Her heels clattered against the marble floor as she hurried along the corridors, interview, interview, interview. Her mind thundered as she read the metal labels plastered onto each door. Interview Room Seven! She turned and twisted the door's handle, leading herself into a small, dark room with large shadows stretching across the floor.

This wasn't what she expected.

Not at all.

"Avri, Avri, Avri.." a deep voice sounded, although the voice sounded broken, wavering and glitching as if it wasn't a real voice at all. It sounded unnaturally contorted, and the Head Gamemaker struggled to remain calm. "You must know by now that your games have become... rather... boring."

"Ten games. Each one is the same; no different to the predecessors, and with no twists. Now, I'm sure you understand that ten games are quite an achievement. Some may even say a record..." she recognised the voice now - President Landon - and the recognition did nothing but worry her, "but, as you know, all good things come to a-"

A red haze filled her vision, and she screamed as pain poured through her body, working its way from her ankle. She blinked through the red and was horrified to see none other than a red and white snake, her own, marvellously horrid creation slithering away from her.

Then darkness.

"-n end. After all," the snake twirled up the arm of the masculine figure who stepped out from behind the door "it's survival of the fittest."
