Chapter 1: Uncontrollable

"WTF! What's wrong today?!?!" a war veteran earned a lot of suspicious looks from the pachinko bar. He spent half the day wasting his little savings. It started when he woke up from a bad dream. Just like any other person, he forgot everything from his dream as soon as he wakes up. After that, continuous bad luck came over him. Shinpachi was nowhere in sight so no one to ask to prepare breakfast. Kagura did not stop pestering him until she gets the money to buy a new set of hair care treatments. Sadaharu pooped his Vespa. As he cleans his motorcycle, Otose reminded him about the rent. He got a speeding ticket by Hijikata. A drunken terminator and a liberated ninja clinged to him all the way from Yoshiwara to Kabuki. On the way home he saw the flat chested woman being friendly with a gorilla just outside the club. He decided to find his luck on a pachinko bar but he even earned a debt from Madao. Night has come and he plans to go to his favorite food stall but was so disappointed that it was replaced by a Takoyaki stand.

"Aaarghhh! What's happening to me?!?!?!?!?!" He stomped the ground and when he turned around, another bad luck came to him.

He woke up. It was dark but only the moon serves as the light. He can't move his body. His eyes travel until it landed on a curvy figure. He can't figure out at the moment but when the figure turned around, his heart beats slower.

"Oh...it's only you, Tae."

"Good thing you wake up".

"I thought it was a ghost. When did you became curvy? Is that gorilla showers you with a lot of food? He might cause you to add fat except that flatboard chest of yours--", He was stopped by her powerful fist. Her usual answer to his never ending insult.

'Why that tone? Are you jealous?!"

"Shut up! Why would I be jealous?! You're not my type and besides I am way better than any gorilla out there," He faced away from her.

She decided not to be affected by his words, "Well if you felt that way then just don't comment about my body. Oh just to let you know Kondo-san is also a good cook and yes, he gave a lots of homecooked meals and they are all delicious." He decided not to hear that last sentence but he felt unease from his heart. "Well good for you. You don't have to cook anymore." He said that as an excuse for Otae not to make any burnt food anymore.

"Well that's not the case." Tae suddenly helped him sit up. "You got hit by a pizza delivery rider. Kondo-san and I saw you lying helplessly on the ground while he walks me home from work. You should be thankful for him. He helped me cook this beef stew because I know you don't have dinner yet. I made an effort for that one." The way she smiles at him plus she made an effort to cook to this unlucky bastard tugged his heart. At the same time, he can't help but feel uncomfortable knowing she spends a lot of time with that gorilla. What happened to those last 2 years he was gone? Does nature likes gorilla to be with a same specie? Could it be possible that a female gorilla could end up with a lone wolf?

"Why am I thinking this? " He blurted out on his mind. But his mouth did not stop him out of curiosity, "Are you dating him?"

She blushed, "Why are you curious about my lovelfe?"

"Lovelife?!" He was sure he heard his heart breaks.

She laughs from his reaction. "if you only knew Gin-san... " she just speaks her mind. Her laugh fades as the two stared at each other, quietly, in a dark room. A loud meow outside cuts the tension.

"Eat this before it gets cold," she awkwardly handed him the dish. It looks appetizing but he was having a second thought knowing that gorilla helped her creating it. He unconsciously wished that he was the one teaching her. He doesn't want to know why Tae suddenly spends her time with that guy and what they're doing. Are they really dating?. He decided to scoop a portion since after all, she decided to stay right here with him, not with that guy.

Another bad luck came by as he blurted out the portion. "What is that Tae?! Did that gorilla helped you poison me?"

Tae suddenly panicked, "Sorry Gin-san! I'm sure he did not mean to..."

"No he poisoned me! Why are you even defending him?"

"Because i helped him cook it. And he's a good guy!"

"Did you forgot he stalks you...even now?! Are you falling for him?!" He raised his voice.

She matched it as she raised her voice higher, "What?! This is not about him! In the end I cooked it! You know I always burn the food so I let him teach me so I can cook for you guys."

"Well obviously he's not a great teacher. Don't cook anymore. I can cook you know. Don't bother to even try..."

It's only a small thing but it is a big deal for Tae as she hold her tears not to fall. "You're right. Why would I even bother trying. I have someone to cook for me...And I'm not talking about you..."

For him, it was the biggest insult he received from her. He had enough of this gorilla guy today. He was about to burst when, "What is that smell?"

"Oh no!" Tae quickly went to kitchen. She forgot to turn off the stove. She decided to cook a dessert special to Gin-san. She remembers how pissed Kondo when she begs to teach her and he even asks, "Why do you even exert so much effort to a guy who doesn't look back at you. I'm here you know?" She did not answer him not to hurt his feelings but in the end, she was the one hurting herself. .

Suddenly a large fire just appeared. Gin tried to drag Tae away from it even though he can't tolerate the body pain anymore. 45 minutes later, the fire broke out. Unfortunately the fire spread towards the bar too.

"We just let you rest because you had an injury and yet you made a huge problem?! You can't even pay us back!" Shinpachi scolded him as soon as he's back from his Otsu Fanclub meeting.

"Anego, are you alright?" Kagura,who's back from Princess Soyo's office comforts her big sis. Tae nervously doesn't want to look at the Yorozuya boss for the first time.

