"What don't trust me?"
Easton Earl laughed. "Sorry habit." She apologized to her caregiver. "Sara. Can we go to the boardwalk after school?" She asked, as she stopped at the stop light and waiting for the lights to change. She was waiting for the beeps. She knew how many steps it was from the sidewalk outside her house to this stoplight. She heard the beeps and the signal change, she started walking across the street. She trusted Sara, but she liked that she could walk places on her own as well. Ten steps to cross the road and a step to step up on to the sidewalk again. "Forty steps til the next left."
Sara laughed. "Still won't let you walk yourself to school." Sara told her, lifting Eastons' arm and placed her assist device in her hand. "Here I charged it and got it updated." She nudged her. "Thanks for calling me 'Witch Lady in charge' so much appreciated. I changed my contact name back."
Easton laughed. "Obviously didn't see what I call my Dad." Easton muttered.
"I did." Sara told her.
Easton grinned and looked up at her. "I can FEEL you frowning at me." Easton stopped at the next light. "Didn't change it did you?" Easton smirked.
Sara chuckled. "I gave you one." She shrugged, she took Eastons' elbow and looked both ways to be safe. "Step down." Sara told her. As they crossed the road. "You are twelve, you shouldn't be using that kind of language."
Easton stepped on to the side walk and stopped. The noise wasn't normal street noise. A couple of other cars laid on the horns. Which means she couldn't hear them when they approached her and Sara "What is that-" Someone threw a bag over her head and pulled her back. She screamed. "SARA!" Her kidnapper lifted her clear off the ground by her waist and then clamped a hand over her mouth. She bit down through the fabric and he cursed. "SARA?" She screamed again.
She was pushed head first into a trunk of what she figured was a car. The trunk slammed close and the car sped off. ".5.-" It took forty seconds until they took a right turn and then the car stopped. "ooof." She cursed as someone opened the trunk, forced her backpack off and ripped her phone off out of her back pocket. "Ow." She grumbled, as the trunk slammed closed and she gripped her head at the impact. Good thing she was use to the dark. Bad news was being blind still didn't stop the claustrophobia from sinking in. She felt around the trunk, they did a good job cleaning it out. Not even the spare tire was left. She twisted around so she was lying on her back and reached for her pocket. 'YES' she thought. They didn't realize she had two phones. She pulled out her Assist phone and unlocked it. She turned all the sounds off and dialed 9-1-1
"911 What is your emergency." A females voice answered.
"I have been kidnapped." She whispered. "I am in the trunk of a car." Her voice quivered.
"Okay sweetheart. Don't panic. Can you tell me what kind of car? Colour or make?" The lady asked gently. "What's your name sweetheart. We are tracking the phone now."
"It's not a phone I am using. Its my Assist. It allowed me to call emergency numbers only." Easton answered. "My name is Easton Earl and I was kidnapped at the corner of Forth and Sunset." She whispered.
"Sorry did you say you were Easton Earl?" The lady asked. Easton caught the shocked hitch in her voice. Everyone knew her last name. Her Dad was the biggest Technology creator and money talked.
"Yeah." She admitted. "Sara was with me. Is she ok?" She worried.
"I will check Sweetheart." the officer told her. "Can you kick out the light and tell me what you see."
Easton laughed. "Sorry Lady. Not seeing much of anything." She felt around for where she was thinking the light would be. The car made a left turn and she restarted counting.

"Hey Luca pull up a map and pin point Forth and sunset." Commander Hicks barked, walking into the command room. "Hondo have your team standing by."
"What's going on?" Hondo asked, coming up to the table as Luca brought up the map Hicks requested.
"Twelve year old girl has been kidnapped and she is on the phone with a 911 operator." Hicks told them.
"Wow brave kid." Luca muttered, typing the street corner into the computer.
"She is telling the operator that she can tell us where they went." Hicks looked at Luca. "Since you are still not on active duty you are going to talk to her. Hondo take the team and head out and we will direct you from there." Hondo nodded and slapped Luca gently on the shoulder has he walked by.
