Label Maker Mischief
Blowhole lifts the papers on his desk with a squint before putting them back and rummaging through the drawers. "Where in Neptune's name…" He grumbles before turning. "RED ONE!"
The lobster skitters in. "Yeah, boss?"
"Where is my label maker?"
"I think I saw Kowalski pass by with it."
The dolphin groans and rubs his flippers over his face. "Not again…" He then shakes his head and hops onto his Segway with a sigh. "And he went which way?"
"Towards the kitchen."
"Thanks." The dolphin nods to him as he rolls out, looking for the small penguin. The last time he got a hold of the label maker, his entire lab was covered in small silly labels.
He turns the corner and rolls into the kitchen. "Kowalski, I need the-" He blinks at the scene before him. Every cabinet, every chair, table, and even cabinet contents from what he could see had a fresh little label. "Kowaaaalskiiiii."
Kowalski turns around with a sheepish smile, hiding the label maker behind his back. "Oh uh...Hi. I uh...I got a little carried away."
The dolphin holds out his flipper with a look. "What did you initially plan to do?"
"...Just the spice cabinet, the labels were falling off, but...Heh...Label makers are fun?" He tries an innocent smile as he hands it over.
Blowhole sighs deeply and pats his head. "Try to keep it off the furniture next time, alright?"
"Oh come on, you don't want to make a few yourself? You'll feel better."
"I do intend to make some labels, Kowalski, but not in the kitchen." He turns from him. "I have files needing them instead."
Kowalski considers this before starting to waddle after him. "Okay, wait, what if you tell me what to put on the label, and I make them?"
Blowhole glanced down at him. "Will you stay focused and not start labeling my desk."
"Yes." He scowls. "I can stay on task very well." He motions back towards the kitchen. "Exhibit A, I was in the labeling zone."
"Fine. You can make the labels for me if it'll keep you occupied."
"Speaking of occupied," the penguin hops onto the back of the Segway and looks up at him. "How much longer until we are hitting the karaoke bar again?"
"After I finish labeling these files for Red One to sort and put away, I'll get ready and we can go out. I didn't realize I had gotten as behind as I was."
Kowalski nods and leans back against him. "That's fine with me. I had to play catch up on mission reports for North Wind yesterday myself."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. Skipper got me his note segments late for me to transcribe. He does his reports in Penguinese and I have to convert them to English since the North Wind supposedly stopped accepting reports in anything but English." He rolls his eyes.
"How inclusive."
"Tell me about it. I swear he goes out of his way to make things harder for us."
Blowhole frowns slightly and nods as he rolls into his office area. "My offer for revenge remains on the table you know."
"And it's a nice offer, appreciated even, but no, it's alright, Francis." He smiles slightly. "He will always underestimate us, giving us the upperflipper to outstage him at every turn as it is."
"Fair enough."
Kowalski hops down from the Segway and stands by him as he gets out his stack of files. The dolphin then passes him the label maker.
"Alright, you ready?"
He preps the maker with a grin. "Bring them on."
