Author note: This story is taking inspiration from the Tenchi Muyo GXP series. I hear the GXP series gets a bad reputation but I really like it because it expands on the Tenchi Muyo universe and includes and expands on a few interesting characters. I did a brief look and did not see many GXP fan fictions and certainly no OC ones so this fiction should be one of a kind.
Chapter one: A fresh start.
Tenchi sat on the back porch steps as he tied his shoes. He let out a long sigh as he heard the sounds of crashing and bickering coming from inside the house. "There at it already?" Tenchi asked out loud as he looked up into the crisp, cool morning air as the sun had just begun to rise. Tenchi decided to ignore it as he grabbed his tools and began walking towards the carrot fields. A bit of hard work would take his mind off his girl problems.
Walking along the dirt road that lead to his carrot fields Tenchi heard the sound of a roaring V8 engine and the humming of large off road tires. As he turned around he saw as a large truck slowed down to meet him. The truck was a white 1986 Chevy K1500 with a rather large lift and tires and the rust and dent free white paint was covered with dust from the dirt road and a bit of mud. The trucks engine was rather loud and cammy sounding with the smell of raw gas coming from the exhaust. "Morning Tenchi. Need a lift?" Asked the driver with his low deep voice as he leaned his arm out the trucks window as the George Straight song Amarillo by morning could be heard playing from inside the truck's cab.
The driver was a fairly muscular white man in a tight fitting blue shirt, who appeared to be in his mid 20's with piercing hazel brown eyes, about a 4 inch long beard and long hair that was slicked back under his blue baseball cap and came down to just above his shoulders. "Oh thanks Jack I really appreciate it." Tenchi said cheerfully with a big smile. Jack smirked at the younger man, he always admired his cheerful nature.
Tenchi placed the tools that he was carrying in the back of Jack's truck before climbing into the cab. "So how those girls treating you Tenchi?" Jack asked with a smirk and amusement clear in his voice. Tenchi let out a long sigh and closed his eyes as he looked down. "I just wish I could get them to stop fighting. They never seem to fight when you're around." Tenchi said with sad frustration. Jack glanced over at Tenchi and took slight pity on his young friend. "You just have to make sure they know who's in charge." Jack said casually as he looked back at the road. Tenchi looked up at Jack with hope. "Do you think you could help me with that?" Asked a hopeful Tenchi. Jack shook his head. "Sorry Tenchi but that's something you have to do on your own." Said Jack.
Tenchi looked down again feeling disappointed but understood. "So what you been up to lately?" Asked Tenchi as he looked back at Jack. Jack just shrugged and shook his head. "You miss your time in the military?" Asked Tenchi. Jack let out a sigh. "In a way. I thought moving to the peaceful country side of Japan would help ease my mind, but in truth… I miss the action." Said Jack with a slight hint of sadness. Tenchi looked at him with slight wonder. "You find it hard fitting in with civilian life?" Asked Tenchi. "Yea… In truth… Combat is all I have ever known." Jack said a bit distantly. "Oh, well you know you're not alone. You always got us." Tenchi said with a bright smile. Jack smirked as he looked back at Tenchi. "Yea, I know. Thanks Tenchi" Said Jack. Jack had moved into the only other house near Tenchi's about a year ago and since had become friends with him and his family and knew most all the details of the people who lived within his house.
"I know, how about you come join us for dinner tonight?" Asked Tenchi with a cheerful smile. "Alright. I will see you tonight." Jack said with a smirk as he stopped the truck and let Tenchi out by the carrot fields. Tenchi got his things out of the back of Jack's truck before waving goodbye to Jack as he watched him drive off.
Later that night as the sun was starting to set as Tenchi stood outside with a cup of coffee in his hand as he watched Jack's truck pull up to the house. Just then Ryoko came flying out the house as she wrapped her arms around Tenchi, causing him to spill his coffee . "Woo whoo! Jack is here, time to party!" Exclaimed Ryoko as she held onto Tenchi with one arm and held her fist up in a cheering motion. "Ryoko!" Tenchi exclaimed with annoyance as he looked at her. "What? Jack always brings the best alcohol from America." Ryoko stated with a slight wine as they watched Jack open the door on his truck and slowly step out before shutting the door with a thud. He indeed had a bottle of Johnnie Walker black label in his hands as he smirked at the two.