Luca reached over to the phone and put the call on speaker. "Hey this is Officer Luca with LAPD SWAT. How are you doing kid?"
"I am stuck in the trunk of a car. I'm peachy." The girl replied with sarcasm.
Luca and Hicks looked at each other and smirked. "Sorry dumb question. Gotta name?" Luca asked, trying to hide his laughter.
"Easton." She whispered.
"Hi Easton. Can you tell me anything about the car you are in?" Luca asked. "Even the colour would be helpful."
Luca was surprised when Easton laughed. "Yeah I didn't see anything." She told him.
"That is okay. That's good they are keeping you from seeing them." Luca reassured her. "What about the trunk? Anything in there that would be useful."
Easton laughed. "You didn't talk with the female who answered the phone did you?" Luca looked at Hicks before he could say anything she continued. "I'm blind. The idiots who did this put a bag over my head. Also didn't check that I only had one phone on me."
"Sorry." Luca told her. "We are tracking your phone now." Luca looked over at the officer behind him. He nodded at Luca and started typing.
"The trunk is very square, even the door doesn't get smaller, it seems to be the same size all the way down. Doesn't seem to cut in as it get to the bottom. If that makes sense. Also its older, it smells like rust and I would think by the wind noise it's rusting out."
Luca grinned. "That's great. I can work with that."
She heard clicking noise, as if he was typing on the computer "Is Sara okay?" She asked again.
Luca looked at Hicks confused. "Sara? Who's Sara?" Luca asked gently. "Was she with you?"
"She's the one that keeps me from walking into oncoming traffic." She joked. "She was there. I think something happened to her. She didn't say anything when I was screaming."
Luca looked over at Hicks. He nodded. "We will try to find Sara." Luca reassured. "I have a map up and a team standing by. How do you think you can help get a location on you?"

"Ooof." Easton muttered as they took another turn. "I was kidnapped on the corner of forth and sunset. The car was on forth and turned left on to sunset. It was forty seconds and a right turn when they stopped and took my backpack and phone. When they got back in the car they made a sharp left and we were on that road for 2 minutes and four stop lights." Easton told him. "Let me know when you want me to continue." She snickered.
He laughed at her comment. "I am following you. You got a pretty good sense of direction for someone who can't see." Luca mentioned.
"A ten second right turn. Left turn eighty seconds and four lights." Easton continued.
"Got it. Easton give me a minute while I update my team." Luca told her.
"Okay." She whispered as the line went quiet. 'WONDER IF DAD KNOWS'
It felt like forever until Luca came back on the line. "Safe to talk still?" He whispered.
"Yup still in the trunk. Took another left turn though." She updated him. "I can hear two voices talking. The wind noise is too loud for me to hear what they are saying." She told him.
"Don't try." Luca cautioned. She could hear what he wasn't really saying. He was nervous, like knowing what they were saying put her in more danger.

"What do we know about Easton Earl?" Chris asked, as they drove to the last known location. She made a few last adjustments to her weapon.
"Twelve years old female. Kidnapped just a little more then a hour ago." Deacon updated them, reading the file they had on her. "Her dad is the Darwin Earl. Tech tycoon." Deacon frowned. "Also says she is legally blind."
"That is going to be a challenge." Chris spoke up. "She is going to be a wild card on this."
Hondo nodded. "It's not ideal, but she is giving us an update on her location. Kids got guts."
"You can say that again." Deacon agreed. "Blind but not going down without a fight. That is for sure."
"Could get her seriously hurt." Chris warned.
SWAT SWAT SWAT SWAT
"Could get her seriously hurt."
Easton heard it. Luca turned the phone down but not mute and since she was blind she could hear alot more then most people think. "Cause the outcome of not helping the cops is anymore dangerous then where I am at." She groused.
Luca got back on the phone. "Sorry Easton." Luca apologized for Chris' word.
"You got some pretty good ears their." Hicks told her.
"Being blind has its per- keep quiet a moment." She warned them.
"JUST GET HER OUT OF THE TRUNK." One of the guys said.
