Gaston LeGume was once a hero of his village...or so he thought
It wasn't a complete lie but wasn't a complete truth either.
No one lied like Gaston
His was an accomplished hunter and an ex soldier who fought in a war effort to provide his village
In doing so he became one of the richest and influential people in the vilalge, his actions gave been supported and praised by the townspeople his entire life
Gaston wasn't pure evil, just self interested and egotisitcal, never ceasing until he accomplishes his goals and the townspeople loved it.
The people of Gaston's poor provincial town were just pleased he didn't think too much or question the world around him. They wanted a leader and a provider to match the expectations of success.
In the town Gaston spent his whole life getting stronger and getting bigger through mass consumption of eggs and all the while gaining respect as he brought in large game for his trophy wall and built a tavern as a hub for the community. Which contained many heads of poor animals, including some he haunted once as a soldier in europian forests in order to survive the mission. He also snag some foreign home devor and sailed back home. Bambi's mother killer found
Gaston's influence in the town made him into a local hero with influence over the minds and hearts of his people and tohse people fed into his ego.
It seemed the more he did for himself, the more he received from the townspeople as the greatest hunter, warrior and man in the town.
No one in town is as admired as Gaston, he's everyone favourite guy.
All of this overdone recognition fed into his belief he could do no wrong, turning him into an arrogant narcissist while everything around else in his life became stable and praised
The only thing he could not attain is a towns girl that stoodot from most named Belle which led to years of relentless pursuit and Gaston suffering from obsessive love.
From his days of a youth, he was running around, flaunting his massive ego
Right from the moment he met her, saw her. He said she's gorgeous and he fell from the very time they were children
Gaston was in pursuit of Belle all of his life with an intense infatuation with the blue dressed girl who was reading a picture less book
She continuously rejects him but this only dampens his ego and rives him to further extremes believing to be a prize he must win.
When he sets up an entire wedding withot asking Belle if she would like to be a part of it.
He is furious when he rejects.
Gaston posseses an obssessive desire to possess Belle with an inability to accept failure or rejection so Belle telling him 'no' leads to his obsession with Belle to become so intense that it turns him into a twisted sadistic murderous monster
They said no beast alive stood a chance against greatest hunter in gaston and no girl for that matter. That however was tested on one fateful day when after a pep talk by his friends, Gaston threatens to throw Belle's father Maurice in an insane asylum to lure in Belle and when Belle tries to prove her father's tale of a beast of the old curse castle are true, Gaston jealousy boils over.
Gaston over exagerrates the situation, convinces the town lair they are threatened and manipulated them into fighting a battle to kill the beast in old blood. For if he couldn't have Belle then no one else could either.
He stormed the castle with the mirror in his hands which he smashed into pieces once he slammed his way inside along with the townspeople which led to hem fighting agaisnt numerous inanimate objects. Not to mention some dark hideous creatures with yellow golden eyes that seemed to be helping him against beast's allies Sora vs heartless
But he cared little for them, they could take whatever booty they could find for all he cared, the beast however was his for the taking
And when he finally met beast he taunts tortures and ridicules the saddened beast for his love for Belle as though he could've easily been overpowered, the beast was too depressed to defend himself...at least that was at the beginning. When Belle arrived at the castle and yelled for him to stop, the beast understands that the one he loves doesn't see him as a monster.
That turned the tables as the now the cursed prince came to his senses and started to fight back against the invading encroucher in the rain on the roofs around the castle.
Unknown to either of them they started out to be quite a like when they were young but they were still different for even after the beast conquers the great Gaston who pleaded for mercy and willingly spares his life, Gaston is determined to defeat his enemy once and for all.
However yet another thing they both did not know was that they are connected more than they think.
Years ago Gaston was a former friend of prince Adam before he became the beast.
He often hunted with him and hung around the tavern earning the gazes of young women.
He was also indirectly responsible for the curse, as he informed the Prince that a woman he was betrothed to, Circe, was a farmer, resulting in the Prince coldly refusing her, as well as her and her sisters deciding to exact revenge by cursing the Prince and his staff.
Eventually, Gaston ended up evicted from the castle by the Prince after strange episodes occurred that ruined an attempted betrothal with a princess of a nearby kingdom. Although Gaston did not turn into an object, he was nonetheless affected by the curse in the sense of forgetting his friendship with the Prince.
The tragedy is that he could not remember anything until it was too late.
He stabbed the beast in the back, causing him pain and the beast swings his arm which loose Gaston's balance and forces him to fall off the castle down a rainy Cliffside. The skulls jumped up in his eyes to scream of immense danger.
But he wasn't dead, it was a close call for sure but the lake he fell into turned out to be deeper than it looked from above. He emerged out of it in pain of a broken leg but still alive.
