I.
AS PRINCESS NEPTUNE AND PRINCESS URANUS, they were like peas to a pod. They spent the Silver Millenium watching over each other's planets and protecting both one another and one another's people from attacks by outside sources, and used their free time to hang at the top of Uranus's kingdom to watch the children of the planet play around and the elderly take strolls around and reminisce of their youth. Many a time did the two princesses count the many different things about Uranus's kingdom that differed from the kingdoms of Princess Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and whatnot.
When they'd hang around Princess Neptune's kingdom, they were surrounded by dozens of mirrors that Neptune to gaze at herself and the beauty of her people and planets, a favorite hobby and duty of hers. What Neptune loved best about the mirrors of her homeland was that whenever she played her beloved violin for her significant other, the reflections would show Princess Uranus elated and immersed, the blonde paying attention to every single movement of the bow and effort by Princess Neptune to be professional and graceful.
Even when separated and hanging out with either their fellow outer princesses or the far away but still on great terms inner system princesses, the two could not help but think about each other's wellbeing, and dream of the moment they'd quickly reunite on either the land of Neptune or the land of Uranus. They spent decades intimate and connected, and they spent their whole lives in the Millenium as the royal couple of air and the ocean.
II.
Sailor Neptune laid still on the floor, blood dripping from her lips and her eyes shut, no sign of breathing anywhere from her. The latest enemy was brutal during the teal-eyed senshi's attempt to put it to rest, and the other senshi were still fighting him off.
Sailor Uranus punched at the floor and scowled. There was no way that it could end like this. Michiru Kaiou was flexible and elegant like the oceanic fluids she possessed, and as observant and catching as her mirror. For Michiru to be this close to death is unacceptable. She is a fighter, and in no way was Michiru ever a quitter.
If Michiru was gone, Haruka would be missing her other half. They were like peas in a pod and thrived based on their ability to lift each other up. Kaiou's body was as owned by the girl herself as it was guarded by Tendou, and for the mirror-wielder to be on the verge of succumbing meant that her sword-wielding companion failed as both a protector and lover.
"Come on, Michiru...shit…. "
Reaching down, the blonde kissed at the bloody lips of Sailor Neptune, and held at her soft fingers. She then leaned deeply at the chest of the curly-haired girl and waited for a sign of even just one heartbeat.
It couldn't end like this. It couldn't end with Haruka alone and Michiru six feet under. All the times they spent eating after school and combining their attacks to get rid of the latest enemy played in Haruka's mind.
This was not the end—Haruka would not allow it to be. There had to be a way for Michiru to...to...
"...Haruka?"
Haruka immediately lifted her head. "Michiru!"
Michiru stared back at her, and somehow, the blood that was dripping from her lips slowly disappeared. It was if the kiss had resurrected her from her immobility.
"I'm here, Michiru, I'm here!" Haruka shouted as she gripped the other teenager and hugged her deeply.
She would not let her other half fall in despair.
