Hi! Welcome back to Chapter 15 of Reunited. It's been months. I'm so sorry I got so busy and I know I suck for not updating but here I am. I really hope you enjoy this chapter and what's coming next. I hope everyone has a good week. Fav, Review, and Follow.

Riley's POV

Something about today didn't sit right with me. I was so nervous and I didn't know why. Why was I being so dramatic? Why did I always get like this before seeing Lucas and why was Maya acting so damn weird. She was up to something. Ever since making plans for me and Lucas she's been acting suspiciously. So has Josh.

"What are you wearing?" Maya stormed into a room with a black short tight silk dress. She had her hair up in a bun with a french braid and she was wearing black heels and makeup.

"What the hell are you wearing?" I stared back at her. I had on a white sweater with dark blue jeans and brown boots.

"It's an expensive bar Riley, we're supposed to dress fancy."

I threw my head back in frustration and sat on the bed, "I just spent an hour changing outfits trying to look good. I look horrible and not put together."

"Don't worry about that anymore because I got something that'll look great on you." She handed me a dress. It was a red silk dress just like hers. Except mine was shorter and had a v neck. It was

sexy...something I couldn't pull off.

"Maya...we're going to a bar, not a club. This is sexy, not fancy and I could never wear something like this."

"It's fancy especially when you pair it with the winter jacket you have and you have worn it. Riley, do you not remember that dress?"

"No...I would remember if I'd worn this." I told her looking back at the dress.

"Just put it on Riley, trust me," She said rushing me. I sighed, taking the dress out of her hand. I already knew she wanted me to dress sexy for Lucas. I was with Daniel and Lucas had other things to worry about. I know Maya wanted us together but some relationships cannot be fixed. It's been 4 year since me and Lucas were together. I put on the dress with a pair of white pumps to match my winter coat and walked out the door to meet up with Lucas.

Lucas's POV

I wasn't sure why I was having dinner with Maya and Riley today but I was. Maya had asked me to hang out with her and Riley and of course, I refused at first but realized Maya had done a lot for me so why not. I didn't care about Riley. I cared but I didn't. I'd be upset if something bad happened to her but she was no longer an important person in my life and I don't think she ever will be again but Maya seemed really happy that Riley had squashed the beef and with the breakup, she had with Payge I had to support her being friends with Riley.

"Lucas!" Maya grinned as she pulled me in a hug.

"Woah." I yelped trying to catch myself from falling off the stool.

"Sorry. I'm just so happy to see you and I brought Riley." She pulled Riley over as she looked nervous. I looked over at Riley and she looked back, "Hi Lucas."

"Hi" I greeted back then looked back at Maya. I was civil with Riley. I didn't dislike her and I couldn't because she was helping her mom with my case. She was still the same kind-hearted and hard-working person I knew from before. But she made me nervous in a way I couldn't explain. Being close to her made me uncomfortable, long eye contact made me uncomfortable, and we were always in some awkward interactions.

"Well let's sit." Maya led us to a table, "Let's order drinks just to make sure there's no tension in the room." She said, taking off her coat.

"I thought we agreed not to get drunk." Riley addressed as she stood up to take off her coat.

"I definitely need a drink," I mumbled and looked away from Riley.

"What was that?" Maya smirked. I looked at Maya and rolled my eyes. She knew exactly what she was doing. I picked up my menu trying to concentrate on what I was ordering but there was no denying the fact that Riley was beautiful. I knew Maya was up to something but I didn't know Riley was in on it. She was wearing the dress she wore for our first date. I had barely paid attention to her body or looks before but she did look different in the dress now than she used to. She had curves now. She had a nice figure, she had more cleavage. She was surprisingly really good at doing her makeup which I'm glad for because the old Riley was too insecure to wear makeup.

"I'm not hungry."

"Lucas you need to eat something if you're gonna be drinking."

You're the one who ruined my appetite I thought.

"It's fine. I ate a sandwich I had picked up from your mom when dropping Lily off. She actually was kind enough to watch Lily for me tonight."

"Well of course you know they're there for you anytime." She smiled at me.

Why are you wearing that dress? I wanted to ask but I didn't. It was a recurring thought that wasn't gonna go away until she told me why. It's been 7 years since our first date. She could have worn any other dress she's brought in the past 7 years and she wears the one from our first date.

"Hello, can I take your order?"

"Yeah, can I just have a martini?" I told the waitress.

"Can I have your shrimp alfredo and for the drink can I have vodka strawberry lemonade?"

Riley was probably gonna order a burger.

"Can I have your cheeseburger replace the fries with onion rings and for the drink can I have a martini as well?"

"Alright, thank you. I'll be back with your order in about 15 minutes. Is that okay?"

We nodded.
"A martini? Don't you wanna order a strawberry lemonade?" I teased. I haven't been around Riley recently enough to see the way that she drinks but she did not do well with alcohol in our teenage years.

"Haha," she said sarcastically.

"Actually you guys seem to be getting along pretty well without the alcohol." Maya smiled at us.

"I mean yeah you basically forced us so many times too." I replied.

"Yes but you seem so much happier. Are you okay?"

"No. I'm going to lose the case."

"No you're not." They both said.

"Yes, I am." I told them. Even if it didn't seem like it I was wrecked about the custody battle. The only reason why I agreed on going to this restaurant is because I knew I could drink without anyone worrying about me falling back into old habits so instead of drinking by myself, I decided just to drink with them. I was going to lose though. She has stronger evidence than me and I've been in more shit than she has. They knew I was going to lose, they just didn't want to admit it.

"Here are your drinks. I'll be back." The waitress came interrupting our conversations. I immediately started drinking my drink.

