Home Improvement - Life After Season Eight.
The last time we saw the Taylor Family, there were changes in the air, Tim, Al, and Heidi had quit Tool Time, due to disagreements with new producer Morgan Wandell, who was more interested in television ratings, and wanted accidents to be purposely caused, this didn't sit well with Tim, who was against the new format, all three of them quit, but agreed to film a farewell episode as they owed it to their fans, they did, and burned down the set, meanwhile, Jill was offered a Psychologist job in Indiana, which meant the family would have to move to Indiana, the reaction from the rest of the household was mixed, although Brad didn't really mind since he would be heading off to College in the fall, Tim was against it, stating that his family, and more importantly, his car mechanics, were in Detroit, at the same time Al decided to get married to Trudy, the Taylor family offered their backyard for their wedding, during the reception Morgan arrived at the Taylor home looking for Tim, who had been avoiding him since he decided to quit, he had told Jill that because the last show was a success, he had offered Tim a executive producer position, something that he had wanted for a long time, and that Tim had turned it down, she showed him the door, later that night Tim and Jill talked about what to do, he thought about actually moving the house to Indiana, literally moving the house with a truck and boat, with more power (Cue the grunt).
So here's what actually happened after that.
Tim was offered creative control, and an executive producer credit, for Tool Time, he accepted it, but on his own terms, which was given to him, along with a big raise for him, Al, Heidi, and the tv crew, however this didn't happen, as lawsuits involving Binford Tools, Wes Davidson, Bud Harper, Morgan Wandell, and the Estate of John Binford, sent Tool Time on temporary hiatus, leaving Tim, Al, and Heidi out of work until everything is taken care of, Tim and Al stayed busy working at Harry's Hardware Store, along with Tim's brothers, Marty, and Jeff, they were joined by two more Taylor brothers, Danny and Brian, but they mainly talk to Jeff and Marty, due to them not being a fan of Tim's shenanigans. While Heidi also worked in the hardware store part time, she primarily focused on her family.
While she didn't go to Indiana, Jill did become a psychologist in Detroit. She also writes for a magazine, and still does volunteer work at the local library.
The boys went off on their own journeys, Brad went off to college at USC, he played on the soccer team, and later went to the UK, and played soccer for the Birmingham Chubbs for a spell, before returning home, while he dated a few girls here and there, he eventually married his on and off girlfriend of a few years, Samantha Hayes.
Randy returned home from Costa Rica, and resumed his education, he graduated from high school, and he too went off to college, he married his long time girlfriend, Lauren, they travel the world, but always end up back in Detroit.
Mark graduated, and attended college for a time, his skills as a cameraman came in handy, he got a job directing at the tv station on a variety of local shows, including Tool Time. He became a respectable cinematographer, and independent film director, his friend, Ronnie still helps him out, and is still considered by the Taylors to be weird and scary.
Al and Trudy ended up having four kids, or as Tim calls them "The Flannel Four".
Wilson continued to live next door to the Taylor family until his death in 2003, his niece, Willow acquired the house and still lives there.
After several months, well almost a year and a half, all parties settled (although Morgan Wandell ended up spending several months in prison). And Tool Time returned with a bang, literally a bang, courtesy of Tim.
The End.
(Author's Note: What do you think? Let me know, l'm thinking about doing a follow up chapter on the other characters not mentioned here, maybe I'll do it once I get a few ideas, if y'all have any suggestions, let me know).