It turned into a nightmare to him as the memories flowed back into his head.
And here his rage started to lessen as regret overtaken his mind.
He yelled and screamed, cursing Circe's sisters who made him commit the deed read beast within : A tale of beauty's prince
He however realised that even if they didn't, his lust for Belle and narcissism was what drove him. It was all his fault, and so his spirit was compromised as were his beliefs too. He was wrong about everything...
...And so he left everything behind after that. Belle, Adam, Lafou and even his village. No one would miss him there, there was nothing for him here anymore.
He then stranded and traveled for a long time throughout the France, trying ot hunt some animals again to survive...through he hesitated to kill them.
One of those days he stumbled on a particular animal, a black horse who was surrounded by several gunman which didn't seem good
He didn't want to get himself into trouble but something told him he couldn't abandon the animal to it's death so he used his skills and experience
He took them on by surprise at first, they however shot him in the leg which made it a bit difficult
The horse surprised him in return too as he helped to fight them away, either kicking them unconcsious or disarming them resulting them to run away
Gaston felt that they will be back for more and planned to move forward, he had to be quick for the boat to not sail without him. He found some boat with riches on board recently before encountering these hunters and it was leaving soon so be had to hurry. To his further surprise, the horse he saved helped him once more by tossing him on his back.
Gaston was stunned, no animal before had shown to him any sort of aid. But reluctantly he accepted his help and made it in time for the departure.
He made sure to keep him and his new horse who he later named "Daredevil" anonymous and hidden. The boat lead them across the ocean all the way from France to America.
He searched for a place to live in, he and his horse were traveling alot again. He would be irritated if he didn't felt satisfaction from his adventures around the world
It took a while but he found a village that hopefully had things to offer, called "Sleepy Hollow". The town's residents didn't seem hostile and were quite intrigued into him, he even was given home for a short time by Katrina the beautiful daughter of Baltus Van Tassell, the county's most prosperous farmer.
He did took a liking to Katrina but based on his previous attempts at Belle, he decided to keep it to himself until he made sure she'll like him
He introduced himself but not as Gaston, that name meant nothig anymore even to him. So he chose a new name Brom Bones and earned his place as the resident fo Sleepy Hollow and managed to get himself a new house and some new friends.
He bonded very much with Daredevil during their time together, he also didn't forget Katrina's kindness to him adn tried to impress her which made progress unlike with Belle this time around.
Sleepy Hollow then had a halloween night, he wasnt much knowledgable on that but the townsfolk enlighten him of the tradition. It was weird but funny. Except there were rumors of some killer maniac running around the forests on halloween night. They called him the Headless Horseman, a dark phantom and a pumpkin king of the Sleepy Hollow monsters Horseman is Jack Skellington
He didn't believe such ridiculous tales fully bt gave it benefit of the doubt considering his confrontation with his cursed friend Adam. He still felt bad about the incident...he took Daredevil out on that exact night
If that horseman was some fraud he'd better be ready for what will come to him for scaring travelers.
And so he wandered until they met, by the time the trees looked like veins, the clouds above formed like hands clouding the moon light as if the forest itself enjoyed the freak show
And then the horseman appeared laughing intensely, his head abscent with a fiery pumpkin head and a sharp sword in his hands.
His horse was no better, a shaded demon with deep red eyes
The horseman followed him all around slashing for his head, Brom knew what he wanted, to have his head sliced off for himself.
Or so they say. Brom tried fighting him, as he rode Daredevil straight towards him. In the right moment he dodged the sword and jumped on him. He will put an end to this facade as he looked for his head inside...to his utter shock, he saw nothing there but bones within the suit
It was at this moment that Brom knew this was a real deal.
Even if he fought the whole night, the spirit won't tire out so he tried to outrace it to no avail as it knew surroundings a lot better and maneuvered it's way around him multiple times but luckily he did it. Daredevil was fast enough to out maneuver them both and made for the bridge at the end of the forest that spends the brooke.
Daredevil corssed the bridge at long last he didn't stop until they made it back to the Sleepy Hollow. The ghost didn't seem to follow him which much to his fortune which he later explained to the residents
It seems that the ghost was limited only to it's territory, not allowed to cross the waters.
From that point on he tried not to cross the path of that ghost for he wasn't sure the greatest hunter in himself would be lucky in another round against the world's worst monster
A year has passed since that event, he spent a good amount of time with his gang as well as making some move on Katrina. He knew he should be quick though, she likes to be charming but she is strating to get annoyed with him instead lately
And what is love life without any challenges
As usual, there had gathered at Ye Olde Schnooker and Schnapps Shoppe a group of rustic lads, the Sleepy Hollow boys.