"We stopped and they are talking about moving me out of the car." She whispered to Luca. "I am going to hide the phone. Hopefully you can still hear what is gong on."
"Easton?" Luca asked concerned.
"I can still hear you." She whispered. She heard the door slam shut and then the air moved as the trunk opened. "Hey!" She yelled as rough hands pulled her out and hit her head on the door in the process. "OW." She cursed, as tears welled up in her eyes. "What do you want?" She asked.
"SHUT UP!" The man holding her yelled. He grabbed the bag over her head and ripped it off her head. "She's blind. She can't see you." He told whoever was with him.
"How am I suppose to know who blind she is? Most blind people can still see a little." The other man said, his voice was higher and he sounded nervous.
She was put on her feet and turned to face whoever just spoke. "Tell him what you see." He asked.
She shivered. "Nothing." She whispered. "Th-the only reason I know its daylight is the warmth from the sun." She muttered. She was nervous now. She was safe in the back of the trunk. She was glad her school uniform shirt was long and she didn't tuck it into her shorts yet. Her shirt tails hid her Assist in her pocket. He knew her. How?
"Don't look so scared Honey. As long as your Dad pays us you will get out of this." The man who knew her told her.
Easton shivered. "That is what I am afraid of." She told them, as she was pulled along into a building. Her arm smacked into the door frame as they roughly pulled her into the building. She whimpered.
"East?"
Easton gasped and waited if any of the men heard Lucas' whisper. If they did, they didn't act on it. "Good luck." She muttered. "Where am I?" She asked cautiously.

"Hondo. Heads up car stop about ten minutes from your location." Hicks informed them. "Phone is still on but we can't talk to Easton anymore."
Darwin Earl entered the command center followed by a woman wearing a skirt suit. Her heels clicking as she walked. The man beside her was dressed in an expensive suit and was holding a briefcase. He screamed lawyer. "Mr. Earl." Hicks greeted at the door. "Your daughters phone is still on so please keep your voices down. We do not want to let the kidnappers know we are listening." He cautioned.
"What happened?" He asked, not entering the room. "What happened to Sara and Henri?" He asked.
"Sara was sent to the hospital she is okay. She has a fractured wrist and hit her head, but they are expecting her to her released later today." Hicks told him what he knew. "I do not have any information on Henri. Who-"
"He is Eastons' bodyguard." Darwin told him. Pulling out his phone and scrolling down his contacts. He pressed a few keys and brought the phone to his ear and took a few steps out of the room. Hicks watched him. "Henri? What happened?" He demanded, keeping his voice low. He looked over at Hicks, before
pacing down the hallway.
"I am Mr. Earls' assistant Mia Tanner." The woman in the suit introduced herself. "Anything you need let me know." Her smile faultered a little.
"I am Donnie Larson. Mr. Earls' attorney." The man said, shaking Hicks hand.
"Henri and Sara are on their way here." Darwin told them. "What is she saying?" He asked Hicks. "Can I?" He motioned to the phone. Hicks allowed him to approach Luca and the phone.
"Luca we are getting close to where she think she is. Anyway we can get anything else?" Hondo asked over the radio. He kept his voice down, knowing the call was still open with Easton.
"Yeah I got you. Gimme a minute." Luca told him. He leaned over the phone and whispered into the speaker phone. "Easton if you can hear me can you give me anything else on your location."

Easton heard the door close behind her and a wooden board slid across the door. She was pushed over to the the other side of the building. A hand put pressure on her shoulders, forcing her to sit down on the ground. He let her go and she jerked around as she felt what was "Straw?" She breathed out. She took a deep breath in through her nose and tried to place the smells around her. "Musty. Damp. Straw." She talked to herself. "Am I in a barn?" She asked, whoever was left in the room.
"SHUT UP!" Someone yelled from across the room. They were at least thirty feet away from her. She felt around the straw. She pulled her phone out carefully and buried the Assist in the straw then laying down so her ear was closer to the phone.
She heard them making a call then heard a phone ringing through the Assist on Lucas' end. "Dad?" She whispered.
