It was 2015, 25 year old Eugene Hamilton was sitting at his mansion, looking outside at the cloudy rainy weather happening in West Porkbelly, Massachusetts. The plump man, wearing pajama's and his robe, sulked at his latest failed attempt to win over the heart of Susan Test. A box of glazed donuts lay before him, that with every intention, he planned to finish himself, while sipping his coffee. He walked over to the couch in his projector room, about to put on a Speed McCool movie to pass the time, when he heard a knock at the door.
"Ugh, who the hell is it at this hour? I already gave the Dominos guy a good tip." he said. He walked on over to the door and answered it. To his shock a familiar young man with flaming hair, baggy cargo pants, black shirt and open button short sleeve shirt, about 26 years old, answered the door. Johnny Test stood in the doorway with an eyebrow raised.
Eugene backed up in fear of what he perceived as Johnny coming over to retaliate for pestering his sister.
"Look Johnathan, I'm done okay, you don't need to hurt me, I'll leaver her alone I swear!" Eugene groveled.
"Whoa. Dude chill. I'm not here to hurt you. I just wanted to talk for a minute. Can I come in?" Johnny asked.
"Talk? Um okay sure?" Eugene said as he stepped aside and let Johnny in. He guided Johnny over to a recliner cross from the couch. Johnny sat and naturally used the recline feature.
"If this not about Susan, then what's this about Johnathan?" Eugene asked.
"Well, I hate to tell you this about is about my sister. And I need to ask you some questions." Johnny said with a serious tone.
Eugene's expression tensed up, mentally preparing himself for the verbal beating.
"Why man? Why? What is it about her that your so attracted to? You keep coming back to ask her out, even though you know the answer is going to be no. Whatever it is, your gonna have to move on at some point man, really. Because I'm sure she will put a restraining order on you at some point soon if you keep coming back to the house. Shes going to get tired of this, and I currently never hear the end of it, living under the same roof as her. Susan is getting uncomfortable with this, very uncomfortable. And I really don't want to see you in trouble over this, because this can get ugly. I know at heart you're a good guy, and you mean well, but just answer me why." Johnny said.
Eugene took a deep breath.
"Johnny, I hope your ready for a story, its not about Susan, but will get to that once I get through it." Eugene said with a serious tone. The tone and the fact Eugene said Johnny instead of Johnathan took Johnny off guard.
In normal circumstances Johnny wouldn't have been patient enough to hear his story, but he was willing to listen this time, especially given the tone Eugene gave him.
"Okay I'm listening." Johnny said.
"Okay, let me show you something first."
Eugene walked over to a desk with computer at the back of his living room, he went into a drawer and pulled out a couple of photos and walked back over the recliner Johnny was sitting in. He handed him the photos.
Johnny looked at the first one showing a young man in his late teens with glasses, alongside a young woman, about the same age with red hair that had braided pigtails, glasses and familiar facial features.
"Who is that guy and is that my sister?...I mean she looks just like Susan." Johnny said not sure what to make of this.
"Her name was Jennifer, and that guy, is me 7 years ago, June 2008, I was 18, she was 19." Eugene said shocking Johnny.
"You looked, uh, fitter and healthier I'll say. No gold, no white suit. Dressed up pretty casually with your gray long sleeve dress shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. I'd hardly even know this was you. But what's up with the glasses, I didn't know you wore glasses." Johnny said.
"It was a different time, I was a different man. I didn't really need them per se, but I liked how they looked on me and these were not your ordinary glasses. These were one of my first inventions, a set of AI-powered augmented reality glasses, before any tech like it went mainstream. I could get data on anything just by looking at it, and it had sensors for my environment to let me know of any incoming danger. But enough about that, its her I want to talk about. " Eugene said.
"I was new on campus at Porkbelly Tech back in '08, this was way before you and your sisters moved here and attended, I was younger and motivated. I was walking to class, when I bumped into her.." Eugene went on to tell the story as Johnny closely listened.