"Why do you think you're going to lose?" Riley questioned.

Riley had no idea what I went through when she left me. No one ever told her because it wasn't their place and I never said anything because I don't like talking about it. It was dark and I'm embarrassed about it.

Maya looked at me and I gulped down my drink before speaking, "Since we're trying to crush our past I might as well tell you. When you left I fell into a deep depression, started drinking every day and smoking, lost my job, crashed my car, and got arrested for battery and assault. I never talk about it because a lot of people think I'm stupid for "destroying" my life over a girl but little did they know that girl was the only person I had. I've sobered up, gotten a bunch of therapists, got my car fixed, and got a new job so I'm fine now but they're going to try to use that against me in court."

Riley sat there in shock like I knew she would. She was the type of person to do anything to show that she was sorry but I didn't want to be bothered with this one, "And please don't apologize. I know you're sorry for leaving me but every time you apologize I feel worse and it's not your fault I did all those things."

She sat there quietly staring at me lost for words as expected. Don't get me wrong I'm still hurt and Riley leaving is something I'll always remember but now talking about it doesn't affect me as much as it used to. I had to let it go and toughen up when Payge told me she was pregnant. Lily saved me and I'll never go back to my old habits as long as she's my daughter.

"I-" She barely spoke.

"It's fine Riley really. We don't even have to talk about it but I wanted to tell you before you hear it from someone else in court."

She still sat there in silence.

"W-well I think you still have a chance at winning and you will okay?" Maya added, trying to break the silence.

"We'll see." I sat back. The next 30 minutes were Riley and Maya eating their dinner and us ordering more drinks. I was on my 3rd drink and I definitely could start feeling the effects. I didn't want to get drunk because I didn't trust myself around Riley or getting drunk in public.

"That's enough for me." I pushed the glass away.

"Yeah, me too, I'm such a lightweight I don't wanna throw up again." Riley said.

"Before we finish, how about we make a toast?" Maya proposed.

A toast?

"A toast for what?" I wondered.

"New beginnings duh. We're all finally together again. Let's celebrate my and Riley's friendship and let's celebrate you and Riley's new friendship as well."

"Yeah...friendship right?" I added.

"Yeah what else would it be?"

"Well I don't know but you've been acting real suspicious lately Maya. You both actually have."

"Me?" Riley exclaimed, "Maya's definitely acting suspiciously but me? What did I do?" She questioned.
I shook my head," Why are you wearing that dress?" I asked, taking it a step further.

Maya grinned and laughed as she looked between me and Riley.

"Um, I don't know because Maya told me to wear it. What's wrong with it?"

"It's a nice dress, nothing is wrong with it but why today? Why with me?"

She paused in confusion and looked at Maya. Maya turned to me, "She, unfortunately, doesn't remember the first time she wore the dress."

I looked back at Riley in disbelief. It's been years since that date but I remembered it because it was special. Even Maya remembered it so how come Riley couldn't.

"You seriously don't remember?"

"Can you guys just tell me when I wore the dress please?" She said in frustration.

"That's the dress you wore for our first date." I addressed.

She looked at me and shook her head, "Noooo...the dress I wore for our first date was purple and it had a lot of sequins."

"No." I corrected, "It's the dress you're wearing right now."

She looked at me in disbelief, "You guys are so wrong. Maya we literally got on the train together and Lucas we had our first kiss in that purple dress. How can you not remember?"

Me and Maya looked at each other trying to put together the information she told us until it hit me. We had different ideas of what our first date was. The first date she's talking about was when we were kids in middle school and were not together. The first date I'm talking about was in high school when we were together.

"You're talking about our date in middle school." I told her.

"Oh. That date...now I remember." Maya said.

"Yeah...because that was the first date we ever went on. What date are you guys talking about?"

"You wore that same dress in freshman year when we started dating. We had finally gotten out of our awkward phase, started dating and I took you out to dinner."

"That date." She smiled as she remembered, "Now I remember." She said looking over to Maya, "You really forced me to wear this dress just because of that?"

"Yup. I knew Lucas wouldn't forget about it." She smirked.

"But why? I questioned.

"I don't know but anyway we should go back to my place and maybe watch some movies yeah?" She added standing up to put on her jacket.

Me and Riley looked at each other and then back at her because of how weird she was acting.

"Whatever you say Maya." Riley agreed standing up to put back on her coat. I looked back at the dress to admire her beauty but quickly looked away when she caught me staring.

"Who's paying?" Maya asked.

Riley shook her head and laughed, "Same old Maya." She chuckled, pulling out her purse.

"No." I stopped her, "I'll pay. It's my treat." I pulled out my wallet.
"No don't, we can split it."

"No it's okay really it's no big deal," I told her, setting money on the table.

"Well thank you." She smiled at me.

"Yeah thanks, Huckleberry." Maya walked us out the door.

"You guys still call each other nicknames?" She giggled.

"Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'll never escape from it." I rolled my eyes.

"Are you coming with us to watch movies?" Maya asked me.

I shook my head, "Sounds fun but I'm tired. Kinda just wanna go home and go to sleep." I told them.

"Well okay then. Bye text me when you get home." Maya told me.

I nodded, "I will."

"Bye Lucas." Riley waved at me.

"Bye Riley." I waved back.

I'll admit that the night was a lot better than I thought it would be. I'm completely unstable and no one noticed. With Lily being my distraction, it was easier to hang out with Riley. All I can think about is her and how I'm going to get her back. Also seeing Maya happier made me happy, she was my best friend after all. I didn't know what plans Maya had for me and Riley but whatever it is I hope she doesnt go to far. Maya Hart always likes to go a little bit too far.