"I'm here Easton." Her Dad whispered, before the phone went quiet. She was surprised she was crying. Her Dad was in Europe this morning. She can hear him on the kidnappers' phone. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" He demanded when he answered the phone.
"Four Billon dollars." Her kidnapper demanded.
"DONE." Her Dad didn't even flinch at the demand. "I WANT TO TALK TO MY DAUGHTER." Her Dad demanded.
She heard the kidnapper walking towards her and squeaked when he pulled her up into a sitting position. "Dad?" She asked, nervously.
"EASTON?" Her Dad asked in a panic. "ARE YOU OKAY?"
"Yea-yeah." She was surprised to hear so much emotion in his voice. He truly sounded distraught. "My head hurts." She admitted to them. The kidnapper dropped her and she fell back on her side. She felt around for her Assist.
"THIS WILL BE ALL OVER SOON." Her dad told her. "SEND ME THE ACCOUNT INFORMATION. WHEN CAN I GET MY DAUGHTER BACK?" He asked her kidnappers.

Kid was smart. Luca had to give her that. "Hondo she is in a barn. She told her dad her head hurts." Luca warned.
"That means no flash bangs." Hondo told his team. Tan pulled up to the closest spot they had on her last location and they cautiously exited Black Betty and in formation they scanned the area, looking for anything that could be a barn. They headed down an alley and heard a dog barking.
"Luca can you ask if she hears a dog barking?" Hondo ask over the radio.
"Easton? Do you hear a dog?" Luca whispered.
It was a few seconds before she answered. "No." She said, so quietly Luca almost didn't catch it.
"Hondo. No." Luca told him, as he watched Eastons' dad talk on the phone.
Hondo signaled for the team to turn around and head back to Black Betty. They headed to the North side and rounded a corner and seen an empty lot with a wooden shed was the only thing left in decent condition. An old red cadilac was parked out front beside the door.
"Did you find any footage of the car?" Hondo asked Luca
"Not really. Cameras were conviently down at forth and sunset." Luca scoffed. "No cars were acting suspicious in the direction she gave us."
Hondo looked at the old cadilac in front of the shed. "Any red Cadilacs rust on the driver side back door and trunk?" Hondo asked him to check.
"Yeah there is." Luca muttered. "The whole time!" He nearly shouted in anger. How did he miss it.
"Luca we found the building. Can you get a location on where she is in the building?" Hondo asked.
"Easton. Can you tell me where you are? Based on the door you came in?"

Easton puffed out a breath. She held the next one for a few seconds, listening. The kidnapper that had been on the phone was near the door and the other man was where? She tried to concentrate. She couldn't find the second guy. She shifted around loudly. She yelped when someone was so close that they grabbed her right away. "What are you doing?"
"It's uncomfortable my back hurts on the right side." She muttered, hoping Luca got the message. She rubbed her back and tried not to shake in fear. "Can you let me go?" Her voice shook.
She heard Luca talking to his team over the Assist. He got her message. She was dropped on to the straw again and she curled up into a ball. She listened to Luca on the other end talking with his team and her Dad. She then heard foot steps approaching the building. "The door is latched with a wood plank." She whispered into the Assist.
"Thanks." Luca answered back just as quietly.
"I can hear them." She whispered. BEEP BEEP BEEP
"What was that?" Luca asked alarmed.
"What was that?" Her kidnapper closest to her asked, pulling her to her feet. He started patting her down. "What was beeping?" He asked her again.
"Guys you need to get ready to go in." She heard Luca tell his team.
He shook her. "Where is it?" He asked her, shaking her. BEEP BEEP. BEEP BEEP. He held her arm in a bone crushing grip. She whimpered. He was fishing around in the straw and kicked up her Assist. "WHAT IS THIS!" He screamed at her. She shrunk away from him. "WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?" He shook her again.
"No one. It doe-doesn't make pho-phone call-lls." She stuttered, trying to shrink away from him.
"WHAT IS IT?"
