Episode 01: Válka
In the glorious realm of Valhalla...
As a crowd roars over the graceful battlefield, two Legends are battling to earn the title of the winner. On one side, there is a muscular young man, clad in silver armor. He sports short golden hair, and eyes as blue as the sky. His body and face are covered in multiple scars, many of which may be self-inflicted. He is The Vengeful Warrior, Válka.
On the other side is a young woman with fair skin, pink eyes, and orange hair. She is clad in a green hood and armed with a golden bow and a quiver of arrows. The young lady is known as The Fangwild's Daughter, Ember.
They both charge at each other. Válka's grungy, dried bloodstained sword clashing against Ember's golden bow. In order to escape this struggle, Ember jumps away before delivering a hard punch straight to Válka's jaw.
"Ugh..." Valka says, coughing out blood. "That hurt..."
"I'm truly sorry." Ember says apologizing. "It was supposed to knock you out painlessly."
Válka chuckles and reassures her. "Don't apologize. This is a battle, and there's no holding back during a battle." His voice then takes a sinister turn, as he stares into her soul with wide open eyes. "That being said, it did bother me."
Ember is unsettled by this change of behavior. Before she can comprehend, Válka rushes at her and proceeds to start slicing and cutting away at her body. The blood spilling out of every cut that Válka makes in her skin causes the crowd to roar at this bloody event. Ember falls onto one knee, pained.
"Now I just feel bad." Válka says, actually geniunely somber. "I'll just put you out of your misery."
As Válka raises his sword, Ember shoots and arrow into one of his eye sockets. Válka screams out in pain while the crowd cheers.
Válka prys out the arrow as blood pours out of his socket. "And now my sympathy is spent." He says angrilly.
Both Válka and Ember drop their weapons, as two swords of light fall from the heavens. Upon picking them up, they turn into a blood covered scythe for Válka, and a pair of Katars for Ember. As Válka swings his scythe overhead, Ember manages to evade his attacks and then slicing him with her katars. However, as Ember lunged at him for an attack, he was able to stick his scythe deep into her leg.
"Agh!" Ember cries out in pain.
"Normally, I would end the fight here." Válka says sadistically. "But since you pissed me off, I'm gonna have some fun."
He smiles maliciously as he lifts his scythe. Desperately thinking, Ember throws one of her katars into Válka's other eye socket, blinding him completely.
"Damn it!" Válka says pained and outraged.
"I'll end it here." Ember says reluctantly. "Please don't take this personally."
Ember dashes towards the blinded Válka and sticks her other katar through the warrior's heart. His body falls to the ground dead, as his own blood begins to make a pool around him. The crowd cheers out loud.
The announcer screams out. "We have a winner!" Ember is then transported to a podium, surrounded by gold as a light shines down on her as if she was an angel from the heavens. All of her wounds seemed to have miraculously healed. "The Victor Is... EMBER!" The announcer yells, causing the crowd to roar.
Ember is then transported again to the lobby, where she meets up with her fellow Legends upon winning. Válka is there too, with his wounds also healed. Ember is approached by her fellow Legends, The Monster Hunter, Diana and The Lady Necessity, Scarlet.
"Nice win, there." Scarlet applauds. "I didn't know you could be that brutal."
Ember responds sheepishly. "It wasn't out of any spite. I was just doing what I was meant to do."
"Don't be so modest" Diana says eagerly. "Enjoy your victory. You deserved it."
Ember then turns to Válka, who is seething with rage. "It was a good fight." She says holding her hand out.
"Hmph!" Válka smacks it away. "It was, but next time try being less friendly. It really pisses me off." He walks away in a huff.
"Well that was rude." Scarlet says sternly. "He could at least try to be a little nice."
From the back of the lobby, a mysterious figure clad in golden armor was watching the whole ordeal silently. While he's walking down the halls, Válka suddenly starts having flashbacks, from his youth, when he was still alive.
Before Válka entered Valhalla...
In his youth, Vražedná Válka was quite a handsome man. He did well for himself, and others never looked down on him. His most redeeming quality was his swordsmanship, being deadly in combat with a sword as his weapon. For quite a number of years, he had worked as an assassin for hire, and was quite good at his job. He had recently fallen in love with a young woman named Krása, and they have vowed to get married soon. Never knowing that the dream will never come true.
Válka and Krása are sitting together peacefully on their small shack near a beach.
"Krása..." Válka speaks out. "Today is the day."
Krása's eyes widen. "Do you mean..."
Válka nods. "Yes. I mean it. We're getting married today."
The hug each other and in this moment, everything seems to stand still.
"It's been too long since we've hugged like this." Krása says.
"It has." Válka agrees.
Sadly, their moment is interrupted when a bunch of demonic looking men break into their house, taking them both captive.
"W-what's going on?!" Krása asks fearfully.
Válka responds, with just as much anger in his voice. "I don't know!"
As the men hold them in place another man comes in. The Dealmaker, Cross.
"Well, well, well." Cross says smugly. "Vražedná Válka."
"Joseph Cross." Válka says in retaliation. "How dare you attack me in my own house?"
Cross shuts him up. "How dare I? Don't you remember the time where you wiped out an entire area of my men?"
Válka and Cross stare at each other with burning hatred.
"It's time I repay the favor." Cross says, as his arm turns into a demonic form as he beats Válka senseless.
Krása can only scream in horror before she's silenced by Cross's men. Válka has punched, slashed, and all sorts of things that left him bloodied on the floor. He's not quite dead yet though.
"Damn. That was fun." Cross says. "But you took so much from me. It's time I take something from you."
Válka's eyes widened. "What?!"
As Cross leaves, he waves a signal to his men. Although he's alive, Válka is way too weak to actually stand. He can only watch as Cross's men take Krása and snap her neck before their depature.
"Krása!" Válka screams out at her death.
After she dies, Cross's men leave the scene, leaving Válka alone to cradle his dead girlfriend's body in tears. They were going to get married today. It was then when Válka was filled with pure, burning rage. Many years later, Válka walks alone, wearing a stolen suit of silver armor, weilding his sword. Sadly, due to the insanity of losing his future wife, alone with his self isolation, many people would describe the current Válka as unstable as he seems to take pleasure in making people suffer.
Rather than killing for money, he seems to do it for fun, murdering anybody who annoys him. If he were to come across one of Cross's henchmen, he would torture them to death. Upon learning of Cross's death, he made it his mission to wipe out his last remaining henchmen, gaining many scars because of this mission. He tried once again to face multiple of them in battle, but due to his wounds, he died fighting and alone.
He rose up from the dead, when the Valkyrie known as Brynn transported him to Valhalla, where resides even today.
Upon the flashback ending, Válka looks ahead of himself to see The Valkyrie, Brynn standing in front of him, with a stern look on her face.
"What do you want?" Válka speaks out.
Brynn walks up to him. "I know you're a formidable fighter, Válka." Brynn says. "I've seen you rip a man in half simply for breathing too loudly. You ripped a woman's organs out just for smelling bad! With all of these incredible feats, there's no way you've lost to Ember. You held back."
Válka answers shamelessly. "There was no need to go all out. After all, if she hadn't blinded me I've won."
"Just remember this..." Brynn whispers. "When we clash once more, I will not hold back. So neither should you."
Brynn says this and then walks away from Válka. Válka now stands alone, as he looks at his bloodied sword in his left hand and grips in.