"Calm down Shinpachi...It's not the first time he didn't pay you guys. Gintoki...You owe me a lot of money now. We just restored the whole house from that war 2 months ago!" Gintoki clearly not listening at that point. He was staring into space. He was not sure why he's getting all the possible bad luck exist. He knew it got something to do with that bad dream but he couldn't recollect his thoughts as soon as he heard a familiar scream.

"Otae-san!!!!" He saw Tae's attention changed as she saw him. She was saying something to him but couldn't hear her. They look really close and to his shock Shinpachi was not activating his siscon mode. Then suiddenly he saw Tae's tears flow and quickly Kondo hugged her and she just let him without punching him.

That's when he finally snapped.

He didn't hear Shinpachi screams, "Don't hug my sister!" as his gaze fix on the gorilla couple. Gin quickly dragged her away from everybody, holding her fist tightly. His head is full of every emotions right now that he did not mind Tae's complain. 'Let me go! You're holding me too tight!".

'Gin-chan! What are you doing with Anego?!"

"Don't even bother touch my aneue like that?!"

"Gintoki!"

Kondo was about to follow them but he stopped as Gin look at him. His eyes are different.

Gin dragged Tae in a nearby alley. "What's wrong with you!?" I am willing to take the blame for the fire okay! You're acting so weird! I don't even know you anymore!"

"Well no one knows about me maybe except Zura... Look Tae. I had a very very very bad day today--'

'--is it because of me?!"

An outrage of emotions just suddenly burts out from him, "Yes! I had already a bad day and you made it worse! You know you can't cook but you forced yourself to have a talent you don't clearly have! You set the house on fire and you even go out on dates with that stupid stalker of yours! I don't even know why he still clings on you." He could clearly see her tears and her fist getting clenched. "Yeah, punch me if you want. Punch me as hard as you can".

To his surprise, he was met with a powerful slap. He was never slapped from anyone, especially coming from her. He saw how hurtful she was. More hurtful to see than when he saw her face leaving them for Kyubei's marriage and knowing that he was the caused of this.

"What happened to you?", even though she's hurt her voice still sounds comforting, "I still want to help you because I know what you've been through from the past years. Me and the kids and everyone here at Kabuki misses you. I'm always there for you and this is how you express gratitude? This is not Gin-san I knew. He doesn't shows it but he cared in some ways. This is not the Gin-san i'm looking at. Don't worry, I'm not gonna try to cook for you, patch you up when you're injured or giving you free strawberry ice cream whenever you come around in the house unannounced. You don't exist to me anymore. Shinpachi is mature enough to know if he still gonna stay with you or not. You're not gonna see my burnt f11ood anymore since i already have a guy to cook for me. I should not have ask you to fight for me in the first place whe i try to shoo away Kondo-san but I guess I had the wrong person to shoo away. Thank you for making me cry Gin-san because I realized something. Why would I pay extra attention to someone who doesn't appreciate me when I had someone who cherished me? You know What? For the past couple weeks of spending time with Kondo-san.. I think I know my answer to his question. Oh by the way, don't regret this day".

"What question?!"

She did not answer him. Instead she walked away, not even try to wipe her tears. Gin-san believed he was curse that day. "What did I do?" He doesn't exist anymore form her world. He doesn't want that. He went back and saw a furious and disappointing faces of Kagura, Shinpachi and Otose. His heart crushed when he saw Tae crying on Kondo's embrace. Gintoki was so disappointed with himself. Tae stopped crying and when she saw him, he clearly hearing her say, "Take me away from here, please".

Kondo gave him a furious look as he put his arm around her shoulder, "From now on, I'll make sure you'll be happy with me". He said to her as they walked away from the scene. Gin was about to follow them when Shinpachi grabbed him by the collar, "You should stop them! She's with her stalker! They might ceate another gorilla anytime!"

"I don't like that idea but I know now who's right for aneue. How could you Gin-san?" Gintoki cannot express anymore, "Then... Yeah let her have that! You don't eveb know how my day went... "

"Be careful what you wish for Gintoki", Otose warned him. There was something sinister the way she said that so he ran away. He ran as fast as he can, as far as he can. He was dragging himself in an unknown place.

"You're stupid Gintoki! What have you done?!" He's pulling his hair out that people around him might call a metal institute anytime. He thought it's just a round of bad luck. How did he got that far? Did he really said those things to Tae? Was he drunk? The thought of that gorila comforting Tae right now gave him anxiety. He stopped in an alley, sat down and closed his eyes. Did he just...let her go? Why he was thinking of her too much? She's just Shinpachi's sister and Kabuki Queen...nothing more nothing less.

"Then why am I had this urge to cry...for that uncute woman?" Without realizing it, his tears started to flow. Minutes later, he stood up and started to walk, not even wiping away his tears. He decided to be drunk and escape again from Kabuki. He1 will not return, for good. He saw a bar and when he was about to cross, another pizza delivery rider hit him.

Author's Note:

Sorry for a lot of Kondo's scenes. I'm kind of a sadist and I want to see Gin's regretting everyrhing and to realize that it is still important to show appreciation. You know Gin, instead of showing it bravely, he just insults his friends. I want to see him suffer!!! Hehehe... Just joking no worries it atill gonna be a good ending.
