The life-giving rays of sunlight glistened upon the Lord's table where a captivating young woman was in the mists of making flower arrangements. Indeed the young woman looked quite angelic herself. Long silky golden locks complement her fit tan body. She moved with the grace of a ballerina as she hummed a psalm. Her huge chocolate-brown eyes glanced upon the crucifix above her before bowing her head in prayer.
"Dear Lord Jesus, may you bless your children today. May you grant humanity more love and compassion. Please help the hungry and forsaken. This I pray."
"Pastoress Stone, are you alright?" inquired a gentleman's voice behind here. Turning around, she smiled tenderly, "Good afternoon, Angelo. How was choir practice this afternoon?"
"Everything is coming along quite well. I'm fascinated with the fact your son Gabriel composed original hymns for us to sing."
"My son is quite a talented young man, Angelo. Music is one of his numerous abilities."
"Very gifted, indeed, Desdemona. Is there anything you require assistance in?"
"Could you see what's keeping Clarissa? She's normally the one who handles the flowers in our house of prayer. She's the most qualified horticulturist we've ever had."
"Oh, I'm sorry about that, I forgot to tell you. Clarissa left a message this morning. Her cousin is having serious surgery tomorrow. Therefore she is going to babysit the kids while she's in the hospital."
"Oh, well, that's incredible of the essence. I'll make sure to add her cousin to this Sunday's prayers. I'll finish up here. Then I've to go pick up my son. He's staying late at the school library to tutor a classmate."
"If you require help, I'll gladly assist you in helping with the last of the perennials. Therefore you won't be late picking up your son."
"Thank you, Angelo. I greatly appreciate it." Twenty minutes later, Desdemona left to pick up her son from the private educational institution he attended, Penbrook Academy.
It remained a highly sought-after educational institution with some of the most beneficial educational opportunities due to several charitable donations from various inhabitants around New York City. The educational institution was able to offer several scholarships to lower-income families.
The three most influential benefactors to Penbrook were Xanatos Enterprise, Cyberbiotics, and Nightstone Unlimited. In addition, the children of each business organization's employees were all enrolled within the scholarship program.
However, the scholarships went to other children who weren't employees' children as well. However, numerous students of the prestigious institution that went K-12 were children of those three corporations. As you expected from a private establishment, everyone was required to wear sky blue blazers, white dress shirts, imperial red ties, skirts, pants, and dress shoes.
Her good-looking teenage son Gabriel stood waiting by the campus parking lot for his mother. Gabriel resembled his father, Othello, except with his mother's hair and eye color. While she was naturally tan, her son and husband were as pale as they came. People often joked about how much her husband and son needed to go to a tanning salon.
"Good afternoon, Mom," he greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. She hugged and kissed him back before heading back to their apartment.
"How was school today? Plus, how is it going tutoring, Angela David, I think?" she asked curiously.
"Yes, her name is Angela David. Unfortunately, she fell a little behind after being out with bronchitis for over a week. She's a nice girl, but before you ask, Mom. I'm not romantically interested in her. She's strictly a friend," he stated quickly, to which his mother smiled amusingly.
"I already know you've got a crush on that archery girl Ophelia. Didn't you tell me that she's a star archer plus quite a gifted thespian?" recalling the girl her son did like.
"Yes, she's captain of the archery team moreover president of the drama club. But, look, I don't feel like talking about it right now."
"Understood, son. I do hope your father isn't pulling another all-nighter at work. I mean, I understand he's one of the leading specialists in cybernetics. Even so, I wish Mr. Renard wouldn't push him as hard as he is."
"Well, they do have a deadline fast approaching. The Department of Defense is wanting those brand-new military drones commission filled as soon as possible."
"All the same? He needs time to breathe and unwind. I needed you to start the laundry and vacuum when we get home. After that, I need to make a few phone calls and make dinner."
"Not a problem, Mom."
They quickly returned to their spacious apartment, where mother and son instantly got down to business. Even a family of three had tons of laundry to do. Desdemona quickly called Clarissa to ensure everything was alright with her and her cousin, which she confirmed. Then she called to rearrange some private meetings with several church members.
After all the work with the place of worship had been completed, she called her husband up. He picked up after the first ring. "Hello, Beloved. How are you doing?" he asked.
"Othello, I'm doing alright. I've got a few minor issues at the church I've to take care of—nothing for you to be concerned about. I"m more anxious you'll not be home all night. Consequently, should I even make you dinner? Or are you going to stay at the office tonight?"
"The project should be done in two hours. Hence I should be able to make it home in time for dinner. As long as there, not a serious traffic jam."
"Okay, please call if there is one. I love you, beloved."
"As I love you, beloved. See you in a few hours." After hanging up, Desdemona went straight to work making a feast for dinner. Her husband did come home in time for dinner. The family said their blessings and then happily enjoyed their meal together. All in all? A lovely evening.