A holler is heard in the backgrounds, attracting both the dogs and the boys, as a large, broad figure, Brom Bones, rides into town on his horse named Daredevil.
Their leader, Brom Bones, was a burly, roistering blade, always ready for a fight or a frolic.
Brom and Daredevil leap over their table and run up to the innkeeper, who is scared off by Daredevil neighing at him. The boys laugh at the innkeeper, as Brom leaps onto a beer barrel and rolls on it to his followers' table.
And though Brom was much given the madcap pranks and practical jokes, well, there was no malice in his mischief... not anymore. He tries at least.
He grabs the barrel and pulls the cork off with his teeth and pours some beer into their kegs.
Indeed, with his waggish humour and prodigious strength, Brom Bones became quite the hero, all the country round.
Brom passes the kegs to this friends. Daredevil and the dogs are then thirsty, so Brom punches the slats open and gives the barrel over to the animals who drink the beer out of the barrel. Brom and his gang give each other a toast and drink their keps. Brom then sees Ichabod walking into town through the keg glass and spits out his beer.
Brom's gang, the dogs, a pair of horses, and the townspeople then stare at Ichabod walking down the street.
A black cat walks out of a gap of a brick lining, until Ichabod uses his umbrella to turn the cat around.
A woman is walking outside, carrying a tray of pies. Ichabod opens the door to let her out, only to steal one of her pies using his book!
The townspeople watch Ichabod disappear over the hill.
At the schoolhouse, Ichabod is keeping his class under control by holding a rod behind his back, while he reads a book.
The schoolroom became Ichabod's empire, over which, with lordly dignity, he held absolute sway
Truth to say, Ichabod was a conscientious man, and ever bore in mind the maxim spare the rod and spoil the child.
Still, he was careful to administer justice with discrimination
For it behoved him to keep on good terms with his pupils. Especially if their mothers happened to be good cooks
As time went by, it may be seen that the pedagogue got on tolerably enough. Moreover, Ichabod found ways to increase his slender income and, at the same time, awaken the cultural interests of the sleepy little village
It was inevitable that a man like Ichabod would become an object of ridicule to Brom Bones and his gang. He didn't bare ill intent, he just takes his mind off of things with some fun.
Yet, to Ichabod Crane, these were small matters. He possessed a remarkable equanimity which remained quite undisturbed until that fateful day, when his path was crossed by a woman.
A certain woman. Katrina Van Tassel, only child of Baltus Van Tassel, the richest farmer in the county. She was a blooming lass, plump as a partridge. Ripe, melting and rosy-cheeked.
Once you have met that little coquette Katrina, you won't forget Katrina
There was no doubt the fair Katrina was the richest prize in the countryside. The schoolmaster, being an ambitious man, began to fill his mind with many sugared thoughts and hopeful suppositions.
Brom knew that better and more than anyone and did everything to scare any money hungry idiots away but never expected anyone to have enogh guts to stand between him and Katrina.
As he mentioned, The ease with which Brom cleared the field of rivals annoyed the fair Katrina. She often wished that some champion would appear and take the field openly against the boisterous Brom. A wiser man would have shrunk from the competition, but love is blind.
Ichabod was aware only that Dame Fortune was at last thundering at his door. It's true that Brom liked a joke as well as the next, but enough was too much. It was time for open warfare.
But this was easier said than done. No doubt of it, this was Ichabod's lucky day. The schoolmaster was a man of hidden talents, a rival to be reckoned with.
There was no doubt that Ichabod was the man of the hour. Brom had to concede his rival another victory. Yet, there was still a chance his time would come. For when the hour grew late, Van Tassel would call on his guests to tell him ghostly tales of Halloween. Brom knew there was no more potent believer in spooks and goblins than Ichabod Crane.
He knew of the ghost phantom from their encounter was real and trolled Ichabod into going to search the horseman.
He hoped that the horseman would scare Ichabod away from the little town which it did. For after that, the schoolmaster was never seen after.
It was shortly thereafter that Brom Bones led the fair Katrina to the altar. Rumors were Ichabod was still alive but he cared little of his former rival for he finally wins the heart of his new paramour Katrina 'Legume' Bones.
And here comes the end of his tale, Gaston gained finally a true love of his life and thereafter a family of his own, and both him and Katrina kept on living their lives.
Bonus scene :
The headless horseman looks on at the fleeing human
"What a wonderful night we had! What a scary face he had!"
He puts his pumpkin head back on as he gloats "Strong people are very fun to crack! Fear and doubt are signs of a strong heart. They push your heat, strike out in new directions! Without them, your zest for life might fade... as would your taste for fear. And believe me, that would really ruin my fun"
Jack Skellington then turns and leaves for his forest, eagerly waiting for other travelers to frighten again and again
