Author's note: The only characters I own in this story are Estella and her mother Delysia (pronounced Del-e-see-ya). I hope you enjoy this story.

Chapter 1 – A new Beginning

Not for the first time that week shouting had broken out at number 12. Harry had been so angry at his best friends for keeping secrets from him all summer and now, out of the blue Remus had shown up with this girl who was calling Sirius "dad". He couldn't fully comprehend why Sirius would have kept the fact that he had a daughter a secret from him. How could everyone he trusted be keeping such big secrets for him?

Estella Martin was two years old than Harry, and for the most part she looked like her mother. She had fair skin and hazel eyes just like her mother Delysia. The one thing she got from Sirius was her long dark hair.

To say that she had not been thrilled to be moving to London was an understatement. As soon as Estella stepped foot into number 12, she wanted to walk straight back out and run as far away from the musty old house as she could. In the end she knew it would have done her no good, she knew that she would never be able to return to the country cottage she shared with her mother. All she wanted to do was feel her mother's arms wrapped around her just one more time, but it was too late her mother was gone and the only person she had left was this man who had donated half of his DNA to her.

In the end Estella forced herself to move down the musty hallway and through the door and down the steps that led to the kitchen.

"Hi dad" she said putting her bag down on the stone floor.

"Ella!" Sirius smiled as he stood up and wrapped his arms around the young girl

"I'm sorry it's been so long since we've seen each other" he said as he pulled out of the hug to get another look at her. "I'm sorry about your mum" he said as he offer her the chair he'd been sitting in. "It's ok." Estella said as she sat down "Its not like it was completely unexpected, she'd been sick for a long time."

"I'm sorry?!" Harry interrupted angrily "but who exactly is she?"

"Harry this is Sirius's daughter Estella" Remus said pulling out a chair for himself.

"Why would you not tell me you had a daughter?" Harry asked slamming his fist on the wooden table.

"My relationship with Ella and her mother Delysia was in a bad way when I visited them after getting out of Azkaban. I wasn't sure I'd ever see them you would have asked a lot of questions that I wasn't able to answer."

Harry was about to argue back about why Sirius should have told him when there was a knock on the kitchen door.

Sirius opened the door to find Molly Weasley standing on the other side. "I need to start making dinner now if you plan to eat before midnight" she said sternly as she waved her wand at the kitchen utensils which sprung to life. A massive pot of stew was starting to put itself together. Vegetables were being peeled and chopped and meat was being browned ready to be put into a pot full of gravy which was heating on the stove. The meal was already starting to make the room smell homier.

"The others are excited to meet our new guest." Molly said as she set about making tea by hand.

Suddenly there was there was a stomping sound, as if a small herd of Abraxan had been let loose in the house. Estella looked up to see that the stampede was in fact not being caused by a herd of Abraxan, but instead was the sound of a rather large group of people making their way into the kitchen. Estella was shocked by how many of them had flaming red hair like Mrs Weasley.

After the flow of people had finally subsided, Mrs Weasley decided to introduce everyone as she offered mugs of tea.

"This is my husband Arthur, our sons Fred, George and Ron and our daughter Ginny" Mrs Weasley said as she gave each red head their own mug of tea.

Estella smiled and nodded as each person was introduced.

Before long they were all sitting down to the delicious meal Mrs Weasley had made. The stew was the most amazing thing Estella had eaten in such a long time. It reminded her of before Delysia had gotten sick and the brain tumour had caused her to become exhausted when doing even simple tasks.

As everybody chattered away Estella couldn't help but let her mind wander. She couldn't help but think about everything that had led to this point.
