This story came about which initially was going to be a oneshot but I started jotting things down and I thought it was too big to be a oneshot so I will make it a couple chapters.

Rin is sitting in her office, finishing her stats for the day. Her phone rings and it is her assistant informing her that she has a visitor, her therapist Kaede. Rin began speaking to a therapist for quite some time to help with her triggers from her childhood. Every now and then she speaks to her about current events in her life.

Kaede enters and Rin stands to greet her and both women hug each other.

"Hello Rin, how are you?"

"I am doing fine. Please have a seat".

Rin and Kaede became close; she was more like her grandmother instead of her therapist.

"This is an out of the ordinary visit, what makes you stop by?"

"There has been something on my mind for quite some time regarding you and Sesshomaru".

"What is wrong?"

"I noticed you never speak about him anymore, are you both okay?"

Rin thought about what Kaede asked and said, "We really don't see much of each other, we are workaholics".

"You both use to spend so much time together and it seems like the both of you are divided, on two separate pages".

"I don't remember the last time we went out on a date, or any kind of intimacy. You are right we have become accustomed to not spending time with each other. I barely even speak to him".

Rin starts to cry.

"I did not mean to make you cry. I just didn't want you to forget you have a life outside of work".

"Yes, you are right, and I do miss my husband. Thank you for stopping by this little conversation just made me see the bigger picture of it all".

"It also seems as Sesshomaru needs some guidance in the communication department as he is doing the same as you".

"Sesshomaru is not really a talker, if anyone it would be Jaken but other than that, he really doesn't have anyone in his corner".

"So, you might be the one that will initiate this?"

"Yes".

"Well, I will leave you to it, just wanted to stop by and drop that Jewell".

Rin nods.

Kaede leaves and Rin calls her assistant. "Please hold calls for the rest of the day, I will be taking off".

Rin runs home to take out some lingerie and to place an order that she will pick up later on for their dinner. She took out the candles and the plates and placed them on the table so she will have less prepping to do. She usually gets home earlier than Sesshomaru so everything will be right on time as soon as he walks through the door.

Rin thought she would pay a visit to his office and give him a sample of what he will come home to. She quickly changed clothes to a tight-fitting dress and some heels. She put her hair up in a messy bun, she put on perfume that he loved on her.

She takes off and heads to his office. Rin thought to herself, why didn't she think of this before. It had been such a long time since they did anything romantic. It was not always up to the male to be romantic; it could be the female as well.

Flashback

Rin was a struggling student and a barista, she barely had a place to stay but thanks to Kagome, she let her pay the rent when she could which was kind of never. Kagome and Rin were best friends and Kagome was currently dating Inuyasha Taisho, he happened to be a billionaire. So whatever Kagome needed he would take care of it.

Rin happen to be out and about with Kagome. Kagome gets a call from Inuyasha inviting her to come to a festival his family was hosting. He informed her, it is like a carnival with all types of games and food trucks, and music entertainment.

"I have my friend with me, is it okay if she comes?"

"If it is Rin, of course she can come".

Kagome and Rin head over to the festival and Rin was surprised. "Is this what rich people do".

"You got to know somebody that knows somebody, and we just happen to be the somebody's" Kagome laughs.

"I am lucky today".

Inuyasha approaches the ladies and says, "I am glad you could make it Rin; you will have a good time". He leans to kiss Kagome.

"Looks like a lot of fun". She looks at the couple and smiles, "I don't want to be a third wheel, I am okay by myself".

"You sure Rin" Kagome says.

Rin nods and wave to them, "Call me if you need me" Kagome yells out.

Rin had on simple attire, ripped jean shorts and a black t-shirt with white letters going across it reading "short, small but sweet".

Rin walks over to play balloon dart; she didn't win but it was fun to do it anyway. She thought she would try her luck and test her strength. She takes the large hammer and tries to slam it down as hard as she could, but she barely got halfway. Ring laughed so hard as she knew she was never going to make it.

Someone grabs it from her and hits the spot and it flew off the scale. Rin turns but she has to back away because the individual was so tall. She looks up and sees a very handsome male looking down at her.

"I thought you may need some assistance".

"Oh, thank you".

Rin looks at him and studies him a bit, "Are you related to Inuyasha".

He sucks his teeth, "Maybe". He then hands her the stuffed teddy bear.

Boy, does he have a deep voice, she thinks to herself.

She smiles at him, "That was very kind of you".

"I saw your struggle, from a distance it looked like you may have needed help".

From a distance, were you watching me, she thinks.

"I know I can't do it, but I wanted to enjoy myself. Thank you once again". Rin waves but he was not done with her yet.

"You say Inuyasha, how do you know my brother?"

Rin turns back around and looks to him, he had a crescent moon on his forehead, magenta markings across his cheek bone, honey golden eyes. She looked down and saw his hands had claws and similar markings from his cheeks were also by his wrist. He was very well dressed but relax wear.

"Kagome, his girlfriend, is my friend".

"Is that why you are here?"

"Yes, he invited me".

He holds his hands out, "Sesshomaru".

Rin looks down and connects her hand with his, "I am Rin".

"We mind as well get more acquainted since you are my brother's girlfriend, friend".

"That sounds like a lot when you say it" she giggles.

"We should go find them" Rin says. Rin takes out her phone and texts Kagome. Kagome tells her where she was.

They walk up to them, "I was strolling along and met a family member of yours Inuyasha".

"Sesshomaru I am surprised". He stopped and thought about what he was going to say. He never seen Sesshomaru prancing around a human woman before. "It is nice to see you out bro".

They all hung out together and it seemed like they made pieces of a puzzle fit perfectly. Sesshomaru was intrigued by Rin, she had such a beautiful smile. He could tell she was not from money, she had nothing with a name brand on it, but he wanted to get to know her.

Sesshomaru did not yearn to be in a relationship with anyone, but Rin was calling to his spirit, to his yokai.

Kagome and Rin were leaving for the evening and Sesshomaru had to figure out a way to get her alone to ask her out. Inuyasha caught the cue and called Kagome back over with some utter nonsense he was saying. Sesshomaru walks up to Rin, "May I have your number?"

Rin was shocked, out of all people a billionaire demon was asking for her number. He was a looker and probably a ladies' man or demon. Why would he have time for her? She was plain woman and didn't have no money, well not like his.

Sesshomaru could feel her apprehensiveness and says, "I would like to get to know you Rin".

Kagome turns and realizes what is going on and nods her head yes to get Rin to say yes to Sesshomaru.

"Yes".

They exchange numbers and their relationship soared. They got married within 6 months of dating. Rin was still in college and would finish up her 4-year degree in psychology. Their relationship was spicy and different from others. The only thing that really bothered Sesshomaru was he needed to mate her, and Rin thought to wait until she opened up her own practice.

Rin graduates and she begins to build her practice and her clientele. She was on a role but a year into Rin's practice, there was a shift. They suddenly became distant. They focused on their careers more, well Rin did. Sesshomaru was already a name, his family name was known throughout many centuries. They were and still are the strongest demons, due to their Inu nature.

So, to basically put it in a nutshell, Taisho was a very known name in the industry.

Rin became too busy to be his wife, to be his mate. Their bond was not lost, it kind of just shifted a bit and needed to get back on track. He longed for her in so many ways that he makes an irrational decision that could destroy any bond that was left.

Back to reality

Rin arrives at her husband's office; she steps out the car and walks towards the double doors.

What was behind those doors could change both of their fates.
