I hurt you?" He asked. Steve quivered as he tried not to make eye contact with him. Brian rolled his eyes as he kept down. Hailey started to slowly drive. She was completely scared. Who did this? She thought to herself, who brought these creatures to life? These questions ran through her head.

It cut back to the Smiths residence. It turns out Roger was the one responsible for making the monsters come to life. He sat in the attic with every book. All he did was write alive in the book and boom.

"This will teach those guys a lesson for not buying me the stuff I wanted from the store. Especially Halloween candy." Roger said.Klaus watched from his bowl. He poked his head out of the water and said. "Don't you think this trick is going too far?" Roger scoffed and shook his head.

"No, this is." He picked up a book and wrote in it. Suddenly the seaweed diver from the book Underwater Monster II stood behind Klaus. He turned around and screamed as the diver grabbed him and placed him in a algae glass tank making Klaus freak out.

"Ooh." He groaned. "The filth. The disgustment."

Going back to Hailey and the group, the snow slowed down making it a little more easier to see. She stopped as she noticed her dad. She let out a gasp. It turned out he'd been trapped by a Jell-O substance. "Zombie Brains!" Hailey yelled. "The disgusting, sticky, slimy food. It's like monster blood. It eats everything in its path."

Stan apparently had been attacked by it. He laid on the ground with half of his body stuck in the Jell-O. "Hailey, help!" He called reaching for his daughter. Hailey ran over and grabbed him, trying to pull him out. It was too strong. It was tough. No matter how hard she pulled, the slime continued to suck up Stan.

Francine and Steve jumped out and grabbed him and pulled with all there might. Eventually he came loose and slid out. Stan groaned as he wiped the Jell-O off. "There's no way I'm touching Jell-O again." The family hopped back in the car and slowly drove through town back to there house.

They thought the terror was over, but they were wrong...

Steve looked out the window and caught a glimpse of something in the front mirror. Something tall and huge followed behind. He looked behind and screamed. A giant spider followed. It hissed as it shot one of it's legs on top of the car. It missed. Steve leaned forward and screamed. "Floor it!"

Stan slammed on the gas. The car sped forward and fast, sliding at some points. "What the fuck is that thing?" He said. "The giant spider from the Brainmare book Zombie Brains III." Hailey said with a scared expression. Stan turned down a street and slammed on his breaks. The Jell-O. It slowly moved it's way to the car.

He backed up and sped off the other way, escaping it before it could touch the car. Steve looked behind a sighed. He let out a sigh of relief. "We lost them."

Stan drove straight home. He walked up to the door and opened it and gasped. More monsters. The rat from Attention All Monsters. The floating costumes from Attack of the Costumes. Mr. Bat from Bat Breath, and more.

Some looked at the Smiths and groaned, walking to them. "Attack!" said Mr. Slime from Dare Day. The monsters slowly made their way to the family. Stan was tough. He reached in his shirt and pulled out his pistol and began rapid firing.

Some monsters fell after being shot. But the others were smart and tough and dodged them. The wolf from The Howling Host appeared. It's yellow eyes locked onto Steve and Hailey. It smacked it's lips and snarled, walking slowly to the frightened kids.

Stan gasped and shot the wolf just as it lunged for a bite. The remaining monsters began to back up. "Yeah, that's right keep walking!" He said with his gun aimed at them.

Suddenly, out of nowhere the Jell-O substance lunged at Stan, eating him in one bite. The others gasped. Steve ran over to it and began beating it with a wooden plank. Of course it growled and it ate the wood. This made Steve gulp and back away slowly. "Uh, nice slime. Very nice slime!" He whimpered as the Jell-O slowly slithered to Steve.

As it rose to attack. Francine jumped in front with a wooden sword. She swung it back and forth, then jabbed it into the center of it. It began to weaken. It coughed up green slime.

"I wonder what else weakens it." Francine said, struggling to remove the wooden sword from the slime.

Hailey ran out with a bowl of junk food. Potato chips, and pretzels. She chucked it at it. Then boom! The slime exploded. Jell-O blasted everywhere. But it was defeated. And the stuff the Jell-O consumed laid everywhere.

Stan laid on the lawn unconscious. "Dad!" Hailey screamed. She ran over and tried helping him. Suddenly a hiss was heard. Snakes! A whole army of different snakes. From rattlesnakes to pythons. They all slithered their way to Hailey.

Hailey began to panic. "Ew. The snakes from A Week At Camp Snake."

Steve screamed. "Who the fuck is bringing these creatures to life?"

Suddenly Roger laughed. "Me!" He stood at the doorway, holding a book. "I've been bringing the characters to life."

Stan slowly began to wake up. "But, why. Why Roger?" He groaned.

"Because you stopped buying me everything I wanted from the store. Pecan Sandies, cheese balls, all the stuff I like." Roger said.

The snakes wrapped themselves around Stan.

"We forgot. We all forget." Stan groaned, trying to break free from the snakes grip. He squirmed trying to loosen himself. "Let me go!"

Roger thought for a moment. "Hm. Throw in three boxes of Pecan Sandies and a large jar of cheese balls and we got a deal."

"Right. Mom let's go." Hailey said walking to the car. The two drove off leaving Stan and Roger. Stan continued to fight and pry the snakes off of him. "Roger, you're being crazy. Why did you do this?"

"Oh, I just wanted to know what would happen if I released the monsters from the book. How they would act." Roger said.

Once Stan was finally able to get up he chucked a snake at Roger. It landed on him. Roger began to freak out. "Ah. Snakes. Don't bite me. I'm too handsome." He continued to swat at himself.

Francine rolled up the drive way as Roger continued to run around with the snake slithering all over him. "Bad snake!" He repeated. "Get off me." He noticed Francine with the three boxes of Pecan Sandies and took them. "Thanks Frannie."

Steve ran over and ripped the snake off from around Rogers neck allowing the alien to catch a breath. Roger panted. He ripped open the box of Sandies and stuffed them in his mouth. "Oh, yeah. That's the stuff."

"You're welcome." said Steve sarcastically before the wolf snuck up behind him. He screamed trying to fight back.

"How do we stop this?" Stan demanded. Roger took a breath. "I have to erase the message."

"From how many. How many monsters did you bring to life?" Stan said. Roger chuckled nervously. "Uh. Sixty?"

Stan couldn't believe it. He shook his head and said. "Let's just kill off these monsters, then will talk." The two walked inside into the attic.

Together the two sat. One book at a time they erased the word "Alive" from the first page of the book. Once everything was said and done, the monsters collapsed and were sucked back in each book were they came, and everything went back to normal.

A couple of months after the family went back to what they normally did. There was still one thing missing. What happened to Klaus?
