Bucky was feeling pretty good until he and Clint walked into the kitchen and everyone there – Steve, Tony and Pepper – fell silent.
Bucky briefly considered turning around and walking out. He was saved from that by Clint's blunt, "What?"
"The Russians are reporting that the Winter Soldier assassinated their Prime Minister," Steve snapped, clearly incensed.
Stunned, Bucky stared at him. At last, he said, "I don't do that anymore."
"We know that. There's no question of that," Pepper said reassuringly. "This just happened last night. The problem is we can't prove you didn't do it without admitting that you're here."
