Lily and Hosea were gone from camp. From what Dutch told him, Hosea wanted to see for himself how Lily worked. They had the same style. Discrete. To a point. Who knew what absurd character Hosea had her play. She didn't look like the type to play the idiot man-child very well, but it would be the type initiation Hosea would revel in.

Everyone seemed busy that day. The ladies were doing chores, and all the able bodied men were doing that or out. All that was left was Uncle and Micah. Arthur wanted help with an armored coach he had gotten a lead on, but not that badly. Ideally John would be best for a robbery, but he was still injured and thinking twice about it, Arthur preferred better company.

While he was asking Dutch if he knew when anybody was coming back. Lily and Hosea arrived. They were both smiling, no doubt successful, and Lily had on some smart but ill fitting clothes.

"Well, looks like you two had fun!" Dutch greeted them.

Arthur gave her an amused look, hand on his chin in mock thought. "Lemme guess, travelin' snake oil salesman."

"Try best thief ever," Lily bragged.

Hosea chuckled and patted her shoulder. "This little filly conned the clothes off an unpleasant fellow."

"Didn't even take the time to empty his pockets." She happily showed Arthur the wad of bills and pocket watch. "You can have the money."

Arthur smiled at her. "You sure? I'm no expert, but I'ont think that watch's worth much..."

"It was Hosea's spot. I didn't think the guy had any money on him. So it's your split."

Dutch chuckled fondly and put a hand on her shoulder, jostling her. "Oh, my dear, where have you been all my life?"

Hosea elbowed him. "Don't be silly. It was the both of us. Take your cut."

"Well~ I won't say 'no' if you insist." She happily took a smaller chunk out of the stack and stuffed it down her shirt.

"Ah, ah, ah, camp gets a cut." Dutch slipped his hand down her cleavage, and he was in no hurry to grab the money and slip back out.

Lily deftly twirled out of his grip. "Not what we agreed upon, Dutch," she sang.

"Oho, my bad." He held up his hands.

As Lily hopped off to her caravan to stash her goods, Hosea backhanded Dutch in the chest, and gave him scolding look. "We've got a good thing going with the young lady. Don't you ruin it."

"Oh, it's fine, Hosea. I'm sure, Miss Lily understands our...arrangement."

Hosea shook his head, and Arthur slowly moved away, not wanting to get caught up in whatever argument they were about to have. He went over to Lily's caravan just as she came out, still in those ill-fitting clothes. She seemed pensive about something.

"What's wrong, Miss Lee?"

"Do you want these clothes?" She asked as she flopped the sleeves around. "I'd add it to my costumes, but it's a little too big. Fitting it wouldn't really be worth it."

"It is nice looking. Yeah, sure, why not." He expected her to go back into her wagon to change, but with surprising swiftness, she took off her clothes right out in the open. His immediate reaction was to look away, but he realized that she had on her usual clothes, or what she considered clothes, on underneath.

She giggled at his expression, eating up his attempt to not stare. "Pfft. Don't seem so disappointed, Mr. Morgan. I don't mind you seeing me in my delicates. If you wanted to see, all you have to do is ask."

"You don't think those're delicates? My god, woman." Though he tried to joke, he still couldn't bring himself to look at her.

"Don't act offended. You get a free peep show."

He snorted and took the clothes from her. "You're very generous, Miss Lee."

"And?"

"Talented?"

"Annnnnd?"

"Fishin'."

She cackled. "Normally, I'd get 'pretty' in there too, but I'll take talented and generous."

"Well, you are very nice lookin'. In exchange for the clothes, I'll give you that."

"Aw, but I want more compliments," she playfully complained. "What can I do for you so I can get some truly honest compliments?"

Arthur chuckled. "Well, I do have an armored coach I'm robbin', don't s'pose ya can help me with that."

That seemed to catch her interest. "Depends, what's the route?"

Humoring her, he took out his map and traced a trail from Valentine to Saint Denis, taking the roads south through the heartlands. "I was...honestly just jokin', Miss Lee. You told me you can't shoot."

"And you're just going to go in and shoot an armored coach and armed guards?"

He shrugged.

She threw him a concerned look. "It turns out I can do something for you. Do you know how to herd, Mr. Morgan?"

"I do."

"There's a herd of wild cattle near that trail that'll work perfectly."

Before they left, Arthur made sure, more than once, to ask if she wanted to change. To which, she dismissed him. They headed out on Arthur's horse to the place where Lily had mentioned, and like she said, there was a herd, grazing. They were mostly indifferent, but a few of the bulls watched carefully as Arthur trotted around them. They looked just like any other bull, save for the massive pair each one had between their legs. Guaranteed they were aggressive. Lily's idea was to use them to ram the carriage. Hopefully they would listen to him and not try and charge him instead.

While waiting for the target, Lily laid prone just atop the slope. Arthur was next to her, following her gaze as it shifted around the environment. Her expression was sharp and completely serious. He was sure she was taking in their surroundings with every new movement, but he wasn't too sure what she was looking at.

