The scene opens right inside the same volcano as last time as Techno was sleeping in the cage he was left in. Short visions of what he believed to be his past flashed before him before he awoke.
"Well...awake again, I see." Bala said, pouring himself a drink.
"Right...still here." Techno groaned. "So, as long as I can't escape, perhaps you don't mind me asking you some questions?"
"You have questions as to how I killed the grandmaster? It was quite easy. While you four toured, I slipped away towards his chamber. But there were numerous guards. However, they were also bringing him his meal. I slipped poison into his drink as it passed right by me. And no one ever suspected a thing." Bala said.
"But… why?" Techno asked. "Why kill the grandmaster? Why incite this whole debacle over a new one? Why lead my faction to Universal Prison? And why do you want to end Color Fighting forever?"
"Yes...my motive. I wasn't always like this. I was just some ordinary boy with a passion for Color Fighting just like any other apprentice. However, my father was taking it a step further. He gathered a number of his closest allies in an attempt to take control and lead the art form down a balanced path by purging those unworthy. However, those in the temple did not share the same thoughts. His rebellion was quelled quite easily. And then sent to prison where he died a few years after. I vowed on that day that I would destroy Color Fighting in all its entirety." Bala said. "So I spent years planning for my revenge. And now, finally, it's come full circle. When it get's out that Color Fighters are the ones who caused another big breakout, the fighting style will never recover from this blow."
"And to make sure that no one would ever suspect you, you replaced me and are having my faction do it." Techno said.
"Of course. I actually saw you attempt to do so a few weeks back. So I decided to use you and the New Universal VIllains as my scapegoat, seeing as how you all are easy to incriminate." Bala said.
"That is insulting… and accurate." Techno sighed. "However, what's to stop people from finding the Mimic of me and tracing this whole thing back to you? The temple must have already noticed your absence by now."
"True. They likely have. However, no one knows where I am, nor do they know where you are. As for the mimic, they're instructed to take a death blow when the upcoming riot reaches its peak. Causing a loss of morale...and a major blood bath." Bala said.
"So that means… you're going to be conducting a major Genocide!" Techno realized. "All of the Color Fighters who joined up with me, they're all gonna be killed in the riot once the mimic of me is killed."
"Geez, for a self proclaimed genius, you are pretty slow on the update." Bala said. "But yes, that is going to be what happens. None of those fighters have the experience to take on those weapons or all of those criminals inside."
"You insidious, genius son of a gun." Techno said. "Not even I would send my minions to their death."
"Sorry...but that is what is going to happen." Bala said. "You can't stop what's to come. The Flux Faction is only 15 minutes away from the prison. It's going to be a lot of fun."
"So what are you doing in all this?" Techno asked.
"Why I'm going over there right now to catch the action." Bala said. "Oh...FYI, this volcano is going to erupt in about ten minutes. It'll erase all of the evidence and you with it. It's been nice knowing you...Amadeus Flux Jr." he said as he departed down a tunnel.
"God damn it… I gotta get out of here and stop that assault on the prison." Techno said. "Okay, let's see… ten minutes to cut through the cage, jump across the magma filled gap, escape the volcano, and then I'll have five minutes to get to the prison, call my faction off, then get that balanced bastard. In short… it's completely impossible!"
Techno slumped in his cage and let his mind wander back to what happened. To think for him this all started after he was defeated in New York.
"I'm an idiot… I've been such an idiot for trying to go to that prison in the first place. Bala is right… My New Universal Villains are always failing because I can't do anything right. And now by trying to hole out in that temple… I led him right to that prison. All because I was so stubborn. I really should've been more logical at times like that and just went with my gut when I considered allying with the heroes. But… That wouldn't be my style, now would it?" Techno asked himself.
"No… I am the descendant of Amadeus Flux. It's in our blood to never give up on what we want. And what I want, more than anything… is to prove that I can be victorious. My time didn't have the Hero Alliance, so I was able to win there easily. But here… I have to work for that victory, and I'm more than willing to do so. Even if it takes hundreds of thousands of years… I will beat them, and prove that I, Amadeus Flux Jr., can win!"
