Chapter One: Meeting Jasper And Horace

One morning as Alexis is walking in wolf form she soon stops upon seeing two boys.

"Nobody can see us." A slender boy says.

"Right." A heavy set boy says as Alexis stays hidden and watches them take some fruit before a man sees them.

"Hey! You two!" The man shouts.

"Run!" The heavy set boy shouts before the two boys take off running.

"Get back here!" The man shouts as he chased the boys.

"What are those two doing? They'll get caught around that corner." Alexis says as she watches the boys before taking off running after them and hiding nearby as she watches the man grab the two boys.

"Got you! You two are in big trouble." The man shouts.

"Let us go!" The slender boy shouts before Alexis shifts to human form around the corner and goes over to the group.

"You two are coming with me. I'm gonna-" The man then gets cut off by Alexis.

"There you two are! Mother and I have been worried sick." Alexis says as the two boys look at her.

"You know these two miss?" The man asks.

"Yes. They're my brothers. Isn't that right boys?" Alexis asks as the boys nod.

"Yeah! She's our sister." The slender boy says.

"May I ask why you are holding them like that?" Alexis asks sweetly.

"Miss your brothers tried to steal some fruit from a stand. I will have to call your parents." The man says.

"Oh my apologies. My brothers are always getting into mischief. Allow me to pay for their stolen fruit. Mother will be worried sick if we aren't home soon. I promise they will not do this again." Alexis says as she gives the man some money.

"Well... Alright. Fine. But see to it your mother hears about this. And I best not see you two stealing again." The man says as he lets the two boys go.

"You won't sir. Promise." Alexis says.

"Get on out of here. Go home. All of you." The man says.

"Yes sir. Come on boys." Alexis says as she runs off to around the corner with the boys.

"Who are you and why'd you do that?" The slender boy asks.

"Yeah. You don't know us. You could of gotten caught too for that." The heavy set boy says.

"Please. I can tell a couple of orphans when I see them. I should know because I am one. You wouldn't be stealing food otherwise. Besides I didn't want to see you get caught. It's hard to have to steal to survive. But it's even worse going to a children home." Alexis says.

"I guess I can see your point. Well thanks." The heavy set boy says.

"No problem." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.

"So you're an orphan too?" The slender boy asks.

"Yeah. Been one since I was little. I've got experience stealing so it's nothing new to me." Alexis says.

"We do too. Just got unlucky that time." The heavy set boy says.

"I could see that." Alexis says as she chuckles slightly.

"What's your name?" The slender boy asks.

"Alexis. You?" Alexis asks.

"I'm Jasper and this is Horace." The slender boy says kindly.

"Nice to meet you both." Alexis says.

"Well we're gonna head home. Would you want to come with us? It's not much but it does look like it's gonna rain soon. It be the least we could do for helping us out." Jasper says as he looks at the sky.

"That would be amazing. Thank you." Alexis says.

"Come on then." Jasper says as the group gets to walking.