"Ryoko are you bothering Tenchi!?" Exclaimed Ayeka as she came running out only to stop in surprise as she saw Jack. "Oh good evening lord Jack. Wont you come in?" Ayeka asked kindly as she bowed to him. "Just Jack… if you please Ayeka." Jack said as he tried to hide his irritation with a smile. "Yes of course. My apologies Jack." Ayeka stated formally with another bow before leading Jack inside with Tenchi and Ryoko fallowing behind. Jack liked Ayeka well enough but she was way too formal for his taste and her voice he found to be a bit irritating. On the other hand while he preferred the rough around the edges nature of Ryoko he also found her to be a bit extreme when it came to her wild behavior and felt bad for Tenchi, trying to tame a girl like that.
Inside Jack was greeted by the rest of Tenchi's household members; Washu, Nobuyuki, Katsuhito/Yosho, Sasami, Ryo-ohki, and Mihoshi. "Hello everyone. Don't worry I have more bottles out in the truck." Jack greeted as he placed the whisky bottle on the dining table. As he did so Ryo-ohki jumped on his head and meowed joyfully. Jack smirked as he picked her up off his head and held her in his arms as he began to pet her as she purred. Jack knew that he was in a mixed basket of company but liked them all fairly well. Washu was a strange woman who often pretended she was a child. She was also the mother of Ryoko and Ryo-ohki and while he found her to be somewhat crazy and strange she was someone he respected and had a bit of a fondness for. Jack found Nobuyuki to be a bit of a spineless pervert but despite that he also liked him and felt he had a good heart hidden underneath that. Jack knew that Katsuhito was once a warrior named Yosho from the planet Juri and he also liked him and would often train with him and Tenchi. While Jack didn't know much about swords he was an expert in hand to hand combat and was capable of going toe to toe with the warrior even when the man used his wooden sword. Jack thought Sasami was a sweet girl and if he had a daughter he would want her to be like Sasami. Jack had also cooked together with Sasami from time to time but he felt the poor girl worked too hard for her age. Jack thought Ryo-ohki was a strange creature and thought it even stranger that she could turn into a space ship or a little girl but she was very loveable and cuddly. Last but not least was Mihoshi. Jack was somewhat amazed by Mihoshi. While Mihoshi took the air headed blonde trope to the extreme and was by no means someone who would be considered smart she seemed to be quite knowledgeable about certain things and was by far the kindest, most gentle, and perhaps the most genuine of all of Tenchi's household members.
Jack than turned from the other members of the household that were seated at the table and went to go help Sasami in the kitchen as Tenchi fallowed him. "How may I be of service Sasami?" Jack asked the young girl warmly. Now that Jack thought about it Sasami probably wasn't actually that young since her kind lived a very long time. "I am almost done now but if you want you can help he carry the food to the table." Said Sasami with a smile as she reached over and petted Ryo-ohki before handing her a carrot. She meowed in joy before devouring the carrot. "I would be glad to." Jack said warmly with a smile and she smiled back. "Waw Sasami everything smells amazing!" Tenchi exclaimed with a smile. "Oh Tenchi, you always say that." Sasami said with a bright smile and a slight giggle.
Just then they heard Ryoko and Ayeka arguing in the other room. "Ryoko you can't open it now!" Exclaimed Ayeka. "Oh come on, I just want a little taste!" Wined Ryoko. Tench then ran out the room to find the two girls fighting over the bottle of whisky Jack had brought as everyone else at the table just watched. "Hey stop it you two!" Tenchi exclaimed to no avail. Jack then walked calmly into the room and snapped his fingers. Immediately the two girls stopped and placed the bottle of whisky back down on the table as they looked down in shame like two little girls caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Tenchi just looked at Jack in awe. It never ceased to amaze him how Jack could have control over any situation.
Seeing as things had now calmed down Jack placed Ryo-ohki down as she hopped across the floor and onto Washu's lap before he returned to the kitchen to help Sasami with the food. Not long after Jack and Sasami came out with the food and they all ate till they were stuffed with Sasami's good cooking.
After dinner they all sat around the table and had a few drinks with the exception of Tenchi. Most of the drinking was done by Ryoko and Ayeka who seemed to both be trying to drink each other under the table. "So Jack what have you been up to lately? You haven't dropped by the lab for any of my experiments." Washu said with a sly smirk as she petted Ryo- ohki, who was on her lap. "In your dreams Washu." Jack said with a smirk. Washu had often tried to run what would be considered perverted tests on him but he would never allow it. "But I really haven't been up to much. I get quite bored lately to be honest." Continued Jack.