"Well said." a figure said as a man emerged.
"Who...who are you exactly?" Techno said.
"So you have lost your memory. That's a shame. I was one of your closest compatriots during our reign in the future." he said. "Now...let's get you out of this cage." he said, jumping onto it and managing to break the lock as he pulled him out.
"Well, thank you… closest compatriot." Techno said. "We'd best leave, the volcano is going to erupt in less than ten minutes."
They hurried out of the volcano and onto the land around it. "Come on. I have a ship. We can take it back to our time and escape this nonsense." he said.
"No." Techno said.
"What?" he asked.
"Bala is still going to cause a mass genocide. I'm not going to let him do as he wishes." Techno said. "That guy thinks he can make a fool of me, beat up my teammates, and send my new minions to their deaths because of his daddy issues? No, he can't!"
"Since when did you become the sentimental type? This isn't like you at all." the figure chuckled.
"Since I made a few friends." Techno said. "Now… to the Universal Prison!"
With the Flux Faction, the ship continued to draw closer and closer.
"This is perfect." the mimic posing as Flux said. "Revenge for the loss of the great balancer. Now...my warriors. We go...to war!" he called out as the ship they were using started to pick up speed and prepared to ram the prison. However, an invisible barrier of sorts blocked it. "What?"
They then saw a smaller ship rising up with Kusaragi standing on top.
"How do you like my barrier talisman...it's been tested against even the most dangerous of items." Kusaragi said.
"Nice one, Kusaragi! I'm just glad we made it in time." Kazutora said.
"Thank the shortcut Ri found for us." Kusaragi said.
"I'm glad I could help." Ri smiled. "So Techno's imposter is on that ship, right?"
"Possibly but we'll end up having to fight through a number of fighters at the same time." Kusaragi said.
"Alright, I'll do what I can to help." Ri said, pulling out various feathers of different designs.
"Remember...we're not aiming for blood. Subdue them as much as we can." Kusaragi said.
"You got it, Kusaragi. We'll leave as few casualties as possible." Kazutora said.
"This is gonna be some fight." Rush said.
"Now go!" Kusaragi said as the four of them invaded the ship as they began to fight back against the Color Fighters inside.
"I wasn't told about this. There wasn't supposed to be any opposition. But so what? It's just four of them. We have the superior numbers." the mimic said.
"Wrong again." a voice said as another ship came by with an Egyptian cat-like figure standing in front. "They're not the only ones you need to contend with."
"And just who are these people supposed to be?" one of the fighters asked.
"Careful, guys. That cat lady, she's… She's a Bastet!" another fighter said.
"But where did she come from? There aren't any bastets in the temple." one of the fighters said.
"Oh, don't mind us. We're just a bit of a task force sent to help quell this little riot." Nesma said. "We have been handpicked by someone who knew full well of what's been going on."
"Mistress Nesma, I believe that explaining our situation to these people won't do any good." Bassam said.
"Yes. I suppose you are right. So, instead. I'll just show you who we've got." Nesma said as she snapped her fingers as hatches started to open, revealing two Anubis, a humanoid crocodile, a werewolf, three bee soldiers, a lizard man and a lizard lady.
"Hoo wee… That's quite the ensemble she's gathered here." Kazutora said.
"What's it matter? It's still just ten more, right? We still have the edge in numbers!" the mimic said.
"Hardly. Numbers aren't really much of a factor to rely on in battle." Nesma said.
"It all depends on skill and teamwork." Ri said.
"Now...attack!" Kusaragi said as they charged once more, quickly gaining an advantage over the enemy fighters.
"Adarna!" Ri called, tossing a few feathers, causing some of the fighters to fall asleep on contact.
"Nice one." Nesma said as she started chanting, forming a ball of light that pushes several more fighters back.
"T-Thank you." Ri said shyly.
"It's no problem, little one." Nesma said with a wink.
Meanwhile, the crocodile man, Rayleigh, was barreling his way through tons of fighters, making sure not to hurt them too bad.
"Flame Talisman!" Kusaragi said, warding away a number of other fighters with flaming talismans.