"It'-it's my Assist. It was in my pocket, it helps me with reading." She stuck with the truth as much as possible. She prayed Luca hung up the phone.
"Stop lying to me!" The man screamed in her ear. He pushed her into the wall.
"Gogogogo." She heard Luca's team outside. She knew the kidnappers haven't yet. She rubbed her head as she sank down the wall. He had let her go for now, but she couldn't even run to an exit cause she didn't know where to go.

"Hondo they found her phone." Luca told him, hanging up on his end.
" . ." Hondo told his team. Street busted in the front door, allowing Hondo in first. "LAPD SWAT. PUT YOUR WEAPONS DOWN!" Hondo and Deacon yelled as they entered.
One kidnapper was standing in front of Hondo holding a cell phone. "Drop the phone and hands on your head!" He commanded, his gun trained on the man, ready for any trouble. The man was too shocked to do anything else but drop the phone and put his hands up. Hondo kept his gun trained on him as Tan secured his weapons and went hands on.
A shot rung out behind him and he swiveled to check on the rest of his team. Deacon had taken a shot and the second kidnapper was down. Chris kicked the gun out of his hand and rolled Easton out of the way. Chris hauled her to her feet and tucked her against the wall and Chris until everything was secured. "You hurt?" Chris asked as she secured her weapon. She went to place her hand on the Eastons' arms and she flinched away from the hand. "Hey. It's okay. You are safe now." Chris murmured as Hondo gave Luca and Hicks the code four all secure.

The door being forced open was loud, she wanted to cover her ears as men started shouting. She heard four male voices and one female voice. The female voice was closest to her. The man who spoke with Luca over the radios was at the door in front of her. She tried to keep still on the ground. She heard the kidnapper with the phone drop his phone and must have surrendered like Hondo yelled at him to do. She was jerked up off the ground and cold metal was pressed to her head and she heard a click. She gasped and her eyes went round in fear. A males voice was yelling at him and she tried to stay as still as possible, but he kept jerking her around with him in his panic. She leaned to her right as much as possible. Incase they ended up shooting him. He was yelling at them and she was too panicked to hear anything that was happening. A shot rang out and she jumped out of her skin. She was falling sideways and someone was rolling her away from the kidnapper and hauling her to her feet. She ended up wedged between a wall and a police officer.
"You hurt?" The female cop asked. She went to place her hand on Eastons' arm and she flinched. "Hey. You are okay. You are safe now." She murmured at her.
"Chris?" A male voice asked, he took a few steps towards them but she heard him stop. As if he wanted to give them space.
"I'm okay." She told her shaking. She was trying to catch her breath but the scent of blood was making her nauseous. She took a step forward and ran into the officer. "I-I need to-to get out-side." She told her, pushing at the officer, fumbling to get around her.
The officer grabbed her arm and walked her through the building. "Okay. Calm down." She told her. "Here sit down." She got her to sit on a hard metal surface. "Feeling better?" Easton nodded. "Okay. My teammate here is going to look you over as we wait for a R- Paramedics." She turned her head to the left. "Deacon."
Easton looked where she was talking. "Deacon? I don't think I need a priest. Did I die?" She smirked. "Hope not was really looking forward to seeing in the afterlife." She confessed
A man to her left chuckled. "Here is to hoping that happens but not for a very long time." The man told her, placing his hand on her arm. "I'm Deacon. Part because of my Faith and part because my name is David." He explained as he moved on her arm to her shoulder. "You told your dad you head hurt?"
"Oh because you refer to yourselves as a number then David. Yeah that would be confusing." Easton admitted. "Yeah they weren't really nice about shoving me in and pulling me out of the trunk." She explained as she felt his hands in her hair checking for bumps.
"Well you have a nice goose egg on the back of your head. No blood." She could hear a hint of humour in the last part before he said. "Any loss of vision we need to worry about?" He joked.
The female officer laughed along with Easton. "Nope none more then usual." She laughed.
"Let me know if you are seeing anything? Maybe that was the question I should have asked." She could tell Deacon was grinning.
