a/n: A super-duper late entry for SasuSaku Month 2021 ft. Office

Also posted on A03.

I do not own Naruto/Boruto.

Enjoy!

There is an incandescent glow dimming the elevator going up, up, up-

And in the bout, Sakura waits, staring miserably at the humming quartz. Her office, she deeply despises, sits at the very top. In this painstaking limbo, she has to stand at the very back, fighting inward laughs as her gaze meets the dead stares of strangers every day-

Until he enters. Eyes devoid of color lighten her languid routine. And, in her head, during a million purple-pink daydreams, their knuckles clink, pins and needles zipped through, triggering bumps of goose, cut-

Ting! The elevator says as it comes to a halt.

People of all sorts walkout. And Sasuke, ever the sly guy, takes a stealthy backward step 'til from his periphery he can peek. The incandescent glow basks over her cherry red lips. Then and there, her beauty, he has decided, is resentfully, breathtakingly - calling his name, begging, berating a year's worth of indecisive diddle daddling.

Now they're alone, he conjures a marionette at play. His fingers slip and twine her reach. She gasps, pauses, then turns to face his grace. Limp limbs at play, he holds her hips, careful not to break that vase. Their eyes twinkle yet asking, why?

As a jolt shoots up her spine, he bends, to her lips, down, down, doubt-

Our duo jumps three steps apart. Suddenly, the air feels hot. New people of sorts walk in along with a tall, blonde lad. Onyx glare burns at his blue, mercurial eyes sparkling, asking, "what was that about?"

Sour apple orbs look down, hiding her rosy cheeks. Meek and unable to speak, she digs her heels on Naruto's leather feet. He leaps, crying along with mischievous titters. Then, he occupies the space in between - them, faking nonchalance but deep inside, Sasuke swears, on this idiot's grave, he'll someday be spit-

More people of sorts file in. She can hear every breath, every hitch, an occasional fart (fuck you Naruto), and two hearts' rapid firing.

"Sooo Sa-ku-ra," teasing, with a touch of sneaking arm wrapping around her frigid shoulders, "tonight, whatcha doin'?"

A tsk, a pinch, she shrugs off her faux sibling, and with a ting! The elevator says as it comes to a halt.

Through the oblivious people of sorts, an angel wielding a purple night's mane spots the scene. With her lavender eyes wide, and open mind, she smiles apologetically, then hurriedly ushers her lover out. With no complaints, Naruto compiles but not without a knowing wink, as the door slides closed, rattle-tattling, then up, up, up it goes.

Alone again, in this morning rush, they stand, frozen, flustered with claustrophobic waiting itch-

"What are your plans for tonight?" Sasuke's voice bellows around the tight space vents. Slowly, the words start sinking. Overthinking, she trudges forward, no longer hesitating-

As instinct dictates, he reaches for her face, resting her cheek in his palm, drawing closer. The tension rises evermore, as he tucks stubborn locks behind her ear.

Her eyes flutter close, living for this granted daydream, and he follows suit, as this old fleeting thought during break time goes down-

In history, as their lips have finally kissed. Enamored synchronizing, whisper lost secrets in this iridescent moment under an incandescent glow, dimming this mundane of places.

The outside world is drowned by the rhythmic Eros and faces flushed with roses of tomorrow's promise. Indeed, nothing mattered more at this moment, not even the-

Ting! The elevator says as it comes to a halt.

And as the metal doors theatrically revealed a secret so poorly kept, clapping filled the air. They ignore the wolf-whistles, the dropped jaws, and the "fucking finally," Naruto proclaims with pride, as he presses all the buttons so that-