He suddenly felt like he was out of his element. At best, all he could think to do was run in to block their path and hope he could out shoot them. She was so careful and diligent.

"You must really not want me ta get shot, bein' this careful," Arthur joked.

Warmth came back into her expression. "I'm gonna need more compliments from you before I let you go."

He chuckled. "And what makes what I say matter so much?"

"Because I think you're being honest."

"I'ont think anyone's lying when they say you're pretty, Miss Lee."

Her smile broadened as she looked at him and slowly turned back to look at the environment again. But even as her eyes moved around, they weren't taking in every detail like they were before. "I think I see the coach coming. You should get ready."

"Sure." Arthur got up with a grunt and brushed himself off. "And I'm steerin' 'em right down the hill, right?"

"Yup, on my signal." She slightly raised her hand and then put it down swiftly, showing him, again, what he was looking for.

He nodded at her and hopped onto his horse and got into position, carefully hovering around the herd. While he was waiting for the signal, he took a moment to just take in his situation. This was his first robbery with Lily. After having to babysit Sean for his first few heists, Arthur swore to himself that he'd never do it again. But so far, she seemed better at this than he was.

Drawing him away from his thoughts, Lily gave the signal before quickly moving into the shade of a tree to be as out of the way as possible.

Arthur nudged his horse into a gallop and rounded the herd, steering them towards the slope. As he approached, he looked at Lily to see what she was thinking. Judging by the serious look on her face, it didn't look like they were done yet. She pulled out something from her pocket. When he saw the flicker of light, he realized it was a match. She lit a fuse and before he knew what was going on, loud popping noises rang out, one after another in rapid succession. It spooked the already running herd into a stampede, and if not for his aggressive soothing, it would've spooked his own horse too.

He didn't see the moment the herd collided with the coach, but the sound of shouting and the crashing told him everything he needed to know.

Lily and Arthur rushed down into the wreckage. As Arthur completely took out the guards who were barely awake and search them for keys, Lily went straight for the coach, unlocking the door with a set of lockpicks. Effortlessly, she tossed the door open. Arthur wandered over, after realizing she didn't need a key. He peeked inside, and Lily shoved some security boxes, filled with money at him.

Arthur quickly emptied the boxes into his bag as she handed more stuff to him.

"Alright, that should be enough. " Lily hopped out and scattered some empty boxes. "Hurry, they might wake up soon."

"Ladies first." Arthur gestured to his horse. Lily hopped on and he followed, taking the reigns.

"Now follow the stampede for a while."

He nodded and set off, following the trampled grass. "You think they'd be able to track us?"

"You can never be too sure. The more money lost, the more someone's going to want to find you. I didn't take all of it, but it still might be enough to want revenge."

"I guess so. You're a lot smarter than I thought, Miss Lee."

"After all this time, you still thought I was just some dumb hussy?"

"Ain't that a good thing? Thought you fed offa that like some lil' parasite."

She poked her head over his shoulder and gave him a hopeful look. "A...cute parasite?"

Arthur snorted in amusement. "For the few hundred we just got? Alright, a cute parasite."

Lily sat back, proud of herself.

As they got far enough, Arthur slowed down to a stop. He riffled through his bag and took out the wadded up money. Looking at her sheepishly, he smoothed them all out before dividing it in half. "$150 for each of us."

"Why thank you, Mr. Morgan." Lily cheekily stuffed her cut into her bustier.

"Gotta admit, it's nice workin' with you. Can't remember the last time I got this much money workin' with someone. Without it goin' to hell, anyways..."

"Well, I'd be glad to help you whenever you need. It's a little lonely going on jobs by myself."

"You'll have ta excuse me if I'm not as cunnin' as you."

She shrugged. "You've been doing this for a while, and you're still alive. You must be doing something right."

"Durable."

Lily giggled. "How about we just make plans that don't require the gunfighting then."

"Those exist?" he joked.

"Oh yes, believe it or not, you can rob people without shooting or getting shot."

"My god, you must teach me, Miss Lee."

"It does...worry me that all your big heists, seem to involve you going in guns out."

"Well, not always. Sometimes, we go in with our guns in our holsters then take 'em out."

She let out a little snort as she giggled. "I mean that Dutch seemed like more of a...pacifist."

It was Arthur's turn to laugh. "Well, I wouldn't say pacifist. He taught us not to kill for fun or sport, and never let emotions drive it, but sometimes things turn sour an' ya gotta do what ya gotta do."

"As long as you know that you're being put in unnecessary danger."

"It is necessary."

Lily smiled sympathetically at him. "You're a very loyal man, Mr. Morgan. Your family is lucky to have you. I hope they know that."

Arthur sheepishly looked at her. He didn't expect to hear that. He knew that Dutch and all of them appreciated what he did, sometimes, but hearing it from someone who only just joined, tickled him in a way. He didn't even think he did that much this time around, but she appreciated him all the same. She casually squeezed his shoulder with a bright smile on her face. It was a smile that he couldn't help returning.