"Why don't you join the GP?" Asked Mihoshi as she raised her hand with a joyous and ditzy smile on her face. "Are you sure that's such a good idea Mihoshi?" Asked Tenchi. "Sure, I'm sure." Said Mihoshi with a smile. "Well I think it's a great idea." Chimed in Nobuyuki. "Hmm, yes, the GP could sure use someone with your talent and military background." Said Katsuhito as he rubbed his chin and nodded his head. "Do they even let earthlings join?" Asked Jack as he took a sip of his drink. "Well… Not normally. But there have been exceptions." Mihoshi said as he placed a finger on her cheek and looked up in thought. Jack just looked at her skeptically with a raised eyebrow. "Hey wait! You're not really thinking about becoming a space cop are you?" Chimed in a drunken Ryoko but she was ignored by all. "Oh come on, I have an application in my ship. The worst they can say is no." Mihoshi said with a smile.
Jack had to admit it sounded exciting being a space cop and Mihoshi had a point, and he couldn't bring himself to tell her no with that smile on her face. "Oh alright." Jack conceded. "Yay!" Exclaimed Mihoshi as she grabbed Jack's arm and ran with him to her space ship. Jack was a bit surprised but he didn't try to fight her.
On Mihoshi's ship Jack and Mihoshi sat at the small table Mihosi had in her room. Her room was very messy and was all pink and girly. "So how does this work?" Jack asked as he looked at what Mihoshi called an application with a very confused and slightly unsure look on his face. The application looked more like some sort of translucent folder made of some sort of space plastic witch almost felt like it didn't even exist to the touch. "You just fill out your information and then place your thumb on the pad." Mihoshi said in her usual cheerful voice as she opened up the folder and pointed to the information section and then a small square where one would place their thumb on to be scanned.
Jack looked more confused than ever. He understood that this folder was actually some sort of high tech space computer but he didn't know how to operate it. Jack, with no amount of sureness tapped the section where one would fill out there information. To his shock a floating laptop like device much like the one Washu used appeared in front of him. Jack then shrugged with uncertainty as he began to type in his information. Once he was done the laptop then disappeared and he placed his thumb on the scanner. To Jacks great shock the application disappeared in a small flashing ball of light like it was beamed up somewhere. Mihoshi smiled at him. "Congratulations, your application has just been sent in." Said Mihoshi with a ditzy smile. "How… Do I know if I have been accepted? Jack asked with a very unsure look on his face. "Oh trust me, you will know if you have been accepted." Mihoshi said with a giggle. Jack raised an eyebrow feeling even more unsure than ever as he imagined two men in back type figures showing up at his door in the middle of the night.
Later that night Jack had passed out on the floor of the Masaki residence. He was slowly awoken as he felt a pair of slender feminine fingers running through his hair as he heard a small giggle and a woman's voice saying; "So soft" in a very cheery way. Jack slowly opened his eyes and was unsure if what he saw, if it was real or not. Real or not normally Jack would have been very alarmed to find a woman he never seen before sitting on the edge of his bed and running her fingers through his hair. Except… The way she was doing it, somehow wasn't in a sexual manner. It was in a motherly and comforting manner.
Her face was a bit blurry as Jack's vision hadn't focused yet but she actually kind of reminded him a bit of Mihoshi. She had similar wavy blonde hair that was tied up in a ponytail in a red ribbon. Her eyes were a sparkling sapphire blue and she had a similar skin tone to Mihoshi as well, though it was clear this woman wasn't Mihoshi. Jack looked and saw that the room was pitch black and nothing was visible except her and the bed he was now laying on. "Am… Am I in heaven?" Jacked asked with a slight blush as he looked into the woman's beautiful blue eyes. Jack then noticed that the woman was wearing what looked to be some kind of a janitors uniform?
"No silly, you're on a space ship." The woman said with a giggle. "A… Space ship?" Jack questioned with wonder as he sat up, the woman continuing to run her fingers through his hair witch sent a chill down his spine in a way that he felt guilty for liking. He then remembered that Mihoshi had said he would know if he was accepted. This wasn't what he was expecting by any means. Jack then turned quickly on the bed as a door slid vertically open as a figure stood in the doorway. Light shined into the room through the now open door but still nothing in the room was illuminated.
"Jack Giri." Called the male figure ."Sir!" Exclaimed Jack as he stood at attention and saluted the figure. All the while the woman was still running her fingers through his hair, with both hands now, which sent another pleasurable shiver down Jack's spine. "Please, fallow me." The figure said before turning and walking out the room. Jack fallowed as did the woman who never stopped playing with his hair as she giggled. It wasn't a girly giggle, it was somehow much more womanly in nature.
"We are off to the bridge, you will be briefed on GP policy when you get there." Said the man as he walked in front of Jack. The man than turned and looked at the woman who was with them. "Mitoto! Stop playing with his hair!" Snapped the man. "Aww, but I haven't even had the chance to play with his beard." Whined Mitoto. "Mitoto!" The man snapped again. "Hehe, sorry…" Mitoto said in a very ditzy and playful way as she stuck her tongue out. Jack wanted to say that it was ok but he figured it would be very bad form.
