Sprig laid part of his body onto the bed, slightly sinking into the mattress.

He wanted to relax for a while, maybe a few days if it was possible. It was a night that he wanted to lay down, cover himself with a comfortable blanket, and be right next to his grandpa. The idea of doing that and waking up in the morning to see him right next to him sounded like an amazing one. Sprig laid back, letting almost the entirety of his body be engulfed by the safety and comfort of a bed, even if it was one of another world.

Hop Pop soon joined him on the bed with a book in hand. When he got in, Sprig felt the bed around him sink as low as the area he was on did. Sprig crawled to Hop Pop's side before submerging himself into the thick blanket that laid above him. He wrapped his arms around one of the older frog's arms. A yawn escaped his lips as he laid his head onto Hop Pop's shoulder. Hopediah chuckled and kissed Sprig's forehead. He closed the book and rested it on the nightstand beside the one of two lamps that were turned on.

"Tired?"

"After today?" Sprig responded. "Yeah, sleep doesn't sound too bad right now."

"You know, we don't have to go to sleep yet." Hop Pop informed, motioning towards the opposite side of the room.

Sprig glared at the other side that was covered in darkness due to the lamp lights being unable to reach over there. Above the bed that Polly slept in, Sprig examined the clock that hung there on the wall. It took him a moment to read what time it was, but when he did his eyes went wide. He looked at Hop Pop with eyes that sparkled like the night sky.

"Wait, we're-"

"Yep, we can stay up as long as you want to," Hop Pop replied, "and I won't wake you up in the morning, either. You can sleep as much as you want to, honey."

Sprig gasped. "I think I just fell in love with you so much more." He whispered.

Hop Pop could only softly laugh at that; he couldn't help it, Sprig was being too adorable. He put his hand above Sprig's head. The younger frog took his hat off, putting it on the nightstand closest to him. After he did that, Hop Pop placed his hand on Sprig's head and gently ruffled his hair. He glanced up at the door for a moment before kissing his lips.

Hop Pop put his forehead up against Sprig's. Sprig kissed him once again.

"So how have you and Ivy been?" He started.

"Oh we've been great!" He exclaimed before he frowned and looked away, sadly sighing. "...I wonder how she's doing right now. She must be really worried."

Hop Pop wrapped his arms around him. "Hey, I'm sure she's alright. If we know anything about the Sundews, they can handle themselves. Besides, we couldn't be away for too long, right?"

"Yeah, you're right. Hopefully we won't." Sprig gave a hopeful smile.

Hop Pop cupped Sprig's face, causing the tip of his tongue to slip out of his mouth. He caressed one of his cheeks with his thumb. He couldn't help but have his grin spread across his face, feeling his heart flutter just looking at him. The older frog happily sighed.

"What?" Sprig spoke, noticing how he sighed.

"Nothin', I just love you so much, sweetheart." Hop Pop answered. "I could just eat you up, you're that adorable."

"Aww, am I really that- Hey!"

Hop Pop picked him up slightly off the bed and pressed his lips up against Sprig's body, blowing raspberries into him. The feel of it tickled Sprig and it immediately caused him to try and cover the areas his grandpa got. He laughed and tried pushing him away to escape. In the middle of his laughter, he kept telling him to stop until he couldn't get a word out anymore from him laughing. He snorted as he laughed; Hop Pop covered Sprig's mouth so he didn't get too loud and wake somebody up.

Sprig managed to get his face away from his body, but when he thought he won, Hop Pop went to a different part of his body and kept going. Sprig tried to get him away from his stomach but every attempt was futile. His laughter only died down after Hop Pop stopped and he removed his hand from Sprig's mouth. Sprig looked at him, who lovingly stared at him. He went in for a kiss, but he was stopped by Hop Pop's finger before he grabbed the younger frog's hands. He pressed his forehead up against his.

"Remember what Anne told us, Sprig," he whispered, "we can't do this as much anymore until we're back home or completely alone."

Sprig crossed his arms. "I know, I know," he groaned. "It's so dumb."

"With how we grew up, yes it is, but…" Hop Pop sighed. "You know about what happened to Anne, right?"

He nodded.

"Since her world isn't like ours, I don't want them thinking that I'm doing that to you."

"But you're not!" He nearly yelled.

He hushed. "I know, but they wouldn't think the same."

Sprig huffed, turned around, and looked at the door. Hop Pop grabbed him and pulled him closer. He grabbed his hand and his fingers intertwined with his. Sprig looked down at both of their hands together.

"I can still hold your hand, though, hun."

It wasn't kisses, but it would have to do for now. Sprig put his other hand onto his arm as he closed his eyes. He had his body up against Hop Pop's. The older, orange frog laid his head onto his grandson's hair. He threw the blanket over their bodies, having its thick warmth cover them.

"I know it sucks, but we'll get through it together. I promise."

He waited for an answer from his young lover, but he didn't get a response after a moment. At first, he figured he didn't have anything to add to what he said. If that was the case then he wouldn't blame him. It was then that he nearly jumped from Sprig's sudden croaks. That immediately let him know that he fell asleep. He turned off the lamp closest to them. The other lamp stayed on due to the fact he couldn't reach it and he didn't want to wake Sprig up, so the amber glow from the lamp behind them remained.

He listened to his croaking and breathing until he eventually fell asleep.
