The 1st Hunger Games were won by 16 year old Cassius Health from District 2. These Games were very popular as they were the first Hunger Games, but were not televised.
The 1st Hunger Games
That year, the Arena was an old amphitheater.
Like most other tributes, Cassius was unsure how this event would play out. When the gong sounded, he ran forth and grabbed a sword whilst other tributes (especially from the outer districts) stood unmoving and dazed, still unsure of whether or not this was a sick prank from The Capitol. However when Cassius plunged his sword through the stomach of Liliana Sonnet (District 11) and hence achieved the first ever kill in the history of the games, those tributes who has not yet taken a weapon or fled sprang into action when they realized it was not a nightmare, but rather a harsh reality of what the next few hour would entail.
Post Games
Cassius returned to District 2 as a hero and became a leading officer of the peacekeepers within his district.