She shivered slightly. "Do you have any water?" She asked hopeful.
"Sure thing. I don't think you need surgery, but we will get the paramedics to check you over again when they get here. Water can't hurt though." Deacon told her.
She heard Chris moving and then the place she was sitting on moved as Chris got into the vehicle. It wasn't long before she came back and cracked the lid on the water bottle before handing it to her. She also felt a blanket being wrapped around her. She jumped a little. "Sorry." Deacon told her, helping Chris. "Doesn't feel like it, but you are probably in shock and when it goes away, keeping you warm will help." Deacon explained.
Easton nodded. "Have you heard about Sara?" She asked as she heard sirens approaching. "I asked Luca before."
"Luca anything on Sara?" Deacon asked over his radio.
"She fine. She is here at HQ." She heard him over the radio.
Deacon was about to relay the message. "I got it." She told him, she felt tears falling. She wiped them on the blanket. "Can I go to where she is?"
Deacon was rubbing her back. "I think we can arrange that. Aslong as the Paramedics clear you."
She nodded and finished the rest of the water. "Thank You." She said as someone took the empty bottle from her. The sirens stopped a few feet from them.
"Hey Stephen." Chris greeted. "Meet Easton."
Easton heard her moving out of the way and Deacons' hand wasn't on her back anymore. The smell of rubber gloves assaulted her first before a hand touched her shoulder. She flinched a little out of surprised. "Sorry." She muttered. "You surprised me." She mentioned.
"Sorry should have warned you." Deacon mentioned the paramedics. "She's blind."
"Good to know. Does your eyes react to light at all?" One of them asked.
"Nope." She told him. It wasn't long before they were finished and came to the same conclusion that Deacon had. They gave her an ice pack and suggested someone stay with her incase of a concussion. "Thanks."
The paramedics walked off as three others approached. She recognized Hondos voice when he spoke. "We are good to leave if you three are." Hondo told them, jumping into the back of the vehicle. "Tan careful with the driving." He told him, chuckling.
"Alright Easton." Deacon said, helping her to stand up. "It's one large step and two small ones and keep your head down. Don't want to add to the bump already. If you reach your left hand up Chris will help you."
Easton took Chris' hand as well and lifted her foot up to the first step. It was a little trickier as it was empty space until the top of her shoe hit the bottom of the bumper. The other two were easier her toe dragged up the height of the step until she was able to step on the next one. Chris was holding on to her hand and her other hand under her elbow. She was directed to a bench seat and someone put a harness seat belt on her and tightened the straps. "Don't normally have people so small in here." Deacon told her, as he adjusted the straps a few more times. "Ready?" He asked. She nodded as as placed the ice pack on her head and held on to the shoulder strap of her seatbelt as they drove off.
"Did you kill them?" She asked as they drove back in silence. She felt them all looking at her. "Sorry the one you shot did he die?" She went on to explain in a rush. "I know his voice. I just can't remember from where. I was hoping my Dad would recognize him if he is allowed to see him?"
"He's alive and heading to hospital. He was hit in the shoulder so he will live." Deacon explain to her. "Are you sure you are not just thinking you recognize his voice? A lot of people can sound the same." He told her gently.
"To normal people yes. To me? No. Also he knew things about me. He had to have known me somehow or where." She told him. They made a left turn and she was caught off guard and was sliding. She gasped in surprise and a hand shot out and kept her in place.
"Sorry Tans' driving is awful." A new voice explained, she could hear him teasing his team mate.
She grinned at his comment. "Thanks."
The large vehicle stopped moving. "Ready to get out of this?" The man beside her asked. She nodded and she felt him reach across her and unclipped the seat belt. "Slide over to the last seat." He told her. She felt her way across the bench seats. Until they reached the end. He grabbed her foot and placed it. "Here is the end of the truck. Gotta keep your head low but it's two small steps then one big step to the ground." He reminded her. She nodded and let him take her hand. "Okay your head is clear." He told her, as she got down the first step. She let go of his hand and held on to his arm for better support as she dropped down the last step on to pavement.
