So, I recently just finished watching The Legend of Korra. I have to say; I enjoyed it.

I don´t know why this story idea popped into my head, but maybe I just like seeing ¨puppy-dog romances¨ turn into something more profound.

Okay, here´s the story.

...

It was hard to believe how much time had passed since they met. What started as a simple childhood romance had developed into a beautiful companionship that words could not describe.

Now, 25 years old, Kai would offer her a chance to take another big step forward in their lives together.

Tenzin and Pema had given their blessings, so all there was to do now was ask Jinora the question.

At first, he would go the traditional route, kneel in front of her with a ring and ask the question in a beautiful place where nobody could see them. But it turned out that Ikki had a better idea.

All it took was a little flying and cloud bending.

"So, where are we going again?"

"You'll see."

Jinora chuckled, "I can't see anything right now, Kai. Remind me again, why am I blindfolded?"

"Because I don't want to spoil the surprise."

"I guess that makes sense."

"Almost there. Lefty, yip yip!"

At that, the sky bison gracefully dipped and landed on the ground below.

"We're here."

"So, can I take my blindfold off now?"

Kai chuckled as he helped her get down, "Not yet, Jin. Come on."

He took her by the hand and led her further into the clearing, keeping an eye on the sky.

He stopped for a moment and smiled, a rush of excitement washing through him.

This is it, he thought; it's time.

He turned around and knelt to the ground, pulling out a little black box.

"Okay, take off the blindfold and look at the sky."

Jinora quickly untied the blindfold and looked up, her eyes becoming as wide as saucers when she saw the cloud message written in the sky:

Jinora, will you marry me?

Kai beamed and opened the box, revealing the ring inside.

"So, what do you say, Jinora?"

She stood still for a moment, her eyes sparkling with exhilaration, her hands clasped around her mouth.

After a few seconds, she uncovered her mouth, which was spread across her face in a wide grin, and gave her answer.

"Yes!"

She held out her hand, and Kai slid the ring neatly onto her finger. As he stood up, she flung her arms around him, taking him by such surprise that he stumbled back, and they both tumbled to the ground in a clumsy embrace.

"You okay?"

He chuckled, "Better than okay."

She giggled and planted a soft kiss against his lips.

He kissed back, gently pulling her closer to him.

This was the best day of his life so far, and he reckoned that she felt the same way.

...

No flames, please. Also, I don own The Legend of Korra.