"Heh. Guess leaving the swamp was worth it! Nice move there!" Rayleigh said.
"Thank you." Kusaragi said.
"Come, Rhatla. We can't afford to fall behind." the male lizardfolk said.
"Just say the word, brother." Rhatla addressed her brother, Agursu. The two of them rushed at another batch of fighters and started knocking them out.
"Yeah...that's right...you all are my targets!" Rush said, attacking any fighter that stood in his path.
"Just make sure to save some for the rest of us." Valfor said as he bared his claws. Meanwhile, the bee soldiers were swarming another group of fighters.
"Unbelievable… How can we be losing so easily to so few people?!" the mimic asked. "I knew they weren't ready to face the prison but...to think there were this many losing at once. I gotta get outta here." he said as he started crawling to the escape pod.
"Oh no you don't. You're not going anywhere!" Kazutora said as he rushed at the mimic. "How dare you launch this kind of attack with his face! That is unforgivable!"
Just as the mimic touched the doorway of the pod, the facing wall was illuminated with the lines of a laser cutting into it. Once a full circle was made, the cut out portion fell over, revealing the real Techno standing there. He looked at the battle happening in the background, before his gaze fell onto the mimic with his face.
"So… you're the mimic." Techno stated, his glasses shining threateningly. "Honestly, you really could pass for me at first glance. What say we do a more in depth test of how good your acting is?"
"No… how are you here?! Bala left you in that volcano with an impossible escape scenario!" the mimic said.
"Let's just say… I had help from an old friend of mine." Techno said, picking up the mimic by the shirt and carrying him back into the ship, before he whistled to grab everyone's attention. "Attention, members of the Flux faction, you've been duped! The person who leads you here is an imposter! I'm the real Techno Flux!"
"Wait, it's a trick!" the mimic said, trying to save himself. "He's the imposter, get him!"
"Shut the hell up, faker. I know the real Techno when I see him." Kazutora said. "Just so you know, throughout all of this, I never doubted you for a minute, man."
"Well I am glad to hear you have such faith in me, Kazutora." Techno said. "Now then…"
Techno threw the mimic on to the ground, in the middle of the crowd. "Where's Bala? I know he's watching all this."
"E-Even if I knew, I'd never tell you! He'd kill me!" the mimic said.
"Well then… I'll have to do worse than that, won't I?" Techno mused. "When I first learned that I had the potential to be a Color Fighter, I wondered how could I unlock such a power. It took me some time, and some soul-searching, but now… I think I got it."
Techno walked towards the mimic, who shrank back in fear, until the real Flux towered over him.
"Do you think you can pass as me?" Techno asked. "I am Amadeus Flux Jr., conqueror of the 31st century Multiverse. You don't deserve to wear my face, but you're not completely worthless. All you need… is a little upgrade."
Techno then patted the mimic's head. For a moment, all was still; then, the mimic's body started to change, becoming silver in color, and his features starting to dull. After several seconds, the mimic stood up, no longer flesh and blood.
"My power is based on my self-confidence." Techno said. "The more sure of myself I am, the more potent my power. And that power… is the Mechanize Style of Color Fighting."
"Awaiting orders… awaiting orders..." the robotized mimic repeated monotonously.
"Oh wow… That is so creepy, yet so badass, dude!" Kazutora said.
"That's the power of my style. I can augment and mechanize anything I touch, including organic beings." Techno explained. "And here's the best part. Mimic-Bot, tell me where Bala is hiding!"
"He...is in the prison...ready to detonate the bomb." the mimic said.
"Did he just say a bomb?" Kareem asked.
"But why would he bomb the...It's not the prison he's going to blow up. Everyone off this ship now!" Techno called out.
"Come on, people, let's move!" Valfor said.
Just as they quickly got off the ship, it exploded along with the robotic mimic. Techno breathed a sigh of relief before looking on top of a nearby prison tower to see Bala looking down on him.
"That's it." Techno said creating a small hovercraft from the remains of the destroyed ship. "Bala...we're settling this...here and now!"
He charged right at Bala.
"Fine...I say bring it!" Bala declared.