"Thank You. I don't think I caught your name?" She asked, as they walked across what she assumed was a parking lot.
"Street." He told her. She raised her eyebrows at the name and before she could ask a follow up question. He chuckled. "Yeah I know." He told her, directing her.
"EAST!"
She stopped when she heard her name. It was - "Sara?" She asked, trying to figure out where she was. Before she could figure anything out someone had her in a bear hug. "Sara." She hugged her back as she cried. "Are you okay?"
She felt her laughing. "I am suppose to ask you that." Sara laughed, still keeping her arms around her. East reached around and grabbed Sara arm with the cast. She ran her hand on it, it was a rough texture. "I'm fine. Doesn't hurt." Sara reassured, as someone taller and bigger wrapped his arms around both of them and Easton was in the middle. Sara laughed at her husband.
"Hi Henri." Easton greeted the second pair of arms. She knew he was also the one to reach around and use the sleeve of his sweater to wipe her tears. "Is my Dad still here?" She whispered. She was surprised when they let her go.
"Ten steps straight ahead." Sara rubbed her arm before letting go.
She looked over at Sara a moment before walking ten steps and was surprised her dad reached out and took her forearm. She was shocked when he hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him in return and rested her head on his chest. "Sorry." He whispered. "Are you sure you are okay?" He asked her. "I never imagined this would have happened to you. If I had I would have had more security for you."
She hugged her dad harder as she started crying. "I'm oka-y. You were in Europe this morning." She sobbed
She felt her Dad tense. "Did you really think that I wouldn't have come home after finding out you were kidnapped?" She heard the shock and hurt in his voice.
"Sorry." She whispered. "I didn't mean-" She stopped not knowing how to fix what she said. Instead she changed the direction for the conversation. "The one he shot. He knows me." She stated.
Easton was shocked when her dad pushed her away and held her by the upper arms. He was probably looking at her. "What?" He asked alarmed. "What do you mean? How did he know you?" He asked her. She was surprised he wasn't shaking her to get answers because that was the anger level she was feeling from him.
She shivered. She was never afraid of her Dad. She just never really spent time with him. He was always to busy for her. She shook her head. "I don't know. He sounded familiar and he knew things. He knew about my Assist an-and how blind I actually am." She answered, trying not to shake in fear. "I-I was hoping they will let you see him and you would recognize him?" She said hopeful, she used her shirt sleeve to wipe the tears off her face. She knew he hated when she cried, she heard him grumble about being a crybaby since she was eight.
She was surprised when a piece of material was pushed into her hands. It was her dads' handkerchief. "Thank You." She murmured. Wiping the tears off her face. "Can we go home?" She asked, trying to fill the awkward silence a little.
Her dad pulled her in to him and tucked her under his arm. "Lets go ask." He told her, directing her off to the left. "Did you need anything else from us?" He asked.
"East." Sara said, gently. Sara placed the ice pack back in her hand. "Paramedics mentioned you should keep this on." She told her.
"What else did the paramedic say?" Her Dad asked, concerned. He brought her hand up with the ice pack and placed it back on her head.
"That someone should stay with me. I might have a concussion." She answered. She turned her head to look over her dads' arm. She looked down, trying to concentrate on what she was hearing. She pushed away from her dad and turned around, her dad didn't let her go fully.
"What?" Sara and her Dad asked at the same time.
"I think I hear someone." She was moving her eyes in search of who she heard, like it would help her. "Luca?" She asked loudly, hoping she was correct.
Deacon laughed at her. "You really have good ears." He told her. "HEY LUCA!" He called across the parking lot. "Someone wants to say hi." He told him. She heard someone walking over to them. There were two sets of footprints walking towards them. "Luca meet Easton Earl." Deacon introduced them.
She held out her hand. She was surprised when massive arms were wrapped around her. He laughed. "Hey." Luca greeted happily. "You are truly amazing kid." He told her. Letting her go, but keeping a hand under her elbow.
"Fastest kidnapping we ever solved." The other man who walked up to her with Luca told them, chuckling.