As they walked Jack turned to the woman who was now walking beside him. "So, Mitoto. You don't happen to know a girl named Mihoshi by any chance do you?" Asked Jack. "Oh you know my daughter?" Asked Mitoto with cheerful excitement. That explained a lot. This woman was Mihoshi's mom. She was a ditzy blonde like Mihoshi and looked a lot like her but Mitoto was a lot more attractive and had a much more appealing womanly charm to her. "Yes, in fact she was the one who gave me the application." Jack said with a small smirk. "That's wonderful! Well if Mihoshi thinks you would be a good fit than I'm sure you will fit in well here." Mitoto said with a bright and cheery smile.
Once at the bridge the man that Jack was fallowing turned to him and Jack saluted him. He could see the man was an Indian looking man with short dark hair and a red dot in the middle of his forehead. "Please, no need to be so formal." Said the man. "Oh, never mind then…" Jack said as he stood normal. "Then what is your name?" Asked Jack. "Warren." Replied the man. "Please sit and we will begin the presentation." Said Warren. Once seated Jack was shown a GP video. The video looked cool but Jack could tell it was purely propaganda. But if anything in the video was at all true Jack had learned the GP was more than just a police force, they were their own military force.
After the video Jack was welcomed by the crew as they saluted him and Jack saluted back. The crew seemed to only consist of Warren and three other men who looked to be in their early 20's. One was tall with dark red hair that was in a short ponytail. The other two were short with one being nerdy with glasses and black hair and the other one was fat with short brown hair. And Jack had no idea what role Mitoto served. He thought her uniform looked like that of a cleaning lady.
Jack sat back in his seat as the crew relayed information that Jack didn't fully understand but knew it had to do with the ships operating systems and their location. "Alright, all set for hyperspace jump." Announced Warren who was the captain of the ship. One of the crew mates counted down till they hit zero. After a moment Jack looked around in confusion. "So when do we do the hyperspace jump?" Asked Jack with a bit of confusion. "Already did it." Said Warren. "Really?" Asked Jack a bit surprised. "You were expecting an explosion?" Asked Warren. "I, really don't know…" Jack said with a shrug.
"well anyways we still have a ways till we reach our destination. There is no real point for you and Mitoto to be here right now so why don't you two go relax for the rest of the journey? Soon as we reach GP HQ you won't have a chance to relax for a little while." Said Warren with a smile. Jack than looked to Mitoto who smiled and nodded before getting up from her seat that was next to his. Jack fallowed her till they reached a room which looked like a small Japanese style living room. Jack looked around but saw that there seemed to be nothing to do so he laid down on the floor to take a nap.
Mitoto looked at him as he laid down. "You're bored huh?" Mitoto asked in a monotone voice. "Yea." Jack replied casually. "I know, why don't you give Mihoshi a call?" Mitoto asked cheerfully with a suggestive smile. Jack tilted his head and cocked an eyebrow as he turned his attention back to Mitoto. "Me and Mihoshi aren't like that. Were just friends." Said Jack. "Oh…" Mitoto said sounding a bit sad.
"Anyways I think I'll head back to the bridge if you need me." Mitoto said before walking out the room. Jack couldn't tell if Mitoto had left because she was upset or if she was just bored but he supposed it didn't matter. He really didn't have any romantic feelings towards her daughter Mihoshi. Jack slowly closed his eyes as he looked up at the ceiling. As he began to drift to sleep there was an explosion that rocked the ship causing Jack to get up. "Oh great, were all going to die!" Jack thought to himself a bit sarcastically.
Jack made his way out of the room and back up to the bridge. "What's going on?" Jack asked calmly. "Were running away." Mitoto said cheerfully as she looked at him with a smile. "Oh, how brave." Jack said with dry sarcasm, making Warren sigh. "Sadly were just a cargo transport ship and are unable to fight pirates." Said Warren. "Well maybe the GP should think about sending out a guard unit with their transport ships or equipping their transport ships with better weapons. Just a thought." Jack commented with slight irritation. "Yes I agree." Said Mitoto. "Mitoto…" Warren said with a sigh.
Just then the ship was hit with another blast making the ship rock. "Runaway harder!" Yelled Jack. "Were trying! But we can't outrun it!" Yelled the read headed crew member. "Can we do that hyper jump thing again?" Asked Jack. "Oh, that is an excellent Idea. Now why didn't I think of that?" Asked Warren. Jack just shot him an irritated look before taking a seat. "Prepare random jump!" Announced Warren. The crew did as they were told and the ship soon did a random jump but the pirate ship was soon on them again. "The pirates are still on us!" Announced one of the crew. So they jumped again, again, and again, but each time the pirates were still on them.
