At the Shire, the corpses of hobbits and men are everywhere.
Talion, cursed and empowered by Isildur's ring of power, is seen fighting Eltariel, an arrogant elf bearing the New Ring, Celebrimbor's Ring. The other eight Nazgul arrive and help Talion attack the elf.
The battle goes on for half an hour, but eventually Talion defeats his nemesis. He then kills her with a single blow to the head.
Before the Nazgul could retrieve Eltariel's ring of power. It levitates to a Jedi wielding an emerald blade, Luke Skywalker.
"Talion, it is not too late to leave the Nine and come back to the light," says Luke, pocketing the New Ring, "join us in saving Middle-Earth. I know you still are good at heart."
"I do not follow the Jedi or the Force, I follow a new path," says Talion.
"Then join us in saving Middle-Earth from evil, free from the shackles of Sauron and the dark side."
Talion chuckles.
"Don't betray Ioreth and Dirhael," he says. "They would not want this."
The comment is like a stab to Talion's heart. Pain goes through him, but he fights the tears back.
He shadow strikes Skywalker.
Luke blocks Talion's swing with his lightsaber. The blades clash together immensely, but neither can gain the advantage.
The other eight Nazul prepare to fire a charged blast at Luke.
"DIE JEDI!" they all say, their blast heading towards him...
Turning off his lightsaber, he takes a split-second to concentrate. He uses the force to repulse the blast, turning it back on the eight Ring-wraiths.
Laughing, they easily dodge the blasts as they fly back at their owners.
A Nazgul prepares to shadow strike at Luke.
Luke blocks an attack by the Nazgul before stabbing him in the face, banishing him.
Skywalker then focuses his power on a jump that lands him on a building roof. He runs on the roof, along with the eight remaining Ringwraiths. He then exchanges blades with another Nazgul before executing him. After enough running, he loses them in the forest.
Luke takes a moment to center himself.
Talion appears next to Luke, blade in hand, only to meet a swift kick from Luke's foot.
Talion rolls on the ground before jumping up and charging at Luke once more.
"Talion, I don't want to fight you, you do not want the ring's effects to destroy your mind and body. We do not have to be enemies, you have to break free."
"No... I am bound to the flaming eye... I serve only him."
The Jedi and the Gravewalker exchange blows, but while the Jedi is powerful, the Gravewalker has decades of experience.
The Gravewalker's blade flies at the Jedi's head, but he evades it.
He is not fast enough, however, to evade the sword's return trip.
As it cuts a top layer of skin on his neck, he blocks the blade with his lightsaber.
He pushes Talion to the side before slashing him across the chest.
Taking a deep breath, he focuses the New Ring onto the right side of Talion's face.
"Talion, you were a paragon for Gondor through the years, not Sauron's minion or a plaything. He only uses you for his own purposes. You still have breath in your body, your fate is still your own. Break free for Ioreth, break free for Dirhael."
Talion screams in pain as the New Ring glows with a white light surrounding it. He screams as Isildur's Ring slips off his finger, color returns to his face, and the cut on his neck appears. He falls to his knees clutching his neck as blood pools on the floor.
"Luke, the New Ring," Talion pleads with his bloody throat. "It'll heal me."
Luke takes the New Ring off his finger. Kneeling down on a knee, he offers the ring on his palm.
Through sheer willpower, the ring flies to Talion's index finger. He gasps as he feels the ring's power flowing through him, his cut throat mending itself.
Talion looks at Luke, his eyes are bright blue instead of red, and a new vigor is in him.
"You're free of Sauron's control."
"I am. Thanks to you. I remember who I am, where I am. I can't thank you enough."
"Will you join me to defeat the Dark Lord?"
Talion chuckles. "Funny, I was going to ask the same thing of you."
"Great!"
Talion notices Isildur's Ring on the floor, glowing with the stench of Sauron's power.
It calls to him like a lover, a cold, harsh lover with a powerful embrace. He picks up the ring, intrigued by its vast power but disgusted by its evilness.
"Talion, it's not worth it." Luke warns. "Don't do it."
But the ring is so powerful...
Isildur's Ring inches just a few centimeters closer to his finger. His eyebrow raises, as he strangely finds himself wanting the ring on his finger again.
"Don't do it," Luke warns again with a raised voice.
He looks at Luke, who is full of fear and doubt.
Talion closes his eyes and throws the ring at the ground before unsheathing his sword.
He swings his blade down on the ring. The sword shatters with a deafening crack. Luke and Talion fall backwards, staring at Isildur's Ring... unharmed.
"Your will is strong, RANGER!"
Sauron's voice echoes from the ring.
Luke steps forward, "Sauron, you cannot win. You have been defeated, surrender."
"Defeated? No, I don't think so. We have slain Gandalf and the Fellowship of the Ring. The armies of men do not rally to your aide. You only just escaped death at the hands of my servant, and his ring cannot be destroyed by any mortal, mortal... no matter how strong your will. Come to me. Embrace the power of the Dark Lord. You are stronger than the pitiful son of Vader. Give in, and I will give you the ring."
"Never. I am a Jedi. Like my father before me."
"Pity, then you will have the same fate as him. The Nazgul seek you out even now. Your doom is inevitable, accept your death by joining me."
Luke and Talion look at each other. "No," they say together.
"Then, you shall perish like the rest," Sauron says, the glow of Isildur's Ring fades away.
"We liberate the Shire and Rivendell."
"Right, but how?"
"With this, the New Ring, we can use it to dominate the minds of orcs, and use them against Sauron. He would be helpless against it."
"But, what about the will of the ring-bearer? What if the ring takes over you?"
"The New Ring has none of Sauron's influence. Celebrimbor and I made this ring, it shares our goals, our ideals."
"What if it gets destroyed? What if we lose it? It has none of the resilience of the other rings."
"It can only be destroyed at the same place it was created. Also it's not just the ring that makes its bearer powerful, it's also the Ringbearer. I had a lot of experience with rings of power. I can use this one much more effectively than you could, Luke."
"But, what about the rest of the Fellowship? What about Aragorn and the Army of the West? They can help."
"No, they can't… I… Isildur's ring slain many of them."
"But, there are other free peoples in Middle Earth. If you unite them together..."
"It won't be enough."
"But it's worth a try!"
"No, trust me. We will fail without this ring. Believe me."