"You were the other one on the phone." Easton prompted.
"Seriously good ears. I thought I was being quiet." Luca spoke in awe.
"Commander Hicks. Nice to meet you in person." He greeted. "We would like to talk with Mr. Earl, before letting you go home. If you are okay with that?" His voice sounded higher as he was talking to her dad. Not talking down to her.
"Of course." Her Dad answered. "Do you need Henri and Sara? Can Henri take Sara home?"
"I am okay sir. I can stay with East." Sara told him, surprised.
"They can go home if they would like." Hicks told them.
"Henri take your wife home." Her dad told her bodyguard. She heard Sara beginning to protest. "Sara. I got her. You look like you could use a nap or a drink." He told her. "She will join you soon enough but for now she stays here. Take the break. I know she is not the easiest person to deal with." He teased.
Henri laughed. "Sorry Sara you are not winning this one." He told her.
Sara touched her elbow. "You okay with this?" She asked, Easton would have been surprised if anyone else could have heard anything.
"Go. I am sure your arm hurts by now." East told her, remembering the ice pack in her hand and placed it back on her head. Sara hugged Easton and said goodbye.

"Luca. Deacon can you stay with Easton?" Commander Hicks asked, as they walked through the SWAT building. Darwin Earl had his hand under Eastons' forearm leading her through the building. "I would like a word with Mr. Earl."
"Sure thing." Luca agreed, happily. He approached Easton and her Dad placed her hand on Lucas' forearm. "This way." Luca told her, walking slowly forward. He pulled a chair out. "Here take a seat." He told her, placing her hand on the back of the chair.
"Thanks." She sat down and placed the ice pack on the table. This room was fairly quiet. It sounded like a kitchen area. The hum of two fridges and the gurgling of a coffee machine.
"Want another water?" Deacon from her left.
"Yes please." She answered, trying to see if she could hear her Dad and the Commander. So far the humming of the machines and the noises out in the hallway were making it difficult to hear anything. She heard one of them crack open the bottle and set it in front of her. "Thank you." She told them. "What are they talking to my Dad about?"
"Not sure." Luca admitted, as a chair scraped against the floor and he sat down. "Can I ask you a question?" He asked.
She shrugged. "Sure." Not sure what she could tell him about what happened.
"How long have you been blind?" Luca asked.
She could tell he was nervous about asking the question and she grinned. "Don't worry about it. Everyone asks." She reassured him. "I was born blind." She answered. "It's hereditary. My mom started going blind a few years before I was born." Thinking about her mom made her sad. "She killed herself when I was four." She whispered, she never talked about it. Even when someone brought it up. She wiped at the tears that were forming again. "Sorry."
"Don't be. I am sorry to hear about your mom." Luca placed his hand over hers. "I am sure you miss her alot."
Easton shrugged. "I don't have any memories that are good." She admitted. "The only day I remember is the day she died. Downside of having excellent hearing." She was silently sobbing at this point. She didn't know why she was telling them this. She never talked about it with anyone, including Sara.
"Sorry." Luca told her as he hugged her and rubbed her back as she cried. "Didn't mean to bring this up, especially after the day you had."
"I'm sorry. I don't normally talk about her." She confessed, hugging him back.
Easton used her shirt to wipe the tears off her face as she heard someone approaching. She turned as the door opened. "Can we go home?" She asked, as two people stepped inside.
"How did you know it was your dad?" Luca asked, impressed.
She looked down at the floor. "Shoes." She admitted. "His left foot squeaks."
"It does?" Her dad asked surprised, she would place a bet that he was looking down at his feet.
She grinned. "It does. It's quiet but I can still pick it up."
"Scary." Her Dad spoke, he was closer now. He placed his hand on her forearm. "They are letting us go home. What do you say?"
"Yes please." She allowed her Dad to direct her out of the room. "Thank You all for helping me today." She told whoever was left in the room.
"Don't worry about it." Deacon answered. "Glad you are going home. Take care of yourself kid."
"I'll try." She smirked, following her Dad, with her hand on his arm.
