Prologue

She stood a few feet away from the crowd that had gathered around, on the opposite side of the black lake in the Hogwarts ground. It was a funeral service. The curly haired young girl stood away separated from them. She could see her two best friends standing beside the grave, as the casket was lowered into the ground. Harry and Ron seemed to be supporting each other. The red haired girl also lent on Harry's shoulder, trying her best to curb her tears. It was difficult, she had been Ginny's best friend, they had tried everything, but of no use. Nothing could stop the poison that ran through her blood from eating her from within. Molly seemed to have aged a few more years, after Fred it was just too soon to deal with another death in the family. She stood beside Professor Mc Gonagall, as they tried to support each other. The Gryffindor flag that lay on the casket seem to shine in the early morning sunlight. Strange occurrence was the once enemy house Slytherin were also in attendance.

Who would have thought the snakes would come to mourn the death of the Gryffindor princess, but the one thread that connecting them was missing today. Harry was suddenly aware of his surrounding, he looked around at the crowd that was gathered around him, as if he had come back to his senses, he extricate himself from Ginny's arms and got up and walked up to Blaise, " Zabini where is Malfoy?" he asked Blaise. " I don't know Potter. I asked him to come to the service but he refused. Last time I saw he was walking towards the library." Blaise answered. Harry pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration " I thought I specifically told you not to leave him alone." Harry asked, he swiftly turned towards the castle, and started walking towards it. Blaise followed, so did Ron and Theo. Hermione saw the boys move towards the castle and looked around to the crowd, and understood what was wrong. She looked up towards the castle astronomy tower, and vanished.

Up on the astronomy tower, a young man sat all alone. His feet dangling out of the railing of the tower as he sat on the edge. It was a particularly windy morning, his platinum blond hair blew in the wind. His once shining silver grey eyes seemed to be dead, he held a Gryffindor tie in his hand and looked out at the horizon. The young girl stood behind to him, she then came and sat next to him. She looked up at his eyes, the sparked had left them. She the looked down in his hand he held her tie, " Mya." He whispered softly. " Seems to be the end of the line for me as well." He said. " I can't go on without you." Tears were shining in his eyes, "Draco, no my dragon you have, so much more to do. You have to go on my love." she whispered, but Draco did not hear her. " I have no one left." He held the tie to his lips and kissed it, as tears ran down his eyes. " That's not true. " Came a voice from behind him, Draco turned around to see, Harry, Ron, Blaise and Theo stood behind him. Draco looked away and wiped his tears. " What do you want scar head? Can't you leave me alone?" He snapped. " No we can't ferret." this time it was Ron, " Mione wanted us to look out for you." He said. The rest of the boys standing behind Draco were surprised, the rivalry between the red head and the blond was well known in the school, the reason being the girl who now lay six feet under the ground now.

Ron walked over to the blond boy and sat down beside him, he took the tie out of Draco's hand, caressed it with his finger "I loved her too you know." He said looking at the tie in his hand, Draco kept looking at the horizon. " I had hated her too, because she didn't love me back. I hated you for being a fowl git and taking away what I thought was rightfully mine. I stayed angry with her for a long time." He said quietly. " You hurt her Weasley, you made her cry." Draco retorted, but without any poison in his voice. "Bloody hell! Don't you think I know that you ass? But how would I know that suddenly one term, she would come back to leave us for ever. I suddenly realized that Hermione's friendship was more important to me than hating you was." He answered. He then looked at Draco "She was important to me, though I'm still pissed that she chose you over me but, you are important to her, so now you are important to us as well." Ron said getting up and extended his had to Draco. " Come on let's bid her goodbye. Come on ferret boy." Ron said giving him an encouraging smile. Draco looked at Blaise and Theo, who nodded encouraging him. Draco took Ron's hand and stood up and, let Ron lead him out of the tower.

The girls eyes flooded with tears off happiness to see the two most important men in her life getting along.

Hermione's POV.

I just couldn't control my happiness that was now flowing down from my eyes as tears. They were both important I loved them both, dearly. One was my best friend other my life, at last they were getting along. But it was not always like this. I'm Hermione Granger and this is my story.
