In the day, extraordinary racers challenge one another on the streets of S-City, but at night it is the streets that challenge the racers.

Lights glitter past and rubber swashes through flooded streets. The hood of the Toyota AE86 is washed by a waterfall of rain.

Takumi didn't care because he knew how to drift with precision, a corner here and a turn there. Takumi revs along faster and faster, pushing the limits of his exhilarating skills.

Lightning strikes ahead of Takumi, the sudden impact causes him to swerve. Getting control of his vehicle, he is surprised by what he sees in front of him. A person riding a horse that's covered in steel barding.

Takumi strives to get parallel with this intruding stranger.

Examining the dark haired and pallid man, Takumi nearly lost control of his steering wheel. The man's mount isn't wearing armor. The thing he's riding is a mechanical horse.

While Takumi gawks at the man's horse; the man picks up his pace, stoically gaining speed.

Unyielding, Takumi heads down a side street, to catch up with the galloping machine. He pulls up in front of the stranger, splashing the man with a wave of water.

To compensate, the man urges his steed forward.

He is so close to Takumi that the man is illuminated via tail lights. Takumi stares at his rear view mirror. The man's glistening horse leaps over Takumi's speeding vehicle.

The man lands with his cape billowing in the wind. He darts off the road, like a skittering bat.

Takumi is so busy searching for the stranger, that he doesn't notice that he is about to drive off the edge of a sandbar. He tries to stop but his brakes and wheels lose traction. The tip of his Toyota hangs off the subsiding sand.

Something hauls the falling vehicle back onto the road.

Takumi sees the strange man patting the trunk of his car, then the man tips his hat at Takumi.

The man gets on his horse and yawns, revealing sharp canines. Another flash of lightning, and the ghostly man is gone.

That night only the streets witnessed the abrupt race, and it was pleased.
