The Hunt for Scatha
Full synopsis:
Over 1000 years before the War of the Ring, the great Long-Worm Scatha brings terror to Wilderland. Fram, son of Frumgar, sets out to restore peace by slaying the dragon, joined by an elf warrior from the kingdom of Lórien who fought with the Last Alliance, and the son of a survivor of the Fall of Gondolin who slew a dragon during the battle, who is in Wilderland with his kin to stop raiding parties of orcs and wolves who terrorize villages. Meanwhile in the land that will become known as Rohan, Gandalf the Grey worries Scatha has a secret alliance with an evil he suspects lurks within Dol Guldur and attempts to ensure the beast is slain but ultimately enters the fortress to discover what hides within himself.
A/N-I won't lie, I got the idea for this story from a dream where it was the first in a Middle Earth anthology movie trilogy. It's a prequel to both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie trilogies. I'm going to try to stay as true to the writings of Tolkien as a whole but like the films there will be some creative liberties I take, such as Gandalf's subplot, which was inspired by events that occurred around 63 years after the death of Scatha in the books, here it will all occur in the same time. The orcs/wolves raiding parties is also inspired by that same thing that happens in the Hobbit novel. The Fall of Gondolin is also my favorite Middle Earth story, hence why I have a connection to it in this story. Overall, I hope you all will enjoy this story! Again, it's set in the movie continuity so I feel making small changes isn't a big issue since they did many times.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to write this story but I hope it will not be too long! I just wanted to go ahead and get the synopsis posted.
