Chapter 1: Celebrating Shunsui Kyoraku's Birthday
Captain Ukitake was up and ready as he is having his first date with Captain Kyoraku.
Captain Ukitake put on a nice white suit with a light blue tie and nice shiny black shoes.
He grabbed a birthday card, some flowers, as he ran out of his room and ran to find Captain Kyoraku.
Captain Kyoraku was having a small chat and coffee with Lieutenant Ise and Izaya.
"So, whom are you going on a date with, Captain Kyoraku?" Nanao asked.
"Would you be calm if I told you?" Captain Kyoraku asked.
"I might be surprised." Nanao said.
Izaya stood up as he saw Captain Ukitake coming their way.
Everyone stopped and stared as a few of them screamed with joy.
"Captain, you look so handsome!" Said Kyione.
"Captain, are you going on a date? You look so handsome!" Sentaro also said.
"Wow. Never knew my captain is so handsome.~" Rukia said.
Captain Ukitake blushed as he rubbed his hair.
"Why, thank you all. Of course I'm going on a date with-" Captain Ukitake stopped as he saw Captain Kyoraku walking towards him.
Captain Ukitake turned even red as he realized he and his lover were keeping this a secret.
"Uhh…..Look! The Koi pond just had more babies!" Captain Ukitake said as everyone looked over and ran over.
Izaya, Rukia, and Nanao grabbed their captains and they ran to a quiet spot.
"That was a close one. I thought you were going to meet me by the gate, honey?" Captain Ukitake said as he pouted.
Captain Kyoraku chuckled. "I'm sorry love. I wanted some coffee. I should get ready too." Captain Kyoraku said.
"Aww, you two are so cute together. May I get a picture?" Rukia asked.
"You may. After Shunsui gets ready, we'll meet you guys by the gate." Captain Ukitake said.
"Awesome!" Rukia squealed.
"My uncle dating someone is such a beautiful love story." Nanao said as she smiled.
"I'll go make sure that everyone is still distracted." Nanao said.
"Good idea, my sweet Nanao. See you by the gate." Shunsui said as he shunpoed to his room.
Izaya smiled as he accidentally bumped into Rukia.
"Oof, I'm sorry. I'm still half asleep." Izaya said.
Rukia looked down at Izaya as she smiled at him.
"It's okay. I've been hearing so much about you. Are you Izaya?" Rukia asked.
"I am, yes. It's nice to meet you-" Izaya tilted his head.
Rukia giggled. "I'm Rukia Kuchiki. I may have seen you talking to my brother a few times." Rukia said.
"Yes. I think he's-" Izaya got interrupted by Shunsui coming back.
Captain Shunsui was wearing a pink suit with red flowers on them, a hot red tie and his hair was in a clean ponytail.
"I'm back. Ready~?" Shunsui said.
Rukia, Izaya, and Nanao all turned red.
"YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME!" They all said.
Everyone wished Captain Kyoraku a happy birthday.
Captain Kyoraku thanked everyone and hugged them.
"Thank you all. I shall see you all a little later, have fun but not too much fun." Shunsui said as he winked at everyone.
Shunsui meet up with his lover by the gates.
He gave him a hug and a small kiss.
"Ready for some pictures~?" Shunsui asked.
"Of course I am love.~" Ukitake said.
Izaya took the first two of them together.
Rukia took one with her captain.
Nanao took one with her uncle and the other with both.
Izaya took one with Rukia and Ukitake.
Then they all took one.
"Thanks! Can't wait to see how they turned out." Shunsui said.
"We'll get them printed out real soon. Now go on.~" Nanao said.
"Thanks my sweet Nanao. Shall we, my love~?" Shunsui said as he held out his arm.
"Of course, honey." Ukitake said as he held onto his lover's arm and they both headed to the world of the living.
When the two had headed to the world of the living, they both sniffed the air.
"Wow, the sky is very clear and everything looks so clean." Shunsui said.
"Very much so, babe. I miss coming here." Ukitake said.
The two lovers looked at each other as they smiled and they headed inside to the restaurant to have their date.
Once they headed in they got their booth and sat across from each other.
"Izaya, told me this is his favorite restaurant with his lover. He really likes it here." Shunsui said.
"Oh! I see. He's dating too? Is this person a soul reaper?" Ukitake asked.
"Actually, he's a human. Izaya met him while he was here going to the human college." Shunsui explained.
"Oh! I see. I bet he's a nice human." Ukitake said as he smiled.
Shunsui smiled as he put his hand on Ukitake's leg and rubbed it.
Ukitake blushed red as he looked away.
The waitress then gave them water as they ordered some sake and their food.
"Babe, I was wondering, when are you ready to tell everyone that we're dating?" Shunsui asked.
"I don't know love. I don't like keeping secrets to my squad. But it seems like Rukia has accepted it." Ukitake said.
"My sweet Nanao accepted it. Also Izaya. I'm sure everyone else will." Shunsui said.
"Yes. But wait, isn't Aizen dating Shinji? I've seen them holding hands before." Ukitake said.
"They've been dating since Aizen claimed he's a good man now and has changed and he asked out his captain. I was surprised that Captain Hirako even said 'yes'. I always thought he's the type of guy who doesn't do dating." Captain Shunsui said as he drank some of his sake.
Ukitake nodded. "And there's Captain Hitsugaya and Lieutenant Hinamori, they're dating."
"The thing is, they're boy and girl. We're both men. I don't know babe, what are you thinking of?" Shunsui asked as he scooted next to his lover.
"I was thinking…...we can try and make jokes about our relationships and see if people get it." Ukitake said as he gave a nervous smile.
"Nah. Too cliche. I would say we can use puns. How about that~?" Shunsui said he nudged on his lover.
"I think everyone will run away from that." Ukitake said.
"You're right. How about we find anyone who's dating and we can ask them about their opinion about us." Shunsui suggested.
"Good idea. We can start with Captain Hitsugaya." Ukitake said.
"Good then it's settled, babe.~ Shunsui said as he kissed his lover's cheek and scooted back to his seat to eat his food.
Ukitake blushed as he did the same.
When the two got done, Shunsui paid as they left the restaurant.
They headed to the park as they sat down on the bench, while holding hands watching kids, couples, pets, just having fun.
"I love you, Shunsui. And happy birthday." Ukitake said as he put his head on his lover's shoulders.
"Thank you my love. I love you too. I can't wait to celebrate your birthday next.~" Shunsui said as he lifted up Ukitake's chin and gave him a deep kiss.
Ukitake's eyes widened as he blushed and kissed him back.