Warren sighed as he slammed his head on his console. "It's no use! I'm trained for delivering cargo not plotting military strategy." Said Warren with defeat. Jack sighed. So far he wasn't impressed with the GP. "I know, how about we let Jack choose our next jump?" Mitoto said cheerfully. "Huh?" Asked Jack. "That sounds like a great idea, he is just an amature." Said Warren with hope. "Well gee thanks…" Jack said with sarcasm before a holographic keyboard appeared in his lap. "It's easy, just type in a random jump coordinate." Said Warren. So Jack typed in a random number and the ship jumped again, Aga, and again. Each time more and more pirates were on their tail.
The last time it all went wrong because they appeared in front of an entire fleet of pirate ships. "Ahh! Jump again! Get us out of here!" Yelled Warren with fear. Before they could jump again the ship was hit with an energy blast that rocked the ship. "Engine power dropping quickly! Random jump is impossible!" Exclaimed the nerdy looking crew member as he sounded like he just shit himself.
Meanwhile on a ship that was hidden between space in the midst of the ships three figures watched as the scene unfolded before them. One of the figures was a man with brown hair that was shaved on top and the sides but the back came down into a long busy pony tail. Beside him stood a woman with long flowing black hair and purple, reddish colored yes. Behind them sat a much more predominant figure, an elegant yet dangerous looking woman with very long pale green hair that was in a high pony tail with flowing bangs on either side of her face. She also had pale white skin, and piercing pink eyes.
"What kind of ship is that? That doesn't look like any pirate ship I have ever seen." Said the man, sounding a bit surprised. "I think it's some sort of galaxy police transport vessel." Commented the woman beside him. The powerful woman behind them just looked on with her intent, piercing pink eyes and a slightly curious yet amused smirk gracing her soft lips. "I want all information on that ship." Stated the powerful woman with a powerful tone.
Just then a holographic clip board device appeared in the hand of the woman who stood next to the man as she looked over its contents. "Hmm, it would deem that the ship is indeed a GP transport vessel. It looks like they picked up a man from earth who was looking to join the GP. A man by the name of Jack Giri." Stated the woman as she looked over the information. The powerful woman smirked as her eyes softened with curious intent. "I think that I would most like to meet this Jack Giri. But first, let's capture some pirates!" Announced the powerful woman as she stood up and pulled a fan out of her sleeve and pointed to the pirate ships before opening the fan across her face to hide her devilish smile.
Jack watched in wonder as a bright green light seemed to split a pocket of space that was a little ways away from the ship and watched as another ship came out of it. This ship was clearly different and looked nothing like any of the pirate ships surrounding them or anything like Jack had imagined a ship to look like. Instead it looked like a few angle halos placed together with a few wing like points coming off of them.
"Look it's the Mikagami!" Mitoto announced joyously. "The Mikagami?" Warren asked with nearly breathless shock. "I'm guessing this is a good thing?" Jack asked with slight skepticism. "Mmhmm." Mitoto said as she nodded with a smile. Warren however was a bit more cynical about the situation. "Well I guess that's all about how you look at it, being saved by the devil princess and all…" Said Warren. "Devil princess?" Jack asked with confused intrigue. "You must have misunderstood me, I said grand consensus. I suffer from a slight lisp, it's hereditary." Warren said a bit nervously. "You're full of crap!" Jack shouted with irritation, causing Warren to move back in shock from his already seemingly frayed nerves.
"Captain, incoming message from the Mikagami." Said the nerdy looking crew member. A transmission then began to play. "Attention all ships, you are hereby under arrest under the authority of lady Seto of Juri for the crime of piracy." Said a powerful but feminine woman's voice. Jack then turned his attention back to the captain. "Tell me about this devil princess, lady Seto." Jack said with cautious intrigue. She sounded quite interesting to him. "Well lady Seto is head of the Juri royal family, and so is also head of the military. And also while perhaps not directly she is also head of the GP because of her power." Said Warren, seemingly afraid just to talk about her.
Jack then turned back to the sight outside the ship's window as he rubbed his chin in thought. "I think I would like to meet this woman." Jack said out loud in thought. "Are you crazy!? She's scary!" Yelled Warren with shock. Jack then turned back to the man. "I don't know anything about scary, but she sure does seem interesting." Jack said with a smirk. Warren hid behind his control panel, thinking that Jack was now scary as well. Mitoto just smiled, seemingly oblivious to the situation at hand.
